Leuke tour om echt de ervaring van de stad mee te krijgen. Je wordt door de guides meegenomen naar down-town en hoort hun verhalen over hun jeugd en leven in de stad. Zeker een aanrader!

We had a great tour with Preist and several of the Nai Nami team. We appreciated their honesty and ability to share with us the stories of their lives. While they have all had their individual challenges it was wonderful to hear their positive attitudes and determination shining through. These young men have had incredible adversity in their lives but have managed to fight through and make something of themselves. They should be so proud of their accomplishments.
It was a sobering look at the neighbourhoods in which they spent their time on the streets. Everyone should take this tour to have a good hard look at what life can be like for others. It was enlightening and inspiring and while some of it was hard to take in - it is truly a look at the dark sides of life in Nairobi. This is an amazing way to provide much neded support.
Highly recommended.

It was enlightening and inspiring and while some of it was hard to take in - it is truly a look at the dark sides of life in Nairobi. This is an amazing way to provide much neded support.

We were in Nairobi for a long weekend and wanted to explore the city, but slightly off the beaten track. I am SO glad we took this tour and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants a real, eye-opening experience of what it was like growing up on the streets of Nairobi. Our guide was Tsunami and he truly is a remarkable storyteller - sharing his childhood, his hardships and how he survived 29 years on the streets. No question was off limits and you could tell he had a personal mission to raise awareness and create change in his community. We also had a chance to meet many others - King, Cheddar Cheese, Priest, Quick, Mr Cool - and each were so kind, positive and clearly making a difference. If you have the opportunity to take this tour - please do! You will not regret it!

Our group took this tour with Tsunami, who showed us around downtown Nairobi. What an eye-opening and insightful experience. Tsunami was incredibly open and generous telling us stories from his own life about how he survived on the streets and how he got to where he is today. He insisted we ask questions and take photos, truly immersing us in our surroundings. This is more than a tour, it is an inspirational memoir and now his mission to help as many children on the streets as he can. Highly recommend!

Die Guides gaben uns einen detaillierten, ungeschminkten Anteil an ihrer Vergangenheit. Wir wurden hervorragend geleitet, es gab viel Zeit, um ausführlich Fragen zu beantworten. Besonders wenn man schon Einblicke hat, wie unsere Gruppe, in die Lebens- und insbesondere Überlebensweise hat, ist die Führung sehr zu empfehlen.

What a life! An extraordinary opportunity to get an insight into the lives of former street kids. They generously shared their astonishing stories as they took us around their bustling neighbourhood. All of them were so friendly, easy to talk to and with great humour, it was a privilege to meet them. Delicious lunch too! It’s a must for anyone coming to Nairobi.

It was nice, cool and interesting. Out guide waited us at meeting point. He helped us wit all our questions. We took the tour on Sunday, that is different than other days (because of weekend vibes). Thank you Tsunami, wish U all the best.

Excellent way to see a different side of Nairobi and support a community of former street children working on second chances. Our guide Priest was incredible in relating his story as he guided us from uptown to downtown. We also got to meet Typhoon, Donga, and more of this inspiring group.

It's an excellent tour to visit downtown Nairobi. Priest was our main tour guide and he was very generous in sharing his story and in pointing out the places that mattered to him. It's an excellent way to learn about what Nairobi means for people who live there -- beyond the tourist spots and the the city's notorious reputation.
There were only 2 of us in our group when we went. We met others from Nai Nami too -- Donga, Typhoon, Cheddar, and others -- and we felt welcomed. They're all wonderful people. I'm grateful to them for sharing Nairobi with us.

Hi! You mentioned not to take a camera because photography isn't allowed in the city. Can you please provide more details? Is this certain parts of the city or the entire city. Can pictures be taken with cell phone?

They say not to take a camera on the tour. I took my cell phone and would ask before taking a pic. Some places it was not allowed and some places it was fine. The guides can let you know. I took many pics, but only after checking with the guide first.

Possible to have a pickup and dropoff at the Tamarind Hotel? Also to have a private (just me) tour? I would like to take photographs and don't want to be a burden on others. What would be the cost? Do the guides provide some insight into history and culture, in addition to life on the street? Thanks.

We were just two of us, but it was due to limited tourists at that time, however i’m sure they can arrange it. Contact them directly.they are very responsive as their business is based on internet communication
It also depends how many of them will participate. We enjoyed the variety of their personal stories, each of them has something special to share. Related to history and culture these guys have grown up on the streets so they can share their stories and what they learned, do not except trained guides, but this is the beauty of this tour.
