We wanted an authentic experience with my 13 years old son and it was great!
Captain “Eg” and fish-man “Pot” are super friendly, organized and so professional! Note that boats and captains are not necessarily those we had, as it’s based on availability.
Nature was generous with us that day, we took several fishes and a one of a kind monster. Mr Ungs picked us up at our hotel, he is also very nice and funny. From 9h to 17h30 (including travels)- 10h to 16h on the boat. Overall we recommend this activity!

They canceled the day before at 8 p.m. luckily I called to find out the meeting time and the departure address, he told me that they were full after which he finally changed the date to tell me that They broke the boat's engine so I'm still waiting for my refund via TripAdvisor zero zero no professional.

Wir haben mit 2 Familien direkt bei Mr. Ungs Fishing eine private Tour gebucht. Dies kostete für alle 7 Personen 13000 Baht. Dafür sollte man mehrere Spots anfahren und am Boot den Fang zubereitet bekommen. Ein spaßiger Tag für 2 Familien wobei einige schon Erfahrung am Fischen hatten. Als wir am Hafen abfahren sollten musste erst einmal das in die Jahre gekommene Fischerboot aufgetankt werden. (Später wurde dann an einem Fishingspot noch am Motor herumgebastelt und für eine ordentliche Ölspur gesorgt) Wir bekamen auch noch Verpflegung mit an Bord in Form von 7 Styroporpackungen "fried rice with chicken" (Kostet in einer günstigen Bude keine 100 Baht pro Portion). Dann fuhren wir mit dem Kahn zum ersten Spot wo wir nur kurz verweilten und 2 Köderfische (maximal 10 cm lang) fingen. Diese gaben die beiden Jungs an Bord in einen Kübel. Die beiden Herren also der Kapitän und sein Helfer sprachen übrigens kein Wort Englisch und nur Thai. Es ging dann zum nächsten Spot welche er immer mit dem Echolot suchte. Auch beim nächsten Spot war nichts zu fischen und nachdem mehrmals die Schnur riss, sollten wir erst einmal an einem Riff schnorcheln. Da sich das aber auch andere dachten, war das Riff belagert mit anderen Booten und von einer guten Sicht war man weit entfernt. Nach kurzer Zeit also Aufbruch zum nächsten Spot und dort wieder das Angelglück probiert. Davor durften wir noch die mittlerweile kalten (Hauptsache was zu essen) Boxen mit fried rice with chicken leeren. Nachdem auch hier nicht an einen Fang zu denken war, waren wir bald wieder im Hafen und um die Erfahrung reicher, dass man von einer Private Tour mit Mr. Ungs lieber die Finger lässt.

We had a wonderful day fishing with plentiful fishes waiting to eat our baits. Lunch and refreshemenrs were provided as mentioned and the best part was of course to BBQ and eat our freshly caught fishes 👍

We were taken out for a 6 hour round trip, we started by hugging for small fish and it was great to catch a handful of yellow fish and grouper etc. We then set off on the authentic Thai fishing boat towards an island reef for some snorkelling, on the way we were given some of the fish we had just caught with some chicken fried rice which went down a treat. After feeding the small fish at the snorkelling location with the provided watermelon we headed back to the port in Samui where we trailed a couple of rods, I caught a 13 pound Barracuda which was by far the highlight of the trip! They provided hydration and kept us safe along the great day out!

Had a lovely day on a fishing trip with Mr Ung's tour. Mr Dan, our guide was simply fantastic. We were also served a great lunch. Would definately recommend this tour, and hope to go again soon :)
