Very high level and dysfunctional tour.
Pros: Lunch was good and all 3 attractions are amazing and must see but tour was a complete let down.
Cons:
1. Company is dysfunctional and they put me on wrong tour. After wasting 2 hours and endless back and forth, they finally put me on right tour.
2. Guide had very shallow knowledge and was very casual. Unlike other tour guide, he had no flag and we somehow had to follow his hand in a very crowded area. He was a short guy and his hand was hardly visible. So every 5 minute, tour had to wait for another 10 minutes for everyone to get together. He also had no audio devices and it didn’t even matter because he hardly told us anything. It was more of a walking tour which we could have done our own.
3. They didn’t purchase any tickets in advance although we booked tour 1-2 weeks in advance. As a result we wasted more than 2 hours of tour time just to stand in line and purchase tickets.
4. As a result of all the chaos, we hit peak rush hour traffic on the way back and didn’t get back until 830 pm (long 13 he day). They tried to drop us few miles away from our hotel telling us we can just walk for 45 minutes to our hotel. We put our foot down and said no way. In the end, they did drop us somewhat close to our hotel

The tour was great. We had an amazing guide. She was very knowledgeable and was open for every customer request. The day was perfectly planned.
The only downside and the reason for just 4 stars is the factory tour. The salesman there tried hard to sell their products, even if I told them that I do not want to to buy something. This made me feel a bit uncomftable. However, I assume this is how they finance the tourprice and therefore part of the game.

It's a full day, the forbidden city is huge,you really can't appreciate how big the place is until you've been. And Tiananmen square is again massive. When you go to the great wall, see if the guide can take you to the unrestored part, it's as it was and there's no crowds, you really don't want crowds when your trying to climb those massive steps, one foot in front of the other

First of all, our tour guide was wonderful. She made every effort to educate us on the culture and traditions of her homeland. Her English was good and personality was kind and friendly. Tiannamen square was amazing and we were lucky enough to be there to see the changing of the guard. The forbidden city, no fault to the tour company was insanely crowded and we rushed through shoving crowds and in hot conditions so not to say it wasn’t impressive but aside from a few nice photos didn’t get much out of the tour. I can only say go off-season or this is what to expect. The Great Wall however is amazing and worth every minute we spent there. It’s a really tough climb but worth it. There were two stops- a jade factory with lunch and a tea house both with nice presentation then high pressure sales which often accompany tours like this. Goods can be bought for 25% of their asking price which we did later in our stay at many stores and markets so it’s not worth the magic they weave when there. Overall it’s a good experience and I can’t speculate how to improve it much as the conditions dictate a large part of it. I recommend this group wholeheartedly.

Awesome tour. Everything covered off in one day with sufficient detail. Gail was soo good as a guide and kept out 9 year old interested the whole time!

Ich war mit Joe Qiao ( ist auf Fb und Insta) auf der Mauer und in der verbotenen Stadt...sensationell, er kam pünktlich zu meinem Hotel, fuhr uns souverän zur Mauer...ich bat um einige Infos zu Land und Leuten.... sein Englisch ist weltklasse er interessiert sich auch für seine Gäste .... ein wirklich sehr liebenswerter, empfehlenswerter Guide, mit dem ich viel Spaß hatte....Beijing 道谢 [道謝] dàoxiè, lieber Joe

I gave this an average rating only because the sites themselves are so interesting. I would've given this a zero rating if I were just rating the tour operator. We bought this tour through Viator. Nowhere on their tour details does it say anything about a shopping stop other than the jade factory, which is also where lunch is provided (as it turned out). What I didn't know was that right after Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, our next stop was a silk factory. We were shown a five minute explanation of how the silk is made, then led into their shop. Unfortunately, we allowed ourselves to be talked into buying silk comforters which turned out not to fit our American king size beds. Because we were hesitant about buying, we asked over and over about the sizing and were assured they were fit. They don't. The shop, which is called something like Yuan Hou (at least that's how it is on my credit card) is totally disreputable. I tried to deal with them after I returned and realized that the size was wrong, and they eventually offered new ones if I'd pay to ship which I agreed to. They then insisted on a wire transfer, which I refused to do. Be aware that Visa will NOT stand behind customers...they are merchant driven and back them over the customer, asking for things that do not exist, like credit vouchers I never got.
Back to the tour. After the silk factory (where our tour guide must have been disappointed at his cut of the sales, as we were with a group of young men who weren't interested in buying), we headed to...the jade store. Again, we were given a brief overview of jade, then ushered into the shop where there were a lot of sales people pushing for sales. Then lunch, then to the Great Wall, where we spent about an hour or so...the tour guide just sent us off on our own, so if you expect to be led and have things explained, you'll be disappointed. After the Great Wall, we headed back...to a tea shop, where we tasted some tea and then led into their shop. The tea stop was for sure the most profitable for our guide, as it was something the guys were interested in. Then back toward Beijing with traffic that was so bad that the guide suggested we get out and take public transportation like a taxi or subway to our respective hotels. A couple of the more adventurous guys did that, but there was no way we were going to do it, having no idea where we were or how to get to our hotel. About a mile later, we happened to be next to another tour bus and we were instructed to get off and get onto theirs as they were heading towards our hotel faster than our bus was. Their bus was new and much nicer than ours, which was pretty old and beat up. Between being sold something that was completely the wrong size, being suggested to three shopping stops when we could have spent more time at the attractions, leads me to advise people to avoid this tour operator as it seems making sales commission is more important than guiding. Plus, the quality of the bus seems to vary widely. And being told to take a taxi back after paying 80+ dollars for a tour per person is adding insult to injury. Avoid if you can, but if not, don't buy ANYTHING at the silk factory.

This tour was amazing. The forbidden city was absolutely beautiful and the great wall just takes your breath away. I definitely recommend this tour. All the way from miami,fl. I loved it.

My flight from PEK is at 20.10 on Fri 17 Jan. What time would we be back in hotel to pick up luggage and get to airport in time?. Br Andrew
I was in Beijing in November. Keep 3 Hrs time, So ensure you reach PEK 3 Hrs earlier than flight time. PEK is a very efficient airport, BUT remember it is large, and it takes time to get through Security. Hope this helps.

4 of us will be arriving in PEK at 625am have a long layover we arennot departing till the next day at npon. We would like to get pick up at the airport abd retuning at the hotel near the airport ? Is your service will be able to do that ?

Yes I am sure you would be able to work that out with them. Our guide was fluent in English and very accomodating. Since they have people at the airport anyway and drop off in town just set it up with them before you leave so they are clearly aware of what you are expecting. We took a car from the airport and took a day to acclamate before taking the tour but the tour is great and you would be glad you went so do it. It was our first time, 4 months ago, and it was one of the highlights of our trip.
