Had a splendid day visiting city-center of Beijing. I can definitely recommend Lucy as a guide: very knowledgeable about the ancient history of the city, very open, flexible to respond to a specific request from our side (although not initially foreseen in the standard tour). Top !

Had a great tour visiting Forbidden City and the Great Wall! Our guide, Yuan, was very informative and knowledgeable about the history and was able to answer all questions we had. It was so nice to have a private car to travel in and the personal interaction with Yuan. Would highly recommend this tour and Yuan as your guide!

Booked this tour last minute, right before I hopped on the flight that had an 11 hour layover in Beijing. Kelly was the tour guide assigned to me and she was waiting at the arrivals gate with a driver. They had water and snacks ready for me and we headed straight on to the Great Wall of China - Mutinayu entrance. The drive was great and Kelly provided very interesting facts and details about the city, landmarks during the drive and the Great Wall itself. Kelly spoke great English and made me feel very comfortable and safe during the drive.
Kelly took me around the Great Wall and she purchased the tickets. We then stopped for a buffet lunch of dumplings and traditional Chinese food which was included in the tour. After this we went on to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Again here, the tour guide Kelly was very knowledgeable about the history and provided great facts and tips about both landmarks.
The driver then dropped me off at the airport with ample of time for my next fight.
I would definitely recommend this tour and request for Kelly.

Jack our private tour Guide was brilliant , his English was 100% , he made us feel comfortable and safe the whole time, the driver he organised was great as well managing the Beijing traffic superbly. Jack's depth of Knowledge of the Wall, the Tombs and Chinese History was first class. it was a great day all round.

Because of a stop-over of more than 17 hours in Beijing and because you don't need a visa if your transit is less than 144 hours, we decided to make the best out of our time in China's capital. We chose to do it organized, because it's still China and because a trip to the Great Chinese Wall would be difficult to arrange by ourselves.
We had the best time! We were picked up at the time and place we had agreed upon by Linda. We went to the wall and because we got there early we almost had the wall to ourselves. Linda knew a lot about the Walls history and gave us time for ourselves. After that we had a private tea tasting and a delicious lunch in a place with mostly locals.
After the lunch we went to Tian'anmen Square and the forbidden city, had a coffee and went for a heavenly Beijing Duck. After that we said goodbye to Linda and we were brought back to the airport by our chauffeur.
Thanks to Linda we had a wonderful day in Beijing.

Great layover in Beijing! Excellent way to see it all in one day. We had great tour guide Lucy, who was very helpfull to give some tips what to do in Beijing and even took us to taste some tee in a cold day of January. And we were two hours late because of airports poor visa system, but still we had time to see everything! And the dumbling place was awesome!

I had 2 nights in Beijing, but really only one full day, so I wanted to maximize my time. I booked the tour through Kong Lin, who was extremely helpful and informative is helping me decided on an itinerary of what I would like to do and see. I ended up booking hotel transfers, a private tour of the Great Wall, Chinese lunch, Tienanmen Square and Forbidden City Tour, and an Acrobatics show - and I was back to my hotel in time for dinner!
The airport transfers: Quick and efficient! The drivers did not really speak English, but they knew exactly where to go and were very polite and helpful. Upon arrival in Beijing my driver was very visible right outside of baggage claim with my name on paper, and when leaving my driver met me in the hotel lobby right at the agreed upon time.
My tour guide: Lucy was absolutely amazing! She spoke excellent English, and tailored the tour to suit my interests and fitness levels (there's soooo many stairs on the Great Wall!). We had a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about the sights and history and Chinese culture from her.
The Great Wall: We got to the Mutianyu section early to beat the crowds (though there's no real crowds in Winter), and we were able to park fairly close to the wall. There is still a big of walking uphill before you get to the wall, but it was quite manageable. Once there, we took the gondola lift up to the wall itself and walked along it. Since this is a private tour, you can go anywhere you like and as far as like, at any pace you want. Throughtout it Lucy was informative and offered suggested on where to go and what to do, as well as shared the history of the wall and surrounding areas. It was a very excellent experience.
Lunch: Lucy has many good suggestions for lunch. For the less adventurous she can help you find more Western style fare, but I wanted something very Chinese so she took us to a small little restaurant on the way back to Beijing. The place was filled with locals (not a single tourist from ANY other country in sight!) and the food was great, simple Chinese fare where you pick from a buffet of sorts for your sides, then boil dumplings right at your table. Our driver (An) joined us as well, and though he spoke no English we still shared a few jokes with Lucy as our translator.
Forbidden City/Tienanmen Square - Another great piece of history! We were dropped off right next to the square by our driver, then Lucy and I walked through it as she spoke of the history before leading us across the street to the Forbidden City. There she once again told me about the history, including the meaning behind a lot of the symbolism found throughout the palace. It is an amazing place to see, and I highly suggest it for anyone traveling through Beijing!
Acrobatics Show - I chose one of the 'VIP' seats and it turned out only myself and 2 others were in the middle 'VIP' area (in this case VIP just means the middle seating section in the first 20 or 30 rows, all of the sides were regular seating). Right in the 4th row, so I was close enough to see everything but far enough back that it wasn't right in my face. The show started out a little slow and at first I thought it might be kind of boring, but the acrobats were just warming up and by the end I was truly amazed as it went to Cirque level craziness awesomeness. I recommend this as well if you have time!
I think that sums up most of my experience. Again, this was great, and I felt the price was quite reasonable considering the time involved and the fact that it was a private tour. I would absolutely do it again my next time in Beijing.
