6-Day Samburu/Naivasha/Nakuru/Maasai Mara Private Safari (Luxury)

It was an abysmally awful experience, and Ultimate African Safaris operator, Mr. George Munene, blames Tour Radar for it. The first two nights, we stayed at the Simba Lodge in Samburu, which matched the luxury description of the tour. However, Mr. Munene asked me to pay the resort fee of $928. Because of a bank's mishap with the promise to reimbursing me on the following Monday. (That didn't happen, and I know, there's a sucker born every day) The third night is written in the itinerary as the Simba Lodge in Nakuru. It doesn't exist because Simba Lodge has only three resorts in Kenya: Samburu, Lake Naivasha, and Masai Mara. Instead, we got lodge at the overrated three stars Citimax Hotel in Nakuru with one towel for two persons in a dirty closet-size room. The following morning, we assimilated with another client Mr. Sebastian Riojas for the remainder of the tour, and our excellent driver/guide, Mr. David, was dismissed. We continue with the equally excellent driver/guide Mr. Graham Kalande. As per the itinerary on your site, we were supposed to stay at the highly-rated Sekenani Luxury Camp in Masai Mara for the last two nights. Instead, we lodged at the possibly three stars AA Masai Camp where the generator is turned off at 11 PM. My (84 YO) sister and I (74 YO) use CPAP machines for sleep apnea, and Mr. Munene had assured us of 24/7 electrical power truth out the safari. Mr. Munene not answering my calls, our driver Mr. Kalande came to the rescue and demanded that Mr. Munene pay the extra fee to keep the power energized. I've experienced accommodations changes in the past but never at a lower rating. And in the present minimal safari’s occupancy in Kenya, it seems unneeded. I'm sorry, but it appears more like false advertising. Without the professionalism and integrity of the driver/guide of Mr. Kalande, who cares about Kenya's reputation, the nightmare would've amplified. Both drivers/guides claim to be yet uncompensated, and Mr. Munene blames Tour Radar for the delays. The stress experienced by my sister and me during this whole ordeal is difficult to describe. I know that we can never unscramble an egg. Consequently, my opinion of Tour Radar is changed. I'm in a Nairobi Hotel with a rental car and will do self-touring. Sincerely, Pierre St Cyr
