This was a great way to see the island. It was also nice to get a bit of history and knowledge on specifics we were touring. The helicopter had an advantage over others as it had its doors but also had plenty of windows to see out of.I would recommend this for couples and families, and solo as well.

Don't book/pay in advance. I paid $640 for my reservation and the booking agent got it wrong. I wasn't even in Hawaii and was charged $640 for a flight I never was on.

Aloha Keenan, I apologize that you booked the wrong date and were not yet in Hawaii. If the Viator agent made a mistake they should honor your funds back to you. As the operator, there is no refund for no-show customers.

While in Kauai we flew with Chelsea around the beautiful island. She was an amazing pilot and we loved seeing Kauai from the air. The Sunshine Helicopter Tour people were THE BEST! We highly recommend this company and it's staff.

My husband and I took a more expansive version of this helicopter adventure in late November, with a forty minute stop midway through in which we landed atop a mountain bordering an immense ravine amidst an amazing eco-refuge (an option available on the Safari website).
Upon landing, the owner of the property, Keith Robinson, whose family has played an important role in Kauai for generations, came uphill and greeted our helicopter, personally showing us around the 15-acre mountaintop landing area that he works constantly in his quest to protect the island's most-threatened indigenous flora.
Undeniably breathtaking and informative, the tour was well worth the splurge, and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone who stops on the island of Kauai. The pick-up from the cruise terminal was easy, the driver friendly (a fellow originally from Guam, named Jesse, with an unexpected fondness for country music), and the safety instructions given us beforehand clear and quick. Once in the air, the view quickly became stunning. In one moment we six tour-takers would be awing over a stretch of beautiful shoreline, only to be hanging in front of one of dozens of windblown, shoestring waterfalls a moment later, and then moving on to hover amid some massive crater, the whole time being informed by our quite knowledgable and friendly pilot, Kyle.
Truly an unforgettable experience. Someday we hope to go again.

After a week enjoying both the north & south shores of this marvelous island, and some serious hiking in the mountains, we were able to take this helicopter tour on our last full day. It had been easily rescheduled from earlier in the week due to poor visibility weather. Fortunately we had a beautiful morning. Capt Jedi & the flight team were professional and engaging and we absolutely loved cementing our memories of Kauai from the air. A dicey headset compromised the captain's narrative a bit but it was certainly a blast sitting up front next to him.

We were picked up on time at 7:00 am at our Cruise Ship and driven to the Sunshine Helicopter Tour Office. There, we were checked in, given a safety briefing and driven to the Airport. There were 6 of us plus the pilot in the helicopter. We were each given noise-canceling headphones to listen to the pilot's narrative and there were 2 microphones to pick up and ask the pilot questions. The helicopter was very well maintained and looked brand new.
The ride was super comfortable and quiet. The pilot was a real expert in smooth maneuvering of the craft with no sudden dips or direction changes. This was a sightseeing ride, not a thrill ride.
What we saw was absolutely beautiful. The early morning sunshine made the scenery really pop. We started along the coast and then went inland to view several beautiful canyons and waterfalls. The pilot's live narrative was informative and fun. He really knew his island. We saw so much that the time just flew by (no pun intended) and before we knew it, we had completely circled the island and were landing back at the airport. The office location made it convenient for us to spend the rest of the morning at a beautiful nearby beach.
Bottom Line: Great tour, knowledgeable, personable pilot, highly recommended.

This helicopter tour was recommended by our cruise line. It was an excellent suggestion. I have never been in one before and was a little nervous. My day had not been going well at all. I had a couple nosebleeds prior to the flight and the folks working there were wonderful. Let me sit and calm down, gave me Kleenex, water, etc. without any pressure. Preflight Safety information was ample. Getting on the helicopter was easy and pictures were taken along with a video of our flight. Liftoff and return were easy with our super trained pilot. Not only was our pilot skilled at flight, he was knowledgeable about the area and narrated what we were seeing. It was beautiful, informative, fun, exciting, and educational. I LOVED it. Thank you for an amazing tour!
