Excellent tour. Our hotel was out of the pick up zone so Ruby arranged a taxi for us there and back at no extra charge. The cookery class was fabulous and Ruby certainly livened things up with her energy and explanations. We toured the market for provisions first, then cooked pork and vegetable spring rolls with 2 types of salad, and beef pho - all super delicious. Spice tea, a beer, rice wine and coffee all included.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have picked such a good tour.

We did the vegan cooking class with Ruby and enjoyed it a lot. She showed us around at the local market and gave us some tips what to look for. The recipes were easy and super delicious and all the staff was super friendly.

I saw the 5 star reviews on TA for this school and I thought it can’t be that good. But we had nothing planned and thought why not…. Within 30 minutes of booking I got a WhatsApp message from Dana welcoming us and asking where we wanted to be picked up. Then I got a count down to the arrival of luxury minibus - perfect service. When Dana arrived she was a bundle of enthusiastic excitement, in love with her art and wanting to share the flavours of Hanoi with us. She took us to the market and showed us the most amazing sites and smells, describing the production of tofu and the merits of flank beef. From bamboos shoots to kumquat and kohlrabi, from banana stems to the most amazing fish sauce, we left the market laden with goodies and took them back to the bus and onto the kitchen. On arrival, Dana got into it with gusto, the same enthusiasm she showed in the market. We learnt about “the king” (fish sauce), “the queen” (sugar) and the children (chilli and garlic) and not forgetting “the neighbours” (kumquat and lime juice). With these and other ingredients, Dana catered to our every whim and skill set, encouraging and educating us though all the dishes. And at the end we got to eat our amazing creations in complete silence as everyone savoured every flavour. And at the end, we bid farewell to The Rose Kitchen and headed to the bus and onto the hotel with a full stomach and an appreciation of why this experience had so many 5 star reviews. Thank you Dana. We hope to see you again soon.

This was a wonderful cooking class. Our cooking instructor, Mango, provided so many helpful cooking hints and is a very accomplished chef. I highly recommend this cooking school.

One of my highlights in Hanoi. Communication & pickup from my hotel was excellent. Our chef Dana was brilliant, energetic, informative & fun. From shopping at the market through to preparation & sitting down to eat the meal, this was an experience not to miss.

Roses Kitchen cooking class with Dana was one of the most instructive and well organised cooking classes possible. Transport there and back was prompt and also instructive with Dana onboard.
The food was simple enough for everyone to be able to succeed but at the same time both challenging and intriguing enough to be educational.
Dana was clear, extremely competent and also entertaining. The venue was sublime. James.

Perfect cooking class with a perfect chef! We started the experience with a free pick-up from the city center, a visit for the market where we bought local products and where we were given some story telling on Vietnamese food culture. The cooking class was very rich, interesting and fun thanks to Ruby, a chef made of passion, joy and smiles! We had the impression to be cooking with a friend as she was very professional, engaging and helpful! We learned a lot in a very cozy atmosphere! The good was great and we had the perfect moment with Ruby! Thank you for everything!
