My wife and I are are hosts of the Outlander Society travel club. In this case we are on the beautiful Explora II We plan private group trips / shore excursions throughout our 19 day cruise. We have been working with Upscale for months for the perfect small group "foodie & cutlure" tour (12 pax) , which was supposed to have been Monday Oct 13, 2024. On Thursday the 9th, the ship had to change the itinerary due to bad weather and we were moved to be in Tangier the next day Friday 10th!
Unbelievably, Hamid was accommodate this major change (especially with 12 people going to breakfast and lunch), and port access license so that he could pick us up directly by the ship.
By all accounts, it has been the best tour of the trip! Hamid even accommodated our guest with a mobility scooter. His English is great, and his knowledge of the area unmatched. We rode camels, and saw every major highlight and iconic stop, including mint tea at cafe tangis. I highly recommend Upscale Tours in Tangier!

We had a very great experience with Mr. Hamid and his professionali driver. We visited all the most important points of Tangeri city and touched the real live of this city. He Is very professional and kind in particular with my baby of 3.5y he was so kind and available in our needs. Very suggested

Excellent day trip through Tangier with many sights, visit to the bazaar and great lunch (not included in the price). The tour guide Abdel was very enthusiastic about his hometown. He was also able to answer many questions and has a great knowledge of Tangier and Morocco. The driver drove us confidently to all sights and picked us up again after the bazaar on the edge of the old town. The car used was a new and spacious Mercedes Vito. Overall an extremely well organized tour of Tangier.

Our tour in Tangier, Morocco with Upscale Tours was more amazing than I could have imagined. Our tour guide, Hamid, was professional from the start. His meticulous attention to detail and passion for his beautiful country were evident throughout the tour. Hamid's wealth of knowledge added depth to our experience, making it both informative and engaging. The private tour was filled with pleasant surprises at every corner, and the breakfast and lunch provided were nothing short of amazing. I can't wait to go back and book with Hamid and Upscale Tours again. Highly recommend for a truly memorable and immersive tour experience in Tangier.

We chose this tour as the best option for us compared to a cruise company excursion. I wanted to go at a pace that matched both my physical needs as well as having a choice to include or exclude specific highlights. Our tour operator, Hamid, was very helpful in setting up our arrangements such as timing, and meeting location using the Viator messaging service. We were met by Hamid and his driver just outside our cruise ship and settled into a comfortable air-conditioned van. The first part of our tour was a drive throughout the Tangier area. I particularly enjoyed seeing where the viewpoint where the Atlantic and Mediterranean merged together. The second part of the tour was a strategically planned walk from the Kasbah to the Medina ending with the Petit Souk. Hamid's driver dropped us off where we could enjoy the leisurely downhill stroll and then picked us up at the bottom of the old town. Hamid was very polite, attentive and knowledgeable, explaining history and pertinent information about Tangier. He made it a point to show us something local such as a tasty Moroccan coffee. Importantly for us, Hamid was attentive to our needs including when we wanted to be back on the cruise ship. We would confidently recommend Upscale Tours Tangier and Hamid to our friends and family!

Hamid is a great host - make no mistake, this is not merely a guided tour, it’s a presentation with deep affection for his clients and the place where he lives. We had our tour much shortened due to circumstances well beyond any preparation but Hamid was still keen to give us a great experience. We’re so grateful that we still had a chance to experience some of what Tangier has to offer.

Hamid, our tour guide, met us at the pier on time. Gave us an overview of the city and culture as we drove or walked that day in Tangier. We experienced first hand a delicious Moroccan light breakfast and amazing lunch. The highlight of the tour was meeting the town baker. His job was to bake the prepared foods of each household.

Our Tangier food tour was the highlight of our Portugal/Spain/Morocco trip. We only had a short time available, so we could only do a day trip walking tour which took about 5.5 hours. Mohammed was there to meet us with the driver when we exited the ferry building. They gave us a brief driving tour throughout the city, pointing out historical sites and points of interest. Our main goal was to be off the beaten path, out of the tourist areas, and Mohammed fully delivered that for us.
We had breakfast tea and snacks in an urban/working neighborhood where a few police officers had just been finishing up their breakfast snack.
Then we walked through city streets and open air markets lining the streets where there were no other tourists to be seen. The markets had a variety of everyday items and beautiful grocery stands including any type of olive imaginable. He took us to a fantastic tiny soup shop tucked away in a local neighborhood with the best pea soup and tasty bread. Then in another nearby tiny restaurant, we tried some sugarcane juice as we watched the open air kitchen prepare their food (that looked so good and would have really liked to try if there were time). On our way back to the casbah, we huddled outside a busy restaurant savoring these fried dough chicken puffs, similar to a cross between an empanada and a samosa.
We then made our way back to the casbah to wind through the tiny streets, take some photos with stunning tile work and architecture, check out gorgeous rugs, walk through the museum, and try some more foods. Here we tasted some star fruit, and then to lunch. There were some other tourists in the lunch location, but it did not feel super touristy. Mohammed said it was a place he came with his dad when young. The food was all so delicious. We then went down to the spice shop where they demonstrated the quality of their spices and other oils/products for sale (be aware if your smell sensitive that this made be overwhelming). Then we made our way back to the ferry port (the line to load going home on the 4pm boat was very long, but we got on!)
Mohammed was super knowledgeable about his city and its culinary treasures. He was often greeted by friends passing by saying hello. He was very easy-going and funny. Such a great trip that even though I forgot to do the review until now many months later, I felt I still needed to write it. Thank you for a great trip!

A wonderful day trip into the beautiful city of Tangier. There is no better way to get a comprehensive view of the city, it’s various neighbourhood, the culture and the history of Tanger by someone who is from the city and cares for it. Highly recommended to hire this service, sit back, and enjoy the city.
