I can not imagine a better experience than what Himalayan Quests offered. Amrit and Kate are the best. Not only are they lovely, generous people, but their communication was clear, logistics were flawless, they were able to solve problems without stress when they arose (like lost luggage), and they tailored the trip to our needs (I was 5 months pregnant at the time and they put me at ease). Rocken, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, communicative, and fun to hang out with -- we became a great team and we were sad to have to part at the end of the trek. Amrit and Kate treat their clients and employees with the utmost respect and give back to their communities in many ways, another reason we love and highly recommend them.

Our trek through the Tsum Valley and around the Manaslu circuit with Himalayan Quests (HQ) was extraordinary. We traveled in Nepal for nearly a month—21 days trekking and five days exploring in and around Kathmandu, April 11-May 8, 2023. It could not have gone better. I highly recommend them.
We were supported by the HQ team from the moment we landed. They met us at the airport and got us settled into our hotel. Over the next two days, they smoothly took care of our permitting needs and set up a wonderful tour tof Kathmandu.
We were just two trekkers and led by a very experienced guide, Mani Rai, and supported by a wonderful porter, Khem Mahji. Mani briefed us each evening about the day ahead, the cultural significance of the villages we would visit and the nature of the terrain we would cover. He was very attentive, making sure we were doing fine physically and seeing what was interesting to us. As the days passed, he created options and side trips that he knew we would enjoy.
Himalayan Quests builds their experiences on a foundation of international caliber mountaineering skills. We saw firsthand how careful they were . Our trip was in the shoulder season. We had mostly beautiful weather. As April turned to May, though, the afternoons began to get rainy and at high altitude there was regular snowfall. The Larke Pass, the high point on the Manaslu Circuit at 5100m was posing an increasing challenge to trekkers. Our guide carefully monitored the weather and consulted frequently with other guides. As we approached the pass, he adjusted our itinerary. We were in position a day ahead of schedule, took advantage of window of improving weather, and had a fantastic (and challenging) day of going up and over the pass.
