very long day from Jakarta. 6 hours round trip.
What to do if you are based in the area.
The photo of the volcano does not match, can be misleading.

Amazing trip around the vulcano area, fruit market and the standing hot water spring. It’s been a massive pleasure to partecipate to this tour. The guide was amazing Rizky and we meet 2 amazing Indian guys who made the trip with us

Honestly, this trip is a must for anyone coming to Jakarta. (Eg take a day to get out of the city).
You sample fruits and Indonesian food (lunch), see rice and tea plantations and luwaks. The volcano was awesome (very Instagram-able) and it finishes with hot springs.
My tip, bring a towel and bathers, because you’ll probably want to get into the water at the end (not just dip your toes).
But it was so good. This was my highlight to Jakarta. Bryan (and driver Toto) were so knowledgeable and nice.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

My guide was Mitchel and he made my trip really memorable and on time. He speaks good English and can explain the background of the places really well. He also gave me tips during my visit which was very helpful. The driver is just as polite too. Thanks for being polite and thoughtful throughout the whole trip. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a lot to do in one day this is the tour for you! Jumping from one thing to the next, volcano, fruit tasting, lunch, coffee tasting, rice fields you got to see a lot but not a lot of time at each place. I was hoping to try tea like we did at the coffee plantation but it was just a field on the side of the road you got to look at the tea plants for a minute. I wish we could of stayed longer at the volcano I would have liked to walk the rim of it but again short on time. Lunch and coffee tasting was the highlight I didn't expect. The hot springs was interesting and nothing like I've ever seen before. Highly recommend getting a massage in the pool for 100,000 rupiah.

Roughly how long to travel from Jakarta to first stop on a weekend? And I heard that traffic can be quite jammed on weekend between the stops and ended spend alot of time in the vehicle than actual sightseeing. Is that true?

Normally your vehicle can drop you rather close to the volcano… to reach the rim of the volcano one needs to walk about 500 meters.
But if someone wants to see it from various points on the rim of the volcano then one may need to walk little more than a kilometre
