Beautiful and relaxed scenic tour with a friendly guide

Really nice tour with quite small group (less than 20) with a superfriendly guide Javiera who was explaining in a nice way the basic information of the area and stories behind the names etc. We were on the cruise and the schedule changed to earlier last tender, Javiera and the driver changed the schedule and accommodated an extra stop in the beautiful area around Emerald Lake in stead of a long drive to Frutillar. Beautiful views, nice own your own scenic walking in Petrohue rapids, good stop in Puerto Varas to have a coffee, see the local market and enjoy the scenes, As we were the last cruise of the season got some extra treats (chocolate easter eggs) at the end of the tour. Also empanadas and wine served during the tour were excellent snack! Thanks, gracias!

A grey day with beautiful views and company!

Small group (5) on our tour with Benjamin the guide. Yes, he was young, but very pleasant; more than willing to share information; answer questions and adjust to our leisurely pace.

Petrohue Waterfalls were very pretty, a bit crowded there but once the other tours moved on we had plenty of space to enjoy and soak it up. Would've liked another 30 minutes there to walk one of the well marked trails.

Enjoyed our snack stop by the lake and view of the volcano. Crowds were gone and we could enjoy a tasty empanada and our fill of wine. Pleasant stroll around Puerto Vardas and then Frutillar. Time for a stop for some kuchen. It would've been nice to have another 30 minutes there to stroll down towards the market. Did enjoy walk along the beach.

They were gracious to drop us off at the market at the port so we had extra time to take that in before heading back to the ship.

bummer to the end

well organized. met at the gate as directed and entered a clean modern bus. not crowded. very sweet young girl with good english skills. empanada was cold but edible. natural scenery was wonderful. were given a short history lesson on the name origins of some of the city we encountered. unfortunately, so many missed opportunities. lots of silence while on the bus. she would answer direct questions with no hesitation, but no other elaboration. no discussion of everyday life in the area. what do people do there to make a living?, etc. in frutllar, we stopped a a closed music center on the lake. pretty setting with nothing to do, as it was closed. we passed then through the center of town, with the beautiful square, the flower gardens and the craft booths. wait!? what!? onward we drove. what a waste of time and opportunity. find another tour and hope for better.

Natural beauty

The tour operator picked us up on time at the cruise terminal. We saw the lovely water rapids and park, the town of Frutillar, and the lake. The natural beauty in this area is breathtaking and it was nice to have this tour so we could go to the many sites that are far apart.

Excellent Tour That Accommodated a Change in Our Schedule
GV Tours was most accommodating. Our cruise ship changed the tender return time and they did an excellent job in changing the tour to make sure we returned to the ship on time. While we didn’t get to visit Frutillar because of time constraints, Javiraia and our driver substituted the Emerald Lake in its place. We enjoyed visiting the Petrohue Waterfalls, then a short drive to Emerald Lake, followed by a lovely stop in Puerto Varas. The entire day was a delight, and we appreciate that they returned us to port ahead of time. GV Tours also has EXCELLENT communication with their patrons. Answering all questions and explaining exactly how to find then once you are off the ship.

Ghosted by this tour company
We booked this excursion weeks in advance and a few days before received a confirmation and a receipt for the full charge to our credit card. On the day of the tour we got to the meeting spot ten minutes early. Thirty minutes after the meeting time, we got a cancellation email from the booking company. There was no explanation. The tour operator never responded to my calls, texts or emails. In fact it is now 6 hours later and I still haven’t heard anything at all.

Stay away from GV tours

GV Tours confirmed, took payment, and sent a ticket for a private tour from Puerto Montt. Literally, three days before, too late for me to book something else comparable, they canceled for no reason. They then offered a group tour instead. My guess is that they decided they could make more money with the group tour. Regardless, this is not a honorable group. They confirmed then cancelled for no good reason (like weather). If you want to make sure that you go on a tour that you book in advance, I would stay away from GV Tours.

I’ll copy and paste the message I sent you 1 month before: Hello, We are very sorry to inform that we do not offer private tours for 2 passengers on cruise days. You are welcome to join our small group tour or our bus tour. Everyone in these vehicles are also from your cruise. Let me know if you’d like to join. Kind regards,” You never answered, I cancelled 3 days before and the tour was not blocked so you were welcome to join any of those two options (same itinerary, less money). Have a good life

Mar 25th tour
Our guide Juan was excellent and a great ambassador for Chile. He was the star of the show. Since our time was limited, he chose the areas we needed to view.
