Our Pu Luong trekking trip has definitely been one of the highlights of our time in Vietnam. Mr Linh's adventures were very communicative and helpful over email while organising the trip. Our guide (Mr Hoa - John) and driver (Bao) were fantastic. They were so well organised, everything ran very smoothly without feeling rushed and Bao drove very safely. They also agreed to drop us off in Ninh Binh instead of Hanoi as this fitted better with our plans.
The landscapes were very beautiful and it was fascinating to see the rural economy in action, we were lucky to be there during rice harvest and Mr Hoa's excellent knowledge helped explain everything we were seeing. He also pointed out local plants that we passed by, and gave us lots of insights about Vietnamese life, history and culture. We also felt very safe with Mr Hoa (he was on the look out for snakes and dangerous dogs etc).
The walks took us off the beaten track on a range of terrains. As people who do a lot of hiking in the UK we found the distance and terrain enough to be enjoyable but not so much to be challenging. We didn't see any other tourists on hiking trails (only in villages).
All the lunch stops were very tasty (VERY generous portions!) and we enjoyed trying rural cuisine and eating rice with very low food miles!
The two homestays were in lovely locations next to the owners stilt homes, the people were really nice and food was good but be prepared for insects (although mosquito nets were provided to cover beds) and if you are from the UK, much larger spiders (although our guide said they weren't poisonous) and lower level of cleanliness than you might expect in the UK.
Also the weather was fantastic- sunny, no rain (we had been worried about aftermath of typhoon yagi but didn't encounter any problems) in early October.

We had a great experience on the tour, the weather was a bit cloudy and chilly but that was perfect to not be to warm. Son was a great tour guide and we had a great not too challenging tempo during the hike, he also showed us many plants and told us about the culture of the villages. It is a great way to experience and learn about Vietnamese culture, religion and history and see many pretty views. Really recommend!!

We went on a wonderful trek with Mr Linhs Adventure! Our guide’s name was Sun and our driver’s Bao. Such great views and overall really nice experience. Would recommend!

We loved the natural beauty and authenticity of the tour. Took us off the beaten track. Homestays were cozy and great food. Our guide’s name was Sun and driver Bao. Very knowledgeable and made the experience great!

We did 2 days trekking in Pu Luong and one day in Ninh Binh with the other day travelling. Weather was poor but the countryside was beautiful even Ninh Binh where the weather was torrential
For the price we paid (over $1k) the accommodation was poor quality. The Lo Van Nam Homestay was very basic, a mattress on the floor! While the Tam Coco bungalow was basic and dirty. I just don’t feel we got value for money although both areas are beautiful and I am glad we went.
It took 6 hours driving to get from the airport to Ou Luong which we weren’t expecting- Sapa would have been quicker..!

This tour was truly unforgettable! Mr. Loi and Mr. Long we’re wonderful guides. Mr.Loi was very knowledgeable about local ways of life and the different plants in the area, which was fascinating to learn about. My husband got sick on the trip and Mr. Loi was very helpful re-arranging the routes so that we had easier treks with lots of breaks. Mr. Long was a fantastic driver. He was great with us making lots of stops to see sights and views, and we always felt safe with him even on the more treacherous roads. This tour is definitely a highlight of our trip to Vietnam!

Mai Chau is known for its stunning natural landscapes, picturesque rice paddies, traditional stilt houses, and the cultural richness of the ethnic Thai minority group who reside in the area. And Pu Luong is a stunning landscape, with lush forests, terraced rice fields, and traditional villages. Many visitors come to immerse themselves in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of these two regions.
We are so sorry to hear that your husband got sick on the trip, and we are gratified that our staff, including Mr. Loi and Mr. Long did their best to make sure that you and your husband feel comfortable and satisfied during the long journey. Your kind words of praise will undoubtedly serve as a significant motivation for us to continue growing and improving.

We contacted Mr. Linh's adventures after finding the recommendation in our guide book. It was the best decision we could have made for our vacation. In fact, when our tour was almost ending, we booked another tour with Mr. Linh's adventures till the end our trip.
This was our first holiday outside of Europe and it ended up being a holiday we will always remember. I do believe that to be thanks to our amazing guide, Mr. Long, and skilled driver, Mr. Thanh.
Every step of the itinerary was well thought and nothing was left to chance. Over the course of our trip, Mr. Long adapted the itinerary as he got to know our preferences. We ended up hiking in remote villages, biking through the jungle and exploring nature with no tourist in sight. Our wonderful driver kept us safe as we drove both on narrow roads through remote mountains and crowded city streets as well. We felt immersed in the local culture thanks to Mr. Long who always took the time to explain and show us the villagers's way of life.
One special request that our group had was vegetarian food. We were a bit concerned about how that might turn out, but it was absolutely no issue for Mr. Long, who always made sure our food was adapted but still close to the local traditions. The food that we had on our tour was the best one we tried in Vietnam. We had sampled several restaurants in Hanoi, but none came close to the local food in the mountains.
As far as the accomodation is concerned, we stayed at both remote homestays but also fancier hotels. I loved the choice of the homestays and the fact that we had to go trekking between rice paddies and small villages in order to reach them.
5 stars is not enough to express how satisfied we are with our choice of contacting Mr Linh's adventures. At the end of our second trip it felt like we were leaving behind family.
