This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. My guide, Kelvin, was excellent throughout - he was flexible with my requests, personable and extremely informative. Not only did we travel to the advertised Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Centre - both incredible experiences that I could not recommend highly enough - but he also took me to a local community shop, a traditional Kenyan restaurant and a bead factory tour.

We were very lucky to have a brilliant tour guide for our tour called Kelvin. From the moment he picked us up from our hotel to saying goodbye.
He was so knowledgeable and great fun, we all enjoyed our time with him and the places we visited.

The tour is very expensive for what is offered. The time on the tours is short, and the entry there national park (43 dollars per person) is paid the part. That is, the value is basically for the person to take you to the tours. The city is hot and the driver did not turn on the air conditioning. When we asked to call, she called for about 10 minutes and then simply turned off without saying anything. It is better to go from uber to tours, with air conditioning.

Thank you for your review. However I wish to state the following categorically:-
You read the tour and read the time you spent in each location. Actually i was there and witnessed the full tour as clearly outlined.
Clearly your are bitter because you paid park fee which is required to enter the elephant orphanage as clearly indicated on the exclusions when booking the tour.
It's a lie to say the price is just for the guide to take on tour. This is very unethical. The price includes entrance fees to giraffe center and elephant orphanage. Only fee excluded is payment for the conservation park fee required to access the elephant orphanage!!
It's your responsibility to read all sections and understand what you book and pay for. You spent 2 hours at the giraffe centre as clearly stipulated on the description and left the elephant orphanage before the time of tour was done. You are just bitter and this does not reflect anything wrong on our side. Conservation park fee is mandatory and there's no doubt about that.
We offered you a full professional service from pick up to drop off.
Our guides are working professionals and have to be paid.
It's hypocritical to mention issues to do with Uber while in the first place you had that liberty and booked a professional tour knowing what you have signed up for.
On time you booked a half-day tour! Clearly outlined and stipulated!!!
We gave you a brand new vehicle for your service and the A/C was turned on , on your request.
Your just bitter of the conservation park fee which is mandatory and you knew about as its clearly written when making the booking. A responsible traveller reads and understands everything before making any booking to know what is included and excluded.

Kelvin was our tour guide and he was absolutely amazing and made the tour so informative and unforgettable. The giraffe center was beautiful and we were able to feed the giraffes and learn about them and the center’s mission. Kelvin captured the moments for us. The elephant orphanage is a bucket list item, so emotional yet beautiful. Then we went to Kobe Tough to learn about a women owned bead and pottery business that employees single mothers! Kelvin answered questions and explained everything as we drove through different parts of Nairobi.10/10 would recommend this tour.

Fantastic tour! I had so much fun and learned a lot! Kelvin Was great! So fun to talk to and was an amazing guide! I had a mix up with my flight and landed 6am the morning of our tour rather then the night before he was so accommodating in picking me up. I Highly recommend using Rustic natural tours and I and I cannot wait for my next adventure!

Wonderful to see the baby elephants being bottle fed & the care & dedication shown by the keepers.
Kelvin our Guide & Felix our driver were knowledgeable & could not do enough to make our time with them the best experience
We went on to see the Giraffe centre where we were allowed to feed these giants with special food given to us at the start.
A lovely afternoon & so nice to see that Kelvin was loving every minute with the animals too

Had a wonderful time on this tour. Despite road closures due to the nairobi marathon, kelvin managed to get us to the sheldrick elephant park in good time so that we were at the very front of the queue, and then found us the best spot to view the elephants from. The sheldrick trust do such great rescue, rehabilitation and conservation work and it was amazing to see and support their work up close - a dream come true for me.
The rest of the tour was interesting and well organised, and feeding the placid giraffes and meeting the women who make beads were highlights. Kelvin also took us to a very nice spot for lunch. Thank you rustic nature tours for a great time!

Our guide Dennis was a wonderful guide for this day long activity. Each activity was very enjoyable and unique. We were able to pet giraffes and elephants. It was like a waking dream!! Our guide recommended an excellent restaurant for after the activity. Samaki Samaki. It was an excellent recommendation!! Thank you very much!!

Kelvin from Rustic Nature Tours is an absolute legend, he was our tour guide for the half day Giraffe Centre and Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage booked through Viator. Nothing was too much trouble as Kelvin was very communicative and ensured we were safe. He assisted in making the conservation park fee payment, as it was not straightforward. Kelvin has a wealth of knowledge including wildlife, Kenya and Nairobi living/communities - and welcomes any questions. We started off heading to the Giraffe Centre where entry process was streamlined thanks to Kelvin. Seeing and learning about the giraffes was amazing and could've spent hours with these majestic gaints - connected to the grounds of Giraffe Manor. Next stop was the Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary. Kelvin made sure we got there on time to guarantee us a spot right in the front row and it did not disappoint! It was truly a once in a lifetime experience to see these curious babies and hear all their stories about how they ended up in care. We then continued onto the Bead and Leather centre to learn about the process of beading and how this organization has helped many women in need. Kelvin was very accommodating to extend the morning (at no extra cost) with a visit to Bomas of Kenya (traditional villages belonging to the several Kenyan tribes) where Kelvin showed us around the Bomas. We paid for lunch and entertainment by various Kenyan tribal dancers, singers and acrobatics. To say we learnt and experienced the true Kenyan hospitality is truly an understatement. We highly recommended this experience with Kelvin. Asante sane!

What a fantastic experience. Kelvin, our guide, is passionate about the country and its wildlife. He’s knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. The giraffe centre gives a brilliant opportunity to get close and feed the giraffes and the elephant orphanage is one not to miss. The great talk by the keeper was superb . Obviously the young elephants were the stars and what memories they have helped us make. The bead factory was fascinating and the end product beautiful. Would absolutely recommend this tour.

What does "price varies by group size" mean? There will be four of us in our group. Will you try to add to the group? How many do you need to have to get the $95pp price? How does this work?

I am still not clear about the national park entry fee. "Statutory Park fee Adult ($43)." Is that something we will definitely pay? Or is that a choice? We have 1 hour at the elephant orphanage. Are we obligated to pay the $43 as part of the trip for that 1 hour visit? If so, why isn't the cost advertised as $138 (95+43) since that is a mandatory fee? I don't understand this advertising and description.

Hi! Yes, as of 2024, if you want to go to the elephant orphanage (which is inside the Nairobi National Park), you have to pay for entry into the National Park first.
You pay for both separately. You have to make an eCitizen account and pay for the Nairobi National park entry online before you go there, and then pay the entry fee separately for entry into the nursery.
What a lot of people do is that they combine a game drive before of after visiting the nursery, so that the cost is worth it.
