Absolutely stunning and worth a visit, even if you are not religious.
I dont understand the comments from negative people about "tourist trap" etc.... did they actually think they would get the temple to themselves?
We booked a private trip and guide and got there early and minimal wait time, less than 10 mins to get in.
The architecture and effort that has gone into building this is amazing.
Most people very respectful when you are taking images for insta or whatever and plenty of opportunities.
On site store was very reasonably priced too.
For us, it was a great day out and would highly recommend.

Couldn’t believe how many adventures we fit into one day!! I swear we drove all over Thailand. Our guide was very knowledgeable and I definitely couldn’t have done this by myself. He knew all the right places to park, drove us to the temples with ease, and gave us an amazing buffet lunch too. Seeing the border of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand converging at the river was definitely the highlight. Such a beautiful place. We got to visit the opium museum too when the other group took the boat tour — which was informative and interesting. Seeing the hill tribe people was very humbling and I loved that too. The white temple was crowded but still beautiful! The best part was seeing the BLUE temple at the end of the day and since it was after dark, nobody was there! We had the whole place to ourselves.
Definitely try to book in advance and ensure clear communication with the driver on your location. There was some confusion for us and our driver went to the wrong hotel due to TA giving the wrong address. As always, communication is key! Awesome day though, glad we did it :)

Chiang Rai is the farthest city in the north where the famous White Temple located and Tea Plantation.White temple is unique because of its stunning,elegant structure and the most famous temple in Thailand.

The only downsite is that your not allowed to take pictures inside the temple. It had such a beautiful Wall painting.

The White Temple is a “must see” but be advised that the road up there from Chiangmai is under MAJOR CONSTRUCTION. The drive is just awful for close to an hour, about an hour North of Chiangmai. I was very tempted to jump out of the tour van and fly back to Chiangmai. My daughter was getting car sick from the twists and turns and deep potholes and broken gravel road surface. The shocks were shot on the van and we felt every bump. Dramamine pills saved the trip

日本語ガイドのツアーだと１万円近くしましたが、英語ツアーなら4,000円かからずに行けます。カタコトの英語力でも十分参加可能です。コスパを考えると英語ツアーでもOK！

14 hour trip, 10 of which was spent in the most awful minibus, with a useless guide, 1 small bottle of water all day, and they took us shopping, basically!
The White Temple was built only 22 years ago, is totally bling, and has all the feel of a Disneyland visit without the rides. If you’re into that sort of thing, fine, but we’re most definitely not! We’ve been loving the rich, deep culture of Thailand thus far........this place has less culture than a yogurt! Save your money, and go see some real, old temples.......plenty of them, and they are stunning!
The hot springs were even worse! Basically a service station with a hot pool, crammed with minibuses and tourists, with a 10 min queue to use the only toilet........again, give it a miss.
The “authentic, ethnic” village on this trip was anything but.........a dirt track to a small market with pushy women trying to sell stuff.......very un-Thai like. There are FAR better real villages to see, with real people selling real stuff worth buying.
The Golden Triangle visit saved the day.....just! Great experience to go on the Mighty Maekong river, boat up to Myanmar in 10 mins, then across the other side and land in Laos. Sure there’s another, Chinese, market there, but we got to drink Opium Vodka (you can buy it, but if you take it back to Thailand, you’ll be locked up for a long time! Seriously. This bit we loved, and would do again......the rest of it, no thank you!
We booked our trip via TripAdvisor, and it was run by a bunch of amateurs..........just useless! Told us nothing of interest, and we had a mutiny at the end to avoid yet another shopping “opportunity” and just get home!
Booked through TripAdvisor.....BIG mistake. Go online, book it yourself, or from your hotel, and save a fortune........plus you’ll get proper guides, a decent comfortable minibus, and can design your own itinerary.
Other than the Golden Triangle, a total waste of a precious day

Sir we have never got a complain for this tours and it is highly appreciated by others, white temple is highly pictures taken site, tourist places has got people as this the landmark, This is all your personal opinion with our tours, The price also for a 10 hours of trips with roundtrip transfer and all inclusion is quite affordable, once you book via tripadviser it is trust and your opportunity to express your good feeling. any we are sorry for your experience and it is really your personal experience we never have this type of report from anyone.
You can ask us via WhatsApp for someother way to create a private tour for VODKA in laos that is what you really appreciated. thanks a lot for your kind feedback.

I'll be going over in two parts today: 1 is the actual experience and 2 is the value of the experience.
1. It's a rushed tour but if you only have one day then it's absolutely worth it to see so much. The van is uncomfortable and the roads are tough to ride in but was a fun and fulfilling day. The initial hot springs is nothing so don't expect anything from that. The White Temple was amazing to see in person but quite crowded. You spend the most time at the Golden Triangle where there isn't much to see but it was fine to experience. One note is that they shove the tourist shopping down your throat. If you want cheap booze, cigarette, and knock-off's, wait until you get to Laos to buy them.
2. I HIGHLY recommend that you do NOT buy from TripAdvisor. I paid 1,500 baht and it only came with the bare minimum's. I had to dish out 300 baht to see the dragon ladies, another 300 baht for the boat ride to Laos, and 30 baht again to our tour guide. When I paid for this experience, I expected everything to be included and not to be nickled and dimed at every site. It was quite infuriating to me as I didn't bring a lot of cash that day and didn't have enough for souvenirs and such. Also, I talked to the other members of my tour group and they all paid different amounts (I also found out that I paid the most...). One person told me that he paid 1,200 baht which included everything! So I paid 930 baht extra for the same experience!
If you want to do this tour, book it somewhere else because these guys take a huge cut out of your admission.
