An Adventure on the Nile.

fantastic adventure. The boat was superb and the satff friendly. We also had a guide with us from Classic Holidays - his name is Hany Refaat. He has a PhD in Egyptology and his knowledge was outstanding. He also helped with general issues such as a bank and a pharmacy. We highly recommend him and Classic Holidays. Gill, Pete and Ryland

A trip down the Nile on the MS Princess

Set sail from Luxor on this vessel Jan 2024, 7 nights on the Princess followed by 3 nights in Cairo......what an experience! exceeded all our expectations, staff and crew where a delight to deal with....food was excellent, service great. Our Guide Sammie (not his real name) was a wealth of information pointing out things and giving an explanation as he went along, charming man. The Princess its fair to say is looking a little tired in some areas....but this doesnt detract from her overall charm and character......it should be noted that only one other boat we tied up alongside appeared in better shape out of the many that ply the Nile.....we where quite proud to be a guest onboard........for us this cruise is a must if ever you get the chance.

A wonderful cruise and experience

Absolutely stunning amazing trip. What a beautiful setting cruising down the Nile watching the world go by. The staff, accommodation and food were all faultless. Although the trips can get quite tiring over the first 4 days of the cruise and they do become quite samey, they are not to be missed for the amazing history and beautiful sights.

Watching the world go by on The Nile ❤️🇪🇬

We spent 7 nights in this boat early November 2023 booking through Orbital Travel. The boat is beautiful and has the feeling of old imperial grandeur. The cabins are well equipped though as you would expect on a boat of this size small. The Juliet balcony is a lovely addition allowing you view the shores of The Nile from your bed. Plenty of wardrobe space. Showers are small but great water pressure.
The sweeping staircase looks like a mini titanic and great for photos.
The food was of a good standard and the staff extremely attentive, warm and friendly.
The best bit is the sun deck, very comfy seating and plenty of sunbeds. Watching the Nile float by is magical and the bonus of a bar on the sun deck.
Our guide Hany Refaat was brilliant. His knowledge and passion shone through at every temple and excursion. He was always available to answer any questions and looked after us so well.
Couple of points to be aware of.
1. Many boats sail together between the various stops and the belch out vast amounts of diesel which are there is no getting away from.
2. Boats more up side by side so when I’m port you are unlikely to have a view from your balcony.
I loved every moment of this trip, this amazing country of history and would highly recommend seeing its magnificent monuments, temples and culture ❤️🇪🇬

What an amazing cruise!

We booked through Classic holidays to cruise on the Esadora, but a week before we were due to cruise, we were changed to the Royal Princess. Initially we were very disappointed however once we arrived we were OK. Our guide for the week Safwat was amazing. He couldn't do enough for you and was an excellent guide the whole week. We were travelling as two couples, all inclusive. When we arrived late due to the flight being delayed from Cairo, we found out we had been given the two suites at the front of the boat, as they hadn't been booked. Wow. Absolutely amazing! Every member of staff was incredible, from the cleaner to bar staff to the manager. So attentive, with the best towel art we've had! The bar staff remembered what drinks we liked, the restaurant staff remembered what food we liked and special mention to them who brought me my own creme caramel after dinner 😅❤️. Would highly recommended this cruise ship, brilliant 👏

Nile Cruise ups and downs

The cruise was excellent made special by the group of people we met and the Orbital tour guide Emad.
The excursions and transportation were well organised and the sites visited simply amazing.
The staff onboard were pleasant but the boat fell well below our reasonable expectations. We were not expecting UK 5* but even then the standards were very poor.
The room was dirty and in need of a good deep clean but was of a low quality and in need of a substantial freshening up or ideally a total refit. The aircon, despite our complaints, only worked occasionally providing only slightly cooler air than outside which made it very uncomfortable.
The food was repetitive with limited choice and often not hot.
The sun beds were poor with uncomfortable and dirty covers and the plunge pool and “hot tub” were dirty and we literally could not see the bottom of the pool until they changed the water on day 5 and only after some 60% of the group fell ill with the dreaded tummy bug despite all taking extra precautions and being very careful.
The staff generally were very pleasant and did their best to please but given the number of people who fell ill there should really be more help in finding medication which we subsequently found out was easily available. It seemed that the very common health issues which many faced are simply ignored rather than addressed and hence appropriate assistance is not given.
The lobby areas were better finished and cleaner so it’s a shame the same level of care isn’t applied to the rooms.
I accept that I am no expert at hotel star ratings but have stayed at many locations across the world and would rate this as between 2 and 3 stars.
We read the other and favourable reviews on this site for the boat before we booked but our experience was, regrettably, very different.

MS Royal Princess a lovely cruise

This was a delayed cruise due to Ms esadora being unavailable early October
In fact the esadora seems to have frequent problems with overbooking? and has a range of excuses?
Anyway the royal princess was much more impressive and the staff and accommodation food and service are all great. You are well looked after.
My only reservation is that the sightseeing is hard work requiring stamina and determination.
This is no fault of the boat or the tour guide.
The number of boats and people at each stop is huge.
For example
Abu Simbel I decided I would regret not making the effort to see. The trip has a 4am start and 5hr coach journey each way. The rest break is crowded with other coaches and make sure you take small change for the toilet. Food and drink for the trip were provided by the boat and fine.
When you get there it's very impressive but wandering in and out of each temple with several hundred others posing for selfies less than ideal.
The cruise is lovely make the most of it
The sightseeing be prepared for the multitude
And hard work

Adel Guided us on Excursions really well and the Ship was Beautiful.

We were picked up from Luxor Airport by our amazing guide Adel, of Orbital tours and taken to MS Royal Princess. This is a small cruise ship, (less than 70 cabins), decorated very grandly with an impressive central staircase. As we had arrived very late, there was a large selection of rolls and fruit waiting for us in our cabin. The cabin was spacious and well equipped with a decent shower room, comfortable double bed with side tables, a dressing table, wardrobe, a small table and 2 armchairs (facing a large Juliet balcony). In fact it was a mini suite with top quality, dark wooden furnishings. Towels were often displayed on our bed in various amusing shapes too.One of our favourite things was to look out from the floor to ceiling Juliet windows at the bank and passing ships as we sailed along. One of our least favourite - but which cannot be avoided and is totally understandable- was the times when we were moored up between other similar cruise ships. On those occasions we could not see out of our balcony windows at all. The only view was the side of the ship beside us. However, this was a small price to pay for the wonderful things were were taken to see. The food on the ship was of good quality, with an excellent salad selection and a good variety of meals and desserts. Always a delicious soup and plenty of bread and fruit too. Sadly, the pre-prepared 'hot' meals were barely warm. However, there was always one freshly cooked, hot item available, just inside the door of the restaurant - this could be hot meat, hot fish or even pizzas. Drinks were readily available and reasonably price both in the restaurant, at the lounge bar and on the sun deck, where afternoon tea and cake was also served free of charge daily. It should also be mentioned that a large bottle of water was provided to each of us every evening. There was some very good evening entertainment provided too but it had to be said that, with the early starts, we were usually too tired to go along to it, All the ship's staff were polite, respectful, friendly and helpful. We were fortunate enough to be part of a small group, 8 in total, under the excellent care of our Orbital Excursions Guide, Adel. This extremely caring, personable and very knowledgeable man organised our excursions. He ensured we were both well informed and very safe. Adel was also a great deal of fun and made our holiday experience very special, not least his use of fun English phrases, of which he had learned many, e.g. after warning us of uneven steps etc, he would say, 'brace yourself Rodney!', and on completion of a successful excursion 'Bob's you uncle.' But Adel was more than a well organised guide who took care of us, he was also able to give us a great deal of in depth information about the places we went to see. He had personal experience of the excavations and discoveries in the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens too and was able to show us areas that tourists don't normally have access to. We will always be extremely grateful for the opportunity to have been guided by him. He went above and beyond for us on many occasions and made our holiday truly memorable. Our fellow travellers in the Orbital group were a very friendly, easy going, interesting, eclectic mix and we were fortunate enough to have a couple who had frequented Egypt many times,(brothers- -in law, Oliver and Gordon). Oliver knew a great deal about Egypt and spoke fluent Arabic, which added an extra dimension to our trips, and Gordon was a great deal of fun, frequently making us laugh out loud. We hold a special place in our hearts for them both. So, we would highly recommend going on a 7 night Nile Cruise with Orbital (booked via Classic Holidays) on the MS Royal Princess, especially in the cooler times of the year. It will be the experience of a lifetime - especially if you are guided by Adel.

An amazing Nile cruise with the best in service and cleanless the M/S Royal Princess ❤❤❤

On April 2019, my friends and I choosed the M/S Royal Princess for our Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan.

And we never regret for our decision, as our choise was the best!!!

M/S Royal Princess, was more than our expectations!!!

The cleanless in all areas, the exellent and professional service provided by all departments, the rich and delicious buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and the greatest politeness of the staff, all the above make our trip an unforgetable one!

My best compliments to the Manager and the Head of Departments for the excellent service provided! Thank you! We will be back! ❤

Wonderful experience

We stayed three nights on this cruise ship as part of our Egyptian tour organized by Egypt Guided Tours. It was a great experience. Our stateroom was very comfortable and well appointed, the two stewards were very friendly. The buffet for breakfast and dinner was excellent with a great variate. The staff in general was very accommodating. The sundeck was well equipped for the enjoyment of the guests. It was our first river cruise ever and we were very pleased Egypt Guided Tours had chosen this ship.
