Great show, especially the starting act with traditional singing. I would recommend splurge on buying translation device as else difficult to grasp the story line.

By the way , I would like to notes for the other traveler that for tickets at Thang Long theater, they will not accept online vouchers for all customers so we will have to deliver tickets to the hotel to customers at least 24 hours in advance, so please note that drop your phone number , whatsaap , email and hotel name with your correct address in the booking to confirm it that you will definitely got the tickets and join the show
With any guest, our staff also actively message you immediately after you make a booking and at least 24 hours before your travel date.
Please check our messenger and contact with us before travel date as soon as possible to make sure that you got your paper tickets in advance.Thanks !

Be aware of this convenient way to buy tickets for the puppet show !!!!!
You pay double the Price, and the online tickets they send you do not work, because they only accept paper tickets. To get these tickets we had a lot of trouble, ended up waiting for 2 hours outside the theater, and came in 5 minutes after show start, because they did not have our tickets (which we were told). The show was nice, but the whole ticket experience was terrible. We picked this online payment option because the local agency (Hanoi zone tour) collaborate with Tripadvisor (it says on the website), but unfortunately it did not mean good service. I don’t understand why Tripadvisor ruins their good name collaboration with this scam company. You don’t need to buy online tickets to scip the Line, the Line was fast and many people bought the tickets only 10-30 minuttes before the start

That is true but only in case when you buy a ticket, there is still available for you to buy that day Or It is no matter for you to wait then catch for a cheap ticket in week travel

And of couse , when you buy ticket offline by yourself, in ergent case nobody change for you even theater , you have to pay full charge to get the new tickets.
To have online products for you to order, we have to pay for the TripAdvisor connection platform, pay staff salaries, ship fees, rent offices, run websites, and do marketing. Everything that will make our product that we deliver. So of course it will be more expensive than buying directly at the theater if you buy it then they still have slots for you that's why there is a difference between buying tickets directly at the theater and buying tickets online from them.
We think we absolutely deserve to be paid to help our customers get that advantage
Is that why we mean to you?
Is that why you should book tickets online instead of picking up tickets at the ticket desk?
That's why it's better to book online and pay an extra fee to see the show more conveniently?

Great show for sure. The music and puppetry were well choreographed and it was truly an enjoyable evening. My 6 year old was in a virtual trance from beginning to end.

Very satisfied. The guide had good knowledge of Vietnamese culture and lifestyle. The water puppet theatre show was just amazing, absolutely recommendable!

We enljoyed our walking tour , particularly the opportunity to interact with a local guide and learn more about Vietnam. We visited few plces in the old quarter we would not have visited by ourselves otehrwise. The Water Puppet Show was very beautiful and an art form that is unique to Vietnam.

You also want to get it conveniently and save time by having you buy online and not have to go and queue to the theater to buy your ticket, plus the ticket is delivered to your hotel. When you want to change show schedule on the last minutes free because of suddenly reason, we will work on that case to solve for you free . And of couse , when you buy ticket offline by yourself, in ergent case nobody change for you even theater , you have to pay full charge to get the new tickets.
To have online products for you to order, we have to pay for the TripAdvisor connection platform, pay staff salaries, ship fees, rent offices, run websites, and do marketing. Everything that will make our product that we deliver. Throughly enjoyed this one hour production, seamless changing of the characters. Tells the ancient story of the lake, returning of the sword, featured dragons, Phoenixes, and traditional village life. The accompanying music was delightful.
If you have a few spare days in Hanoi you can go and book the tickets yourself, my time was limited and this option worked very well, had no problems collecting the tickets. Also opted for the free tour around the old town, had a great afternoon and night.

Cherry, our guide, was very good. She met us at our hotel at 2pm. We walked to the Opera House first and then onto the French Quarter where we saw the grandeur of the Hotel Metropole Hanoi.
We walked to Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple where Cherry gave us a good summary of its history. Cherry was great at taking photos of us as we visited the sites.
Cherry took us to the Water Puppet Theatre for 4pm and waited for us until it finished at approx 5pm.
After the show, an absolute highlight was Cherry taking us to one of her favourite spots for coffee. She introduced us to an egg coffee. Amazing!
And, despite falling rain, Cherry was happy to keep walking with us showing us the Old Quarter’s market streets and allies. And onto one of the railway bridges. Cherry got us safely back to our hotel around 7pm.
Cherry was a delight. Very happy and friendly. I thought the tour was very good and would recommend using this company. It was a great way to be introduced to Hanoi for us first timers by AZ Local Trip.
