We were nervous about booking this trip but the excellent Trip Advisor reviews gave us the confidence to book. Sujan, who runs the company works very hard to ensure that his guests are looked after. Hardly a day went by when he didn’t text us to check that all was well. We learnt so much from our excellent guide and Porter, Nima and Basang who both came from Sherpa families and who also happened to be ex monks. They also made sure that during the trip we stayed safe and had everything we needed.
The trip is extraordinary and hard to describe in any way that does the experience justice. The scenery was sublime, the accommodation en route could be described as adequate to very basic and that is the same whoever you book with. We basked in glorious sunshine and then as we went higher, froze. Kathmandu was vibrant and crazy, a stark contrast with the peace and beauty of the trek. We were not seasoned hikers but coped fine with the terrain although the the two early morning hikes, Tilicho lake and Thorong La tested our endurance. The way the trip is organised seemed to allow enough acclimatisation time as neither of us suffered with altitude sickness. The emotion at reaching the pass of Thorong La was impossible to contain.
It was a trip of contrasts, not for the faint hearted, but it made us feel like travellers and not tourists and we will love our memories of Nepal.

I visited Manang and the place is really beautiful! Friendly locals and easy trekking, if you don’t have so many days to spend in Nepal then Manang trek is the best one. The staffs are so friendly and helpful, highly recommended!

I don't usually get agencies every time I do trekking in Nepal, but this time I did as I don't wanna hassle myself with getting paper works and permits. I choose the Alpine Club of Himalaya and surely it was a great decision. From the paper works, things to bring in the trek, advice, and just organizing everything for me, is somehow ACH was always on top. Safety is top-notch as well, they will make sure that you are taken care of up in the mountain, this is so important and I appreciate them for looking after me. Sujan the owner always follows up if the trek is doing well and If I need things , a simple gesture that you can tell they look after their clients. It was a good experience in general and will never forget it, I will surely do another one with them.Thanks ACH for the memorable trek in Annapurna.

We chose the organisation on bookatrekking.com because of what seemed to be a good price- benefit profile, also depending on their positive internet ratings.
Communication with Alpine Club of Himalaya (ACH) before the Trek was very friendly but lacking in content.
Questions in advance like “what backpack size would you recommend for the Trek?” was answered with “any backpack you can find in Thamel” (Thamel= shopping area for outdoor sports in Kathmandu), about provided down jackets, sleeping bags and kitbags was left unanswered until meeting in Kathmandu.
We recommend 35 to 50L maximum, in summer you need less stuff of course but 35L should be always a good choice- the less you carry, the better. Further ACH provides down jackets and sleeping bags so you don’t have to buy one. We recommend to carry your own inlay because the provided stuff is used and smelly. Kitbag for the porter is not needed, porters have their own duffle bag. Information on site bookatrekking.com is not up-to-date.
The trip was good and satisfyingly organised concerning transportation, accommodation, permits and accessibility of staff in Kathmandu, who was all the time reachable for us in case of any emergencies.
Unfortunately, on the 16- days schedule ACH forgot to count a day so that we had to add one in the end. That was luckily unproblematic since we had a spare day planned and the staff in Kathmandu rearranged flights from Pokahara easily.
The arranged porter was nice and carrying some extra weight from our bagpack, as well as spare sleeping bags and down jackets.
The arranged guide was lacking knowledge and not reassuring rather than unprofessional and troubling. He didn’t know how to interpret risky situations concerning weather and mountain security, further he hardly discussed the trekking route with us as well as didn’t care about our physical health.
The staff in Kathmandu helped us solving problems we had with him. Afterwards ACH showed great sympathy and courtesy concerning difficulties with the guide
