Before we started our tour, our guide asked what we wanted to. We responded with, ‘getting a flavor of Harare.’ So he listed many alternatives, told us a little about each one and we selected the ones that sounded most interesting to the group. In fact we visited the hill top where Harare was started (after the British had decided that the first choice wasn’t suitable), the housing that was built after WW II for the native workers, we walked around the downtown area, seeing the shops and hearing some of the history - prior to independence, visited a craft market and a Saturday farmer’s market, and even had time to sit with a native ‘healer’. That was our tour, my guess is that they can tailor a tour to your interests and time constraints. Hope this helps.
