As we celebrate our first vacation in years, we opted for an excursion in Roatan and were not disappointed! We met our guide, Christian, with @letsseeroatan outside of the cruise port. Communication was excellent, and he was easy to find, and everyone helped with our daughter’s wheelchair.
We had a private car and stopped at @manawakiepark first where Daniel, our tour guide, gave us a wonderful experience with the macaws, sloths, and monkeys! They all helped with the challenges of the wheelchair and the few steps that needed navigating. There were too many steps for her to do the monkey exhibit, but she had extra time with the sloth while we played with the monkeys.
Next up was a quick stop at @mayakchocolate for some information, samples and gifts, followed by a stop at the @roatan_rum_company, which had some of the best I’ve tasted. Hubby even got a few infused cigars of various flavors and we got a small rum cake to enjoy Christmas morning.
Last but not least was a stop at @westbaybeach at the @bananaramaresort! We decided to take 90 minutes here where 3 of us enjoyed a 60 minute massage beachside for $40 (normally $45 for one person). The place was beautiful, beach was amazing, plenty of seats, loungers and tables with excellent food and very clean bathrooms and a place to shower and change, if needed.
This was a fantastic day and although a few challenges with sand, gravel, and unexpected terrain, it was accessible with our wheelchair (and with help) that fit easily in the back of the car, which Christian parked and navigated beautifully for us and our daughter.
I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone and everyone and even for those in a wheelchair with some mobility. It might be difficult (not impossible) if you are completely confined to a wheelchair.
Thankful for all of it and for never letting limits stand in the way of making memories! ❤️

This was a great excursion. Even though it poured rain for most of it we still were able to interact with the sloths & the monkeys. Kevin guided us thru the sloth sanctuary & he was truly amazing. Very informative about not only the wildlife but also the 'way of life' on Roatan. Our guide (Tia) & driver were excellent despite the worsening road conditions. We visited the chocolate & rum factories and enjoyed the sampling.
We ended our tour back in Roatan at a little out of the way, local restaurant. The food was nothing short of FANTASTIC.

Our Tour Guide, Leon Fisher, was the best. He took us on a great tour and even to some special places. Purchase the coconut bread and mango jam !

An awesome time had by all!! What a great way to see Routan and experience the island. Our tour guide Julie was the best and perfect for our group of 11. She was funny, knowledgeable and so much fun. By the end of the day we were all saying good bye with hugs!! She made sure we saw everything we wanted to see, kept us on schedule and made certain we were back to our ship at the perfect time. The sloths, monkeys, chocolate and rum cake were all wonderful. Holding a sloth was the coolest! This tour was all we had hoped for and more. My only comment would be, be prepared for the local vendors at the beach. They are persistent, but after we nicely refused their wares they did leave us alone.

Sanctuary was amazing!!! Our driver was so informative and friendly. We went to a great souvenir shop. No haggling and no pressure.

This was an amazing excursion. The sloths and monkeys were the cutest thing ever. Chocolate and rum testing was really good too. The beach was awesome. It would be great if food and drinks were included. I cannot say enough about our driver Cristian. He was absolutely awesome. Extremely friendly and informative. If a when we go back we will be asking for him.

We booked the cruise ship excursion just one day before. Despite the brevity, everything worked out wonderfully. We were welcomed by the guide on time in front of the harbour area. First we went to the monkey and sloth farm. You could also take a sloth on your arm. We were told a lot about the animals, their way of life and species protection. Afterwards we went to the chocolate "factory". Unfortunately, only a stall with small tasting and very scarce information. No different with the rum tasting, although it was more about sales. But from up there you have a beautiful view of the sea. After all this we went to the beautiful West Bay Beach for 3 hours. Unfortunately you are not alone there, but the turquoise sea and the beautiful beach compensate for this. In the water there was a boat "Pineapple on the beach" (also on Ista), which offers cocktails in the hollowed-out pineapple (Art Pina Colada) and deliciously traps the hollowed-out pulp. Nice in the sea to enjoy the cocktail. There is also a supermarket on the beach where you can buy drinks (Cola 1 USD) at a reasonable price.
The guide picked us up on time so we were back on our ship in time. Nice excursion in pleasant company. Highly recommended.

Amazing excursion with our guide Julie!! She was the kindest person and really allowed us to personalize our day and get what we wanted out of each stop! This tour was great because you got to do a little bit of everything! Shopping, monkeys & sloths, chocolate factory, rum cake tasting (a must purchase), and beach day all in one. Highly recommend this group and request Julie as your guide for a great experience!!

Went on this Excursion today, Fred was our guide/driver. He was a terrific young man. Word of "warning" lol, the sloth portion of the tour requires a small amount of walking up and down dirt paths, fine for the majority(us people who sit on their butt's all day may realize we need to exercise more😂. I still give a 5 outta 5. It's a great way to see different parts of the island.
