I had booked the evening dinner cruise, as I thought it would be a great way to see Bangkok sights and enjoy the buffet dinner.
It was reasonable value at around £26 each.
However, a few things bugged me. The cruise was due to set off at 19.30 and people were boarding the boat at 19.00 and straight away attacking the buffet. I thought it would be a relaxing dinner cruise, not a mad rush for food before the boat has even left dock.
We chose to wait, but by that time, a lot of the food was gone, and certain tables had it piled up in front of them.
The cruise advertised showing you the sights of Bangkok, including the Grand Palace, however the boat didn't go up the river that far and instead, went the over way, which was pretty boring.
Drinks were expensive especially the wine, and despite the cruise busy with international tourist, they only accept cash on board. Also, we were presented our drinks bill 45 mins before the end of the cruise, instead of being able to buy another drink.
The cruise was generally OK but is not the great romantic/relaxing cruise we thought.

Die Teilnehmer Anzahl ist zu groß, so dass es am Buffet zu einer regelrechten Schlacht kommt. Auch ist eine normale Konversation zumindest auf dem Oberdeck nicht möglich, den das Showprogramm ist dermassen laut, dass man sein eigenes Wort nicht versteht. Für mich ein riesen Reinfall und keinerlei Romantik

I think it was just like any other dinner cruise. Food was so so (the prawns and the dipping sauce were great though), and the band was mediocre at best. It was quite nice when we were on the top deck (outdoor) where we can see beautiful view of Bangkok at night, but then it was raining and we had to go indoor and it became boring. The duration was about 2 hours.

The food was just okay. Many options to choose from. Not as good as I thought. The food at the clubs and the attractions definitely still as more authentic and cooked with love.
I enjoyed the ambiance the most. The boat itself is nice and the scenery was very nice that we passed. Beautiful views. The live band was very enjoyable. They sang so good and made it real nice.
I was disappointed that the Thai classical dance was not happening this night (May 6th) as it was one of the things that attracted my attention when planning our attractions as foreigners.

We booked through Viator, and were assigned an area to sit which was lovely, however as we would come up to a location many guests would rush out bumping our table or us and making it impossible for us to see the landmarks. This was disappointing and spoilt the night. Drinks were priced okay, however we did not receive our complimentary drink as we boarded which was highly annoying as it was paid for in the ticket. Our driver was also late to pick up. Sadly another down point was the child vomiting on deck and it taking close to 30-45minutes before someone cleaned it up. Food was good and a great variety. Overall it was a good evening not fantastic though.

Booked this cruise through Viator. First issue was getting to the dock. The cost included a van ride from your hotel but the information said that you could also meet them at the Cruise operators headquarters. Since we were going to be in that area I said that is where I wanted to get picked up. However, they told me that I could not get picked up there and had to go the dock or get picked up at my hotel which I then had to go back to for pickup. When we got to the dock there were two ships, the Grand Pearl and the Wonderful Pearl. Our tickets were for the Wonderful Pearl which was much larger but just curious as to how you know which one you are booked on? On the ship your table was pre-assigned in one of 3 areas, the top deck which is open, the front bow which is open, and the inside area which had air conditioning. My tickets were for the front bow, but if I had wanted to sit inside, again, how would I have requested that? Did not have any options when booking through Viator. Maybe if you book through the operators website you can select options. While boarding the ship there were two bands, one inside and one on the top deck. I was glad that I was seated in the bow and did not have music blasting too loud while trying to talk and eat! The buffet was available upon getting seated and was available throughout the cruise. The food was fine and plentiful. Drinks were priced high, but not as high as the better hotels in Bangkok. Beer was about $5 USD. Overall, the cruise was a good value for the money.

We booked the dinner cruise with transfers, however we were not picked up because the driver had gone to the wrong hotel for us. We had to take a taxi to the River City from the hotel and were reimbursed without a question as we arrived at the Grand Pearl Cruise desk. The views from the boat were lovely, food was plentiful with numerous stations but failed to impress (we were also expecting more Thai dishes), cocktails tasted below average with way too much sugar (we had margaritas and Singapore sling), the band was very nice. The boat is quite big, so it can feel slightly crowded.

If you wonder why this particular dinner cruise options seems more expensive, here are the reasons:
1) You're on board the "Wonderful Pearl"--certainly the most attractive large boat on the river.
2) Seating is prime--on the upper air-conditioned deck. No, you're not topside in the open air but you can go up there if you want to take pictures but you'll appreciate the comfort below.
3) There is a dedicated buffet with very high quality dishes to include a "Japanese Bar" with excellent sushi and wonderful desserts. The food is a couple notches above what I saw on the buffet for the top deck.
4) You have dedicated and excellent entertainment to include a nice dance floor. The band plays appropriate dinner music through the first half of the voyage and switches to an excellent mix of high energy dance numbers for the second half. The acoustics are superb because excepting the windows nearly every surface is covered in fabric or carpet. The band performed a highly diverse group of song styles. All were excellent save "I Love You Just the Way You Are" which was butchered by the singer.

This is the sort of experience that makes any but the most jaded traveler happy to be alive and feeling fortunate to experience something so wonderful.

Hi, I made a reservation for today but they told me that there is no space, so I had to cancel the reservation, but TripAdvisor tells me that it will not return my money since it does not cancel with more than 24 in advance, please I need an answer of what will happen with my money
