Amazing trip to Jordan

Hi, we booked a tailored made private tour that started with the Dana to Petra trek then 1 day in wadi Rum to finish in Aquaba for 1 day. The entire organisation was amazing starting with Raisa that took the time to add make this trip a really then with our tour guide Mahmoud who we share some much fun with. During the trip we spend 3 days with a local family (between Dana and little Petra) whiwh was awesome as we got to really learn the Bedouin culture and how welcoming they are. I highly recommend travelling with experience Jordan 10/10!!

Excellent Dana to Petra Trek

We enjoyed the Dana to Petra trek with Experience Jordan, followed by day trips to Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea. The trek was well paced, the camp sites were fun and the landscape interesting, especially the approach to Petra. Best of all was our guide Mahmoud, who was knowledgeable, entertaining and great company. We highly recommend him and the company.

Walking Dana to Petra

My partner and I did this trek as part of a 2 week tour of Jordan organised by Experience Jordan. The whole trip was just perfect and this trek is just a fantastic way to journey to Petra. The local guides were wonderful and give the trek its intimate feeling. I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Jordan.

Jordan is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people.

Motaz Zghoul and the support team were fantastic. I appreciate that he was willing to take us on the longer trail through Petra so we could see it from on high, even though it made a longer day for him. If he asks about “taking the long trail”, say “yes!”.

I also appreciate that Motaz text me back, after the tour, when I was trying to figure out how to enter a mobile number in a web form to make a dinner reservation. He didn’t have to answer — but he did — demonstrating his excellent customer service.

I enjoyed that the treks finished early so we had time to relax, read, self explore each afternoon.

Dinner was unusually early each evening (for me). I adapted by making sure I had a snack for when I actually tended to be hungry. There was plenty of food — so it was easy to grab a snack for later.

Experience Jordan’s recommendations for dining in Amman were excellent. Sufra was amazing and I’m glad I made that reservation. The views from the other recommended rooftop restaurants were fantastic too!

I found tipping on tour a little confusing - and I’m usually pretty good at figuring it out. I’ve never been on a tour before and this one had many support people, I wasn’t quite sure how to navigate it.

Shushan was very helpful prior to the trip. She was very communicative and made sure everything was in order for a successful trip.

Great trek and amazing sites!

I had a great time on my recent trip with Experience Jordan. The first part of the trip- the 5 day hike exceeded my expectations. My guide, Mahmood, was enthusiastic and shared his knowledge of Jordan whenever we asked: the culture, the land, the economics. Our safety always came first and this was evidenced on our first day when we experienced uncharacteristic rainfall that could have been dangerous as we were in the Canyon area. Mahmoud continuously monitored the weather and had backup plans in place. Since I went at the end of May/beginning of June, the weather was hot and Mahmood was constantly reminding us to hydrate and even had electrolyte packets available to keep our energy levels up. Our local guide and his family were friendly and welcoming. The home cooked meals were amazing and I cannot believe it was cooked out in the wilderness. The camps, though basic, were comfortable and were ready for us when we arrived at each site.

Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea were all incredible. Our Bedouin camps and hotels were fancier than I had expected. After a long 5 day hike, the sites were such a reward. I highly recommend this company and if you can, request Mahmood as your guide too!

Loved every minute of it. Our guide Motaz Zhgoul was just amazing. He went above and beyond to make this experience extraordinary; he es knowledgeable and warm, but above all he transmits true love for his culture and country, we ate good, laughed a lot.
We had some very hot days of trekking, but the staff at the camp made every day feel like home.
Our beduine guide Auda was the best, tea time with freshly picked herbs form the trek was the highlight of every lunch.

Will never forget the amazing hiking and scenery, the support crew, the hospitality, the food, the sunsets, the friendship of my fellow travellers and so much more. Musallam Dweik is a fabulous guide - very professional and caring. We were all very well looked after, and had a lot of fun! As well as the fantastic hiking, Wadi Rum was spectacular and the Dead Sea was a nice way to finish the trip!

Wonderfully organised tour that ticks all the boxes

This trip is a wonderful way to be active whilst also experiencing the best of Bedouin hospitality and learning about Jordanian history, especially if you are lucky enough to be led by our excellent tour guide, Motaz Zghoul.

This trip of just over a week can be roughly split into two halves: the first half hiking from Dana to Petra and the second half, enjoying the sights in Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea.

Prior to the trip I was apprehensive about the wilderness camping as it's not something I would normally choose to do but everything was set up for you by the time you arrived and that made it much easier to relax after a long hike. Furthermore, the meals we had while camping were the arguably nicest of the whole tour while Motaz and team entertained us with traditional songs and dancing in the evening.

The hiking was a decent challenge but not overbearing and was made harder on a couple of days by the heat. However, Motaz and Audi (our guide for the hike) kept our spirits up with frequent water and tea breaks and provided lots of snacks to keep our energy up. After three days practically hiking alone as a group, it was a shock to the system to be surrounded by crowds of people again (rather than flies!).

Walking around Petra and seeing the Monastery and Treasury up close was special and with just a day to spend inside the site, Motaz took us to the best bits.

Overall, I'm very happy with my choice to entrust my holiday plans to Experience Jordan and would not hesitate to recommend this trip to others.
