Our guide was said. We stopped at two coffee stops , could have done just one. This only left 30 minutes to see the turtles. Very disappointed. At the end the tour guide said suggested we take a $20 bill and write on one side what we liked and on the other side things we did not like. Would not take this tour if acid is your quite

Aloha Timothy, we are cutting out the second Coffee farm. There are just a few dates we have to honor old bookings that had that advertised and adjustments we have had to make since 2020.
Will have a team meeting about this though thank you. ❤

We took this tour on December 30, 2022 and really enjoyed it. Edmund was our shuttle driver/tour guide. All the different stops we made throughout the day were enjoyable and Edmund gave us great information about each place before we stopped. The little place we stopped for a lunch break had some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The coffee plantation part of the tour was also very good. Understanding all the work that goes into making a good cup of coffee makes you really realize what we take for granted everyday. The coffee plantation was beautiful. I wish the beach park stop where the turtles lay basking in the sun and surf could have been a bit longer and that people would listen and not get closer than 20’ from the turtles. (Some people must think the rules just don’t apply to them, which is frustrating.) Other than that, I thought the tour was great. Edmund was wonderful and I highly recommend this tour, especially if you only have a short time to see what you can of Kona as we did having come into port just for the day off a cruise ship. Great job! Thank you.

Felt that two coffee stops was a bit much, especially since a lot of time was edged traveling to the coffee farm. We would have preferred time to go snorkeling.

Aloha, good point the other coffee stop is not what it used to be and is actually being removed from the tour. We are just having to honor customers that have that on their itinerary.

I really enjoyed it all. The national historical park was closed and the lava tube was also closed and so we didn't get to see everything. The rest was great and our tour guide Edmund was awesome. He was very nice and knowledgeable about everything. Overall enjoyed it very much.

Kona is the second stop in Hilo on our cruise. We booked a whole day tour with C Big. We started seeing green turtles at the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park. Our next stop at the famous Royal Kona Coffee Center was very informative. Aside from free sampling of the many types of coffee, a guided tour was available. We learned how the coffee bean was carefully handpicked in this farm. The stages how the coffee bean goes from the tree to your coffee cup was also explained. Since this visit, the knowledge i gained gave me a better appreciation when I take my coffee. After a lunch stop, we visited the painted church.
The tour’s last activity was a drop off at the Kahaluu beach for some snorkeling. I had about 45 minutes to see the fish very near the shore before we were picked up and brought back to the ship. We did most of the activities that Kona had to offer in one day.

We had a great time on this tour. The group size was not to big so we didn’t lose out on any of the views or hearing the guide speak. The sea turtles were pretty cool, we were able to get into the water, knee deep...and see a bunch of them. The coffee tour was pretty informative and a great intro into how it’s all grown. I’d recommend this tour if you are looking for a mixture of things to see. Our guide was pretty informative and funny! Nice to have someone show you around who loves his job! If you are asked to play Hawaiian checkers...do it! I had a lot of fun learning the game!

Enjoyed our day very much! The driver was a Hilo resident ( sorry we can't remember his name) and had lots of information to share while being entertaining at the same time. I went out into the water to see the sea turtles and was within a few feet of them while my husband didn't get to see them on shore. Apparently they leave the shores on ship days. Our driver knew a shortcut so that the walk to the beach wasn't as long, giving us more time for other things. We especially enjoyed the coffee tour. This was far more interesting that I thought it would be. The owner took us on a tour of the property where they grow not only coffee but vanilla, avocados, black pepper and all kinds of fruit and explained the harvesting processes. We had been to a nut factory tour where all you got to do was look in the windows and buy product. Our driver took us to a local place for lunch that served excellent fresh caught fish with chips. From there we went to the Painted Church and learned of its historical relevance. Our last stop was at the coffee museum where we walked through the lava tube there. Along the way our driver pointed out many things making the trip more interesting and enjoyable. If you aren't into water activities, this is a great option.

Mahalo Ruth for taking the time to leave a review. Your guide was Edmund. So glad you enjoyed our Kona tour. It is one of my favorites as well........mainly because the Sea Turtles :) I dont drink coffee, but as you said it is actually very interesting and they actually had some delicious Hawaiian teas there as well.

Fantastic excursion! Great if you have never been to Kona before. Driver was very knowledgeable about the island, wildlife, plants and esp the history. He did all this while being an excellent driver.

Hi,
Do we have to be a part of a cruise in order to book this trip? At checkout, it is asking for our boarding time, disembarkment time, and cruise ship info.

You do not have to be part of a cruise to go on this tour. I booked with them and then we had a call with them for things like where you want to meet, what to bring,etc. The company does a great job and answers all questions. If you can get Dre for your guide you will have a wonderful time.
