Dendera and Abydos are breath taking. They are indeed the most preserved temples that we got to see in our 10 days in Egypt trip. The colors in the wall, the carvings, the stories in walls and ceilings just get you into the mysticism and magic of the Egyptian gods and godesses. We were so lucky to have Ahmed as our guide. His vast knowledge of history and spirituality could only bring much more to an already sensational experience in both temples. Ahmed and driver Mohammad make us feel as if we were traveling with friends. Thank you Ahmed! Thank you Mohammad 🙏🏻

Terrible experience at Dendarah and Abydoss. I'm including here the points I raised with the agencyby email, for transparency:
Both the driver and the guide were lovely people and I wish them well, however, the trip was not a good experience.
I don't want the guide to get in trouble but the service we received was not what I paid for.
In theory we booked and Egyptologist to show us around. In practice we got 5 minutes maximum of information in each temple. There is a lot to say about the temples and I have to say I learnt nothing on the day (apart from what I checked on Google...funnily enough the guide herself was checking Wikipedia when she woke up on the way to Abydoss).
I know the guide does other tours and I know you messaged me the day before saying there were no Spanish guides so my guess is that you sent her because you didn't have other people, not because this is her area of expertise.
It was a very disappointing experience specially as Dendarah was one of my favourite temples in all Egypt.
The agency immediately responded that a refund would impact the guide. The guide should have made an effort and research but the agency are the ones who provided an unqualified guide so I don't see why this should hurt a single mum of two and not an unprofessional agency.
This trip was my biggest regret in Egypt where I have to say I wasn't lucky with any guides.
Other than that Egypt was incredible, everybody should go at least once.

Reham, our tour guide, covered several scenes of reliefs and hieroglyphs which we wanted to understand a bit more. She enhanced our knowledge of the temples, their purpose and reasons why the architecture was mixed or different. Very knowledgeable, thank you Reham we will be back next year.

Our guide Ahmed-Omar and driver Ali were excellent they were friendly and not pushy and asked our preferences for everything. Ahmed was a great informative guide and took us to a great local restaurant for lunch in Abydos. Could not recommend both them and the temples visited highly enough.

Ryam our guide was lovely and knowledgeable. The car was decent and Ali the driver managed the journey in style. Good driving even if challenging at times due to the nature of the road.
Both temples are incredibly beautiful and are worth the 6h drive.

There was a little bit of a misunderstanding with the pick up, but the guide, Samer was amazing, so knowledgeable. He went beyond normal touristic information and into the details of the temples and history.

It is about 3 hrs, each way, from Luxor but the temples are magnificent. Our guide, Ahmed Omar, was excellent. In addition to the detailed explanations about the temples, he also gave us a summary of ancient Egyptian history that helped to put everything in perspective and appreciate even more the visit.
The colors still present on the columns are beautiful and the carvings well preserved. The areas that have been cleaned compared to the ones that have not gone to the process yet, shows the skills and dedication of the Egyptian people to their historic sites. It was special to see the list of many kings carved on one of the walls. A record of different dynasties.
And yes, we saw, the alleged helicopter and space ship on the carvings. They really don't look like such

Ahmed Omar was our guide and is very knowledgeable and nice. You can feel that he is passionate about history and loves what he does. Loved the temples worth a visit.

Schon die Fahrt mit Abd Rabo war ein Erlebnis. Er hat uns sicher und mit viel Humor durch den Verkehr gebracht. Die Tempel sind einige km entfernt, insgesamt kommt man an dem Tag auf ca 6h Fahrt. Die Landschaft ändert sich schnell und man sieht Einiges, zwischendurch besucht man ja die beiden Tempel und macht nach Bedarf kleinere Stopps. An Snacks und Getränke wurde gedacht.
Die Tempel liegen weit voneinander entfernt und bieten tolle Einsichten in die spätere Zeit, in der Römer und Griechen Einfluss nahmen. Die Architektur zeigt das mit sehr hohen Decken, in der Ausführung der Wandbemalungen und Gravuren und Neuerungen wie einer Wendeltreppe. Besonders Dendara hob sich von allen mir bekannten Bauwerken in Ägypten ab.
Der Guide war in seinem Element, man spürte die Liebe zu diesen beiden Tempeln. Hingebungsvoll erklärte er sämtliche Zusammenhänge professionell. Man hatte fast den Eindruck, er wohne dort und zeigt einem das Zuhause. Absolut klasse! Sein Deutsch war sehr gut.
Bitte plant den gesamten Tag ein. Aufgrund des ständigen wechselnden Verkehrs und der plötzlich gesperrten Verkehrswege kann der Ausflug auch plötzlich länger andauern. Zu meinem Vorteil: Wir hatten einen Riesenspaß und es war einer der schönsten Ausflüge in meinem Urlaub! Vielen, vielen Dank EmoTours!!!
