Mike was a great host. He shared a lot of cool info nad brought us to places we never would have gone. He made the whole experience very comfortable and authentic. We had a great time.

This was a very memorable experience! Mike was an amazing tour guide. I felt like he took us to the best places for each type of food. The background he gave during the tour made everything more meaningful. I really enjoyed the makgeolli tasting. It was a highlight. I would definitely recommend this tour. Mike was at the meeting place on time, very responsive to messaging prior to the tour and an all around nice guy!

Our tour guide Mike is the man! No frills, says it how it is. He didn't shy away from giving his brutally honest opinion of popular food & drink spots, hotspots to visit and other hot topics of Korea. He spent alot of time in the U.S., so there's no language barrier for English speakers. He gave us alot of history of Seoul and the food culture, taking us to food markets, restaurants and hidden gems, saving some of the good drink spots until the end. Of the 5 nights we spent in Korea, this tour was definately a highlight. Our group had about 10 people, most of whom did not know each other, we were laughing together by the end. After the food tour, we ended up going to a spot he recommended called 7.8 (a more hip/upscale version of the 7.8 he initially took us to), it was amazing. Appreciate you Mike! -Carlos

I was not satisfied regarding the price you pay before and the fact that the guide keeps taking money from you throughout the tour. We were a group of 9 and if you keep track of the times he would collect 10000 kwn from each person in comparison to what you get at the end it doesn’t really add up.
If you are not that open to food or stayed more inside your hotel than going out the tour is quite good but if you are a foodie the things he is showing you are things you could find on your own by strolling through the city.
I cannot recommend the tour from my side but if you are traveling alone the rice wine testing is nice since you have the opportunity to try up to 4 different wines of your choice although you can get that experience for a less expensive price. (Example: The most expensive bottle is 27000kwn but if you go to the grocery store it would be only 13000kwn)

Great tour! You get a taste of classic food and visit places you'd never find on your own. Mike is very passionate and very particular so he only takes you to the best places. You get to learn about the food and customs as you go. Since Mike does this so often he has a great relationship with the vendors/owners so you get special treatment you otherwise wouldn't get! Make sure you bring cash, everyone pools their won together to order dishes to share. You'll get plenty to eat and drink.

The tour was just what I needed, a varied introduction to Korean food. I got to try many interesting dishes that I might not try on my own. The guide was great and friendly. Native English ability, so perfect to understand. My recommendation is if you have something you have heard of and would like to try ask your guide at the beginning and he will try to accommodate you. Don’t be afraid of the extra cost for the food. I paid 18 USD for food and drink.

I hate to leave a negative review, but we had a terrible time on this tour. After completing a few more food tours on our trip to South Kore and Japan, I highly recommend booking a tour where the food and drink are included in the price of the ticket. I'd like to give our tour guide the benefit of the doubt and think he was having a bad day because it was obvious he didn't enjoy taking our group on the food tour. In the description he says three drinks are included, but they are not. He also says you'll need 'some' cash, but you need more than that. We quickly ran out of cash and when asked to use a card to pay, he was quite rude and difficult. He talked down to our group and even made a rude comment about one of the guests. He was also quick to tell you how he hates certain cities, countries, etc. and when guests asked him for his recommendations, he would say how he has no favorites. To be honest, I was nervous for the other food tour we had booked because of how terribly this one went. Our group almost cancelled it, but we decided to give it a try and we had a great time. Our second food tour showed me what this tour could have been like if the guide would have been more engaged and welcoming with our group.

Hi. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy the experience. Everything that is written in the tour description is exactly the way I run my tours.
I have never once in my life been rude to any of my guests though. This is my personal business so there would be absolutely no reason for me to be rude. I am not an employee and I have never had anybody give this tour besides me to this date.
As for the cash situation, I would always find a solution to assist you whether you pay with your card and I give you the difference in cash or I take you the thousands of ATM's that we have throughout the city and on my tour.
I am more than happy to give any sort of recommendations to any guests on my experience during the tour or after. I give you my personal contact just so that you can message me for more recommendations for entire stay in Korea. It honestly makes me sad when people don't take advantage of my recommendations because I truly want everybody that visits my country to have the best experience with food and drinks.

Was in Seoul on a solo trip for a few days and decided to go on a food tour to get to know the city. Really great experience with a great group of people! Mike was super knowledgeable and shared his passion for good food. All the spots we went to were 10/10 - I felt they represented the local experience and food culture really well. I was super full by the end of it. I would 100% do the same tour again!

Mike was an awesome tour guide! He is very personable and knowledgeable about the history of the different stalls around the market. He took us to places that I would never thought of going to which ended up such an amazing experience. He educated us with a bit of Korean culture, the food and the delicious Korean rice wine. This tour is a must if your visiting Seoul.

Mike is really nice and provides the background/history of the markets/stalls. It is my first time in the ROK and I really wanted to try the food markets- this tour is a great way to experience the markets and go to the best places. Was a lot of fun!

Hello! my friend and I are interested in this tour but she is allergic to seafood/fish. Will we still have plenty to eat by avoiding seafood? or was this pretty heavy on the seafood?

it was about 50-50 between seafood and non-seafood. so there is plenty to eat and also the guide can make the apropriate accomodations for you. many places make sure to ask if you have any allergies so i think there is awareness to such issues

I can’t see why not. There are parts of the tour that involve alcohol, but she could obviously have a soft drink instead.
He’s a great communicator, so I’d recommend you get in touch with him. I’m sure he’d be able to let you know either way.
