I booked this salt tour because my children love salt! We learned so much about deep sea salt and dipped our hands in the cool water being piped in from below. The kids LOVED the tasting of 15 different types of salt and we went home with 9 bottles! My father has issues will leg cramps and got some minerals after learning of the benefits of magnesium from our tour guide. He has had no leg cramps this trip even after lots of walking. Such a beautiful landscape to learn about. You must try this tour!

Very interesting historical facts about salt and the unique harvesting of deep sea salt. Tour leader is very knowledgeable about all things “Hawaiian salt”.
We also did the deep sea saltwater foot soak in the 45 degree water. It seems impossible to do at first, but if you keep at it, it actually becomes restful. My feet sang for the rest of the day! The salt tasting is very enjoyable, and the gift shop unique! Highly recommended!

The Kona Salt Farm tour was so cool! Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave a great tour. I highly recommend this activity if you are looking for something to do on the Big Island! I would 100% visit again.

As a 20 year Hawaii resident, I had yet to tour the salt farm until 11/2023. The tour was interesting and informational. Jeff was a great guide, and the I highly recommend it as I learned a lot about salt and the differences between the varieties. Bring a hat as it does get warm down at the shoreline. Allow some extra time in the gift shop as there is a lot to see and taste. Taking Hawaiian salt home, makes great gifts too!

Candy was so amazing. She was very informative, funny, and accommodating, (I am handicapped and was on a scooter). We thoroughly loved this tour and the taste tasting was so yummy. I also had the foot soak and I highly recommend it if you do this tour. The water you drink here comes from 2200 feet below the ocean surface and tastes amazing.

What an interesting, unique tour to do on the Big Island of Hawaii. It only takes about an hour out of your day and you learn how they harvest the salt and also get to sample many of their different flavors. Of course, you'll want to go home with some of your favorites. Definitely worth a visit.

Very informative tour concerning the process of converting deep saltwater into sea salt. We found the concept of the blue water research and business park very interesting. We would definitely recommend the cold seawater foot soak. We both hit the 20 minute mark and our feet felt great afterwards.

This is a very informative and educational tour for how sea salt is developed from the ocean. Candy did a great job explaining their process at Kona Sea Salt. It is a different process and not done by anyone else. A definite must tour when in Kona area.

Ipo, our guide, was a wonderful historian and shared the amazing techology used to create their products. We found it facinating as she shared the ancient Hawaiian stories about salt, fishing, and details about the local environment. The history of their company was interesting and how it has evolved to become what it is today.
We were accomodated with Mom's wheeled walker and she didn't miss any of the tour.
Thank you for a great experience. And the Foot Soak was also worth the time and cost. Don't miss it.

I knew very little about how salt can be obtained from sea water. This was a fascinating tour. The tour guid was terrific and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand.
