We had an amazing holiday in Egypt, thanks largely to Egypt Day Tours and the extremely hospitable team who hand held us start to finish.
Here are our observations:
1) From the day we first reached out to the Agency, the assigned contact person (Ahmed Attarious) coordinated and continued to respond promptly, answering each and every question or doubts that we had.
2) We wanted a customized private package to our liking (not a group package), and the Agency willingly accommodated the same . The coordinator worked closely with us in finalizing the locations of our choice- Giza, Aswan, Luxor, Alexandria and Port Said- and explained to us in detail about the places to visit in each location , including a few do's and don'ts.
3) We also wanted to select the hotels of our choice, and the coordinator eagerly accommodated those hotels into our package (Hilton Heliopolis @Cairo; Pyramisa Isis @ Aswan; Hilton Corniche @ Luxor; and Palma Hotel @ Port Said ), instead of the standard offering.
4) Once we finalized the 8-day package, the coordinator guided us step by step with the e-Visa application and documentation process.
5) Upon reaching Egypt, there was an assigned tour guide waiting for us at the Airport, and he helped us through the Immigration process, and dropped us at our hotel.
6) Each tour guide was a highly proficient Egyptologist (with a professional degree from Cairo University), and had tons of knowledge and insights about the 7000 year history of Egypt to share. They also had a lot of tips on food, shopping, culture, to share with us. Special shoutout to Khalid, Jean, Maqboola (Mona), Ayub, and Osama for literally being our guiding light for those days !
7) The handover from one Guide to another, across each location and on each day, was absolutely flawless. This is the highlight of the entire trip, and we felt at ease that someone is always around throughout the entire trip. Not once did we have to wait or wonder about our next steps . Everything was meticulously planned and executed .
8) The vehicles assigned for pickup-drop, sightseeing, and inter city movements were very comfortable (Toyota Hiace), and we had the finest drivers (esp. Mahmoud Alavandy from Cairo, and Mahmoud from Luxor).
9) The price for the package was extremely competitive .
10) Due to a technical issue, we were unable to make the remaining payment on third day (we had only made a 20% initial payment at the time of booking). The Agency continued with the trip without any interruption or reminders, and gave us time to work with our bank for the payment. This speaks volumes of their work ethics and hospitality.
Last but not the least, the icing on the cake was the extremely courteous and professional demeanor of each and every person associated with Egypt Day Tours.
We would go all the way out to share this with all in our circle, so that they too could experience this small piece of heaven as we did.

We had an amazing week in Egypt thanks to Egypt Day Tours. Ahmed took care of every last detail for us so we were able to enter the country and just enjoy. We were met at the airport by a representative who then escorted us to our hotel. The next morning our guide Mina met us and took us all over Cairo. He was kind, knowledgeable and well-connected with the locals. We saw temples, pyramids and mummies. A few days later we flew to Luxor to get on a small boat, a Dahabiya. It was not luxurious by any means but it was wonderful. There were only 12 guests on board. We were treated so kindly by the staff and fed like kings. The best part of our Nile cruise was our guide Amr. He was so patient with our silliness. He was kind and so knowledgeable and felt like family by the end of the week. We saw beautiful temples and ruins all along the Nile for 4 days. Amr paced us well. Some days were busy and some days we were able to relax. We flew back to Cairo and two of our party flew home. Ahmed took care of all the details of getting us to the airport and arranging all in-country flights.
The rest us of us flew on to Sharm el Sheik for a few days on our own. When we flew back into Cairo, Osama was there waiting for us to make our connecting flight home.
We fell in love with Egypt and we are so thankful that we had this wonderful company that took such good care of us!

We had a great time in Egypt with a full support of Egypt Day Tours. Maro, Egypt Day Tour's manager in Cairo was absolutely great and gave us instruction, support and care, which made our life much easier. We got assistance from since the first minute we arrived in Cairo and It lasted until we have departed Egypt. Very personal tour. Thanks Maro! Good guides as well, mainly Eslam, in Cairo, and Ibrahim along our Nile Cruise. I really reccomend a private tour.

I had an opportunity to visit Dubai and Egypt all in one vacation. We visited many of the mosque, the Burj Khalifa, the beach, mall and other activities with Great tour guides. Upon our arrival in Egypt we utilized the same tour company which is very rare. Our tour guides in Egypt were also exceptional and VERY knowledgeable. ~GIZA Pyramids/Cairo~
It's not every day you get to be in amongst so much beautiful history. Our tour guide, Sayed (Bazooka) was absolutely incredible as well as our driver, Mustafa. We were picked up at 8am and from there we were taken straight to the Giza Pyramids. From the start and throughout the day, Sayed explicated to us so many minute details about ancient Egypt and the relics and wonders we saw. We had the opportunity for $23 extra dollars to go inside the Giza Pyramid which was well worth it. It was quite a climb and a bit hot, but being inside the room where such a prominent King from thousands of years ago lay was truly a wonder. From there, we spent $10 each to ride camels (Ships of the Desert) through the desert next to the Giza Pyramids. Throughout our time, Sayed took many many pictures of my friend and I making sure to get the best angles. We then went to the Sphinx and saw other relics around that area. After that we got to go to the Papyrus Museum and have an interactive tour there. Afterwards, we went to a perfumery where we got to sample many scents. Next, we were taken to a wonderful, delicious lunch that will go down as one of the best meals of this year (beef, rice chicken kebabs, eggplant, tomato, potatoes, baba ganoush, tzatziki, dates, and Turkish coffee). After, we got to visit the Cairo Museum. It was here that Sayed really walked us through individual pieces of arts and their significance. I appreciate his respectful and thorough manner in which he taught us about the history. Sayed went above and beyond for us. We needed sunblock too and he made sure we made an extra stop at the Pharmacy to get some. Overall, this was an incredible incredible life changing experience. It's not every day you get to see a wonder of the world. It was a very hot day and I appreciate his service to us.
My best friend and I came to Egypt for our annual girls trip. For this leg of the trip, we explored Aswan, Kom Ombo, Esna, and Luxor on a wonderful Nile Cruise. Amr, our guide throughout the entire tour, was extremely thorough in his explanations of the ancient hieroglyphics and relics. You could tell he is passionate about the preservation of history.
~ASWAN~
First, we were greeted by Amr, our brilliant tour guide. He greeted us warmly at the airport and we were taken via an air conditioned large van to see the High Dam and Aswan Dam. Amr described to us the importance of the High Dam to bring water to all parts of Egypt and it’s importance.
PThen, we took a small boat to the Temple of Philae. This temple was our first temple of the trip, we were able to go into the various rooms of the temple where Amr described their Greco-Roman influences. It was fascinating
~THE CRUISE EXPERIENCE~
Then, we were taken to our cruise the M/S Le Terrace, now it was an older cruise ship that partners mainly with a German company, so my friend and I were practically the only Americans. The food on the cruise was actually not very good at all, really bad to be quite honest. For what it was though, the cruise had everything we needed and more—a pool, a gym, bar/food service, photo services, etc. After talking to Amr, he explained that next time we can actually pick our specific cruise/hotels upon our preferences, so that was good to know. Everything on the cruise smelled a very odd smell that wasn’t very appealing, but then again I thought we would be on a cargo-like ship. My last words on the cruise, is that the employees were friendly and did their best to communicate and be as accommodating as possible, however, ultimately for me, it was just a vessel to get from point A to point B.
~Kom Ombo~
The next day after Aswan, we pretty much had a sailing day. We arrived at the Temple of Kom Ombo after 5pm. What made this temple fascinating was the importance of the Crocodile to the Ancient Egyptians and the intriguing Crocodile Museum. It was quite crowded around the temple at the time, so Amr made sure we saw the highlights but was respectful of our time to get through the crowds of people with a solid pace.
~Esna~
So, we were supposed to go to Edfu; however the city is having to reconstruct some of their roads, so we had the opportunity to see Esna, and this was one of my favorite locations on the trip. This location doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic from tourists, so it was nice to buy some water and snacks at the local market. Then, we walked down some stairs to the gorgeous temple. This temple was buried under sand and has most of the original coloring preserved. It was a treat!
~Luxor East Bank~ (Karnak and Luxor Temple)
On the same day we saw Esna, we sailed and saw The East Bank of Luxor in the afternoon. Seeing the temples and pyramids throughout the trip had been fascinating, but I was absolutely blown away by the grandeur of Karnak temple. Despite it being thousands of years old, many statues, obelisks, and gargantuan columns remain—with their color in tact. Luxor was similar in size but a smaller temple. There appeared to be a concert being set up in the middle of the Luxor temple for a concert later that night.
~Luxor West Bank (Valley of the Kings)~
We spend the night in the cruise docked at Luxor and the next morning we were picked up and disembarked the cruise. We were taken to the Valley of the Kings. First, Amr sat with us in the visitors center and told us the history of what we were going to see —tour guides aren’t allowed in some of the areas because the condensation from their breath can break down the paint in the tombs. My friend and I got to go into the Tombs of Ramses the I, IX and III. It was very warm inside the tombs and there was a man “giving out” cardboard to fan yourself, but beware, he adamantly expected a tip after. It was here at the Valley of the Kings where King Tut is buried; however it was an extra fee.
~Temple of Hatshepsut~
After the Valley of the Kings, Amr took us to a beautiful, authentic Alabaster shop where we got to buy precious minerals to take home as souvenirs. Then, we saw the Temple of Hatshepsut where you have to walk up 2 very long flights of stairs. She was the only woman to be buried in the Valley of the Kings so it was interesting to know more about her history. Lastly, we were taken to a gourmet lunch in Luxor where we were fed a gorgeous and delicious spread of kofta, rice, potatoes, tomatoes, tahín, mixed vegetables and more! Then, we were taken back in the van to the airport for our last night in Cairo.
~Amr, Our Guide~
Amr, our brilliant wonderful tour guide made us feel welcomed on day one. He possesses a deep knowledge of Egyptian history and it was very easy to understand his English. One day on the trip, my friend and I needed extra shampoo, conditioner, allergy medicine and lotion and Amr went out of his way and had it ready for us before dinner on the cruise. He not only led us on the tours of the temples, but he also joined us on the cruise to make sure we had everything we needed. He seemed to know everyone in every place and was all-around 5 stars—friendly, patient, respectful. He really went out of his way to make us feel safe in such a foreign country to us.
~The Weather~
We went the first week of October 2022 and the weather is quite hot, everywhere. However still be aware to dress accordingly with respect the Muslim custom. In Aswan, the temperatures got up to 102 and Luxor was about 98-100. The evenings were quite nice on board the cruise where we had nice breezes.
~Tipping~
Be prepared to tip everywhere and anywhere. It’s not explicitly said, but it’s strongly implied and sometimes strongly enforced. My friend and I brought $150 USD each that we converted to Egyptian Dollars. Make sure to have small bills too for drivers, people who carry your bags, etc. $150 total was enough for each of us to do adequate tipping and buy some souvenirs.
It's not every day you get to be in amongst so much beautiful history. Our tour guide, Sayed (Bazooka) was absolutely incredible as well as our driver, Mustafa. We were picked up at 8am and from there we were taken straight to the Giza Pyramids. From the start and throughout the day, Sayed explicated to us so many minute details about ancient Egypt and the relics and wonders we saw. We had the opportunity for $23 extra dollars to go inside the Giza Pyramid which was well worth it. It was quite a climb and a bit hot, but being inside the room where such a prominent King from thousands of years ago lay was truly a wonder. From there, we spent $10 each to ride camels (Ships of the Desert) through the desert next to the Giza Pyramids. Throughout our time, Sayed took many many pictures of my friend and I making sure to get the best angles. We then went to the Sphinx and saw other relics around that area. After that we got to go to the Papyrus Museum and have an interactive tour there. Afterwards, we went to a perfumery where we got to sample many scents. Next, we were taken to a wonderful, delicious lunch that will go down as one of the best meals of this year (beef, rice chicken kebabs, eggplant, tomato, potatoes, baba ganoush, tzatziki, dates, and Turkish coffee). After, we got to visit the Cairo Museum. It was here that Sayed really walked us through individual pieces of arts and their significance. I appreciate his respectful and thorough manner in which he taught us about the history. Sayed went above and beyond for us. We needed sunblock too and he made sure we made an extra stop at the Pharmacy to get some. Overall, this was an incredible incredible life changing experience. It's not every day you get to see a wonder of the world. It was a very hot day and I appreciate his service to us.
My best friend and I came to Egypt for our annual girls trip. For this leg of the trip, we explored Aswan, Kom Ombo, Esna, and Luxor on a wonderful Nile Cruise. Amr, our guide throughout the entire tour, was extremely thorough in his explanations of the ancient hieroglyphics and relics. You could tell he is passionate about the preservation of history.
~ASWAN~
First, we were greeted by Amr, our brilliant tour guide. He greeted us warmly at the airport and we were taken via an air conditioned large van to see the High Dam and Aswan Dam. Amr described to us the importance of the High Dam to bring water to all parts of Egypt and it’s importance.
PThen, we took a small boat to the Temple of Philae. This temple was our first temple of the trip, we were able to go into the various rooms of the temple where Amr described their Greco-Roman influences. It was fascinating
~THE CRUISE EXPERIENCE~
Then, we were taken to our cruise the M/S Le Terrace, now it was an older cruise ship that partners mainly with a German company, so my friend and I were practically the only Americans. The food on the cruise was actually not very good at all, really bad to be quite honest. For what it was though, the cruise had everything we needed and more—a pool, a gym, bar/food service, photo services, etc. After talking to Amr, he explained that next time we can actually pick our specific cruise/hotels upon our preferences, so that was good to know. Everything on the cruise smelled a very odd smell that wasn’t very appealing, but then again I thought we would be on a cargo-like ship. My last words on the cruise, is that the employees were friendly and did their best to communicate and be as accommodating as possible, however, ultimately for me, it was just a vessel to get from point A to point B.
~Kom Ombo~
The next day after Aswan, we pretty much had a sailing day. We arrived at the Temple of Kom Ombo after 5pm. What made this temple fascinating was the importance of the Crocodile to the Ancient Egyptians and the intriguing Crocodile Museum. It was quite crowded around the temple at the time, so Amr made sure we saw the highlights but was respectful of our time to get through the crowds of people with a solid pace.
~Esna~
So, we were supposed to go to Edfu; however the city is having to reconstruct some of their roads, so we had the opportunity to see Esna, and this was one of my favorite locations on the trip. This location doesn’t get a lot of foot traffic from tourists, so it was nice to buy some water and snacks at the local market. Then, we walked down some stairs to the gorgeous temple. This temple was buried under sand and has most of the original coloring preserved. It was a treat!
~Luxor East Bank~ (Karnak and Luxor Temple)
On the same day we saw Esna, we sailed and saw The East Bank of Luxor in the afternoon. Seeing the temples and pyramids throughout the trip had been fascinating, but I was absolutely blown away by the grandeur of Karnak temple. Despite it being thousands of years old, many statues, obelisks, and gargantuan columns remain—with their color in tact. Luxor was similar in size but a smaller temple. There appeared to be a concert being set up in the middle of the Luxor temple for a concert later that night.
~Luxor West Bank (Valley of the Kings)~
We spend the night in the cruise docked at Luxor and the next morning we were picked up and disembarked the cruise. We were taken to the Valley of the Kings. First, Amr sat with us in the visitors center and told us the history of what we were going to see —tour guides aren’t allowed in some of the areas because the condensation from their breath can break down the paint in the tombs. My friend and I got to go into the Tombs of Ramses the I, IX and III. It was very warm inside the tombs and there was a man “giving out” cardboard to fan yourself, but beware, he adamantly expected a tip after. It was here at the Valley of the Kings where King Tut is buried; however it was an extra fee.
~Temple of Hatshepsut~
After the Valley of the Kings, Amr took us to a beautiful, authentic Alabaster shop where we got to buy precious minerals to take home as souvenirs. Then, we saw the Temple of Hatshepsut where you have to walk up 2 very long flights of stairs. She was the only woman to be buried in the Valley of the Kings so it was interesting to know more about her history. Lastly, we were taken to a gourmet lunch in Luxor where we were fed a gorgeous and delicious spread of kofta, rice, potatoes, tomatoes, tahín, mixed vegetables and more! Then, we were taken back in the van to the airport for our last night in Cairo.

We booked a tour from India and went to Aswan and from there we started our Nile cruise and saw the temples. It was an amazing experience. Then the cruise dropped us as Luxor and after the tour we left for Cairo there we went to the pyramids ,museum and the market. We also went to Alexandria for a day tour in totality it was a great experience more than the words can explain as we were travelling with a toddler we had our own difficulties but the tour was very well arranged.
We got a representative at every point . The tour guides were really good, well equipped with detailed information. We had Mohommad 'Super Mo'. Apart from the tour he was so thoughtful about our little one which really helped us enjoy more. He explained about the temples and the carving and if either of us were behind cause of our little one he waited to explain. Gave us time to click picture post he did the tour. So Super Mo is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Cairo cannot say much about the guide as he was more into getting the tour over with typer of guide.
Alexandria was beautiful and Rania our guide helped us explore it more. Even she is highly recommended.
NOW FOR THE CONS:
1. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT TIPPING- GIVE AS MUCH AS YOU WISH AND AS MUCH AS YOUR POCKET ALLOWS.
2. NO MATTER HOW MANY STORES YOUR GUIDE TAKES- YOU BELIEVE ME THEY ARE NOT THE LAST ONES .. BUT THEY ARE EXPENSIVE ONES. YOU CAN GET THE SAME STUFF(WHICH THEY WILL SAY YOU WONT BUT YOU WILL) IN THE LOCAL MARKET ESPECIALLY CAIRO MARKET.
FORGOT TO MENTION -CAIRO KHANE KHALIL BAZAAR IS A MUST. YOU WILL GET ALMOST EVERYTHING. DONT FORGET TO BARGAIN 🤣

Do I need visa to enter Cairo with us passport?

As Brazildj states, you can get your tourist visa at the airport prior to going through customs/immigration. We met our Egypt Day Tours representative after we picked up our luggage, so we had to get our visas ourselves. An easy process at a kiosk, and you can exchange money at the same time.
