Very well organized and professionally operated! We enjoyed every moment of this tour! Special compliments to our pilot Ben who besides his great pilot job told us about everything visible. This is actually the only way to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Big Island nort coast. Higly recommended!

We had an incredible helicopter flight with Sunshine and truly enjoyed it! It was our first helicopter flight and while we were a bit nervous, the entire crew was very kind. Our helicopter pilot, Ben Habecker, was awesome. Our flight was very smooth and Ben did a great job of calming our nerves, telling us in advanced if there was any potential turbulence, showing us incredible views close up, and he even took the time to look for and fly closely over a mom whale and her baby calf. Would highly recommend our pilot Ben and Sunshine helicopter company as we had a 10/10 experience and would do it again!

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!
This was the highlight of our weeklong trip to the big island.
Maria was an excellent pilot and very knowledgable about all of the sights we saw and more.
I highly recommend Sunshine Helicopters.

My wife and I really enjoyed our time flying over to see the waterfalls it was beautiful and worth the money for sure! Great staff and our helicopter pilot was amazing!

Flight was awesome. Views were just fantastic! Great narrative by our pilot. Also great local information by the young lady they picked us up from the hotel.

Excellent tour with our awesome pilot Maria. She explained everything and was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about what we were looking at. The website was easy to use, booking wasn’t a problem and very clear directions to get to the heliport. Thanks for an awesome day!

We loved our tour with Sunshine Helicopters. We were initially going to do a longer tour with volcanoes and waterfalls but due to weather downgraded to just waterfalls. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because after about 45 minutes we were all a little nauseated and we felt like we got enough of a good experience. Customer service was top notch and we felt very safe!

Had an absolute amazing time doing the Kohala/Hamakua coast helicopter tour with Sunshine Helicopters.
We were lucky to book it at all, since they were full during the dates we were free. Luckily they were able to put us on a waitlist and contacted us about an opening. I was so eager that I called in to reserve the spots while my flight to Hawaii was about to take off! A+ for communication.
The flight itself was great too. After a brief safety instruction, we were taken to the helicopter, got our photo taken (printed version available for purchase for $15 USD), and were seated based on our weight.
Don't fret, because there is no bad seat in the helicopter! I sat in the back middle seat and I was able to see everything the pilot pointed out. Not only that, but he flew in a way so that one side saw the landmarks, and then turned around so that the other side could see it.
We were lucky to catch some whales during our flight, and he spent a good 3 minutes circling over them so everyone could get some great views!
Plus the flight path itself was great! We flew up the coast and then through a valley to cut across the Big Island itself. Tons of waterfalls that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise. Also gave another perspective on locations that we hiked before, such as Pololu Valley and Waipio Valley.
I'd recommend everyone to take this tour! Sunshine is definitely one of the more affordable options, and it was definitely worth the price!
Only nitpick is that I wish digital copies of our photo were provided when we purchased them. They said a digital copy would be on the USB drive if we purchased the video recording of our flight, but I personally didn't find that one worth the price.

This is definitely the BEST way to see the beautiful Hamakua Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii! Our pilot flew into each of the valleys, even the narrow ones, and we were able to see all the waterfalls. He even pointed out the valley wall landslides, resulting from earthquakes in the last decade. The views of the eroding coastal cliffs and the narrow black-sand beaches were also spectacular. There is limited access by road to this beautiful part of the island, so helicopter is definitely the way to go. The pilot and staff were very safety-conscious and professional. Our family group of five spent 5 days on the Big Island and 6 days on Oahu, and everyone agreed this helicopter tour was one of the top highlights of the entire trip to Hawaii.

Pilot was very well informed and could answer most questions we had about the island. View of the rugged northern coast of the island were stunning from the chopper. Value for money was also not bad given the flight time. Only complaint was that the visibility wasn't great from the rear middle seats due to the design of the helicopter but that isn't really something under their control.
