Michael met us at the airport and drove us to Valparaiso with stops at two wineries and lunch at Quintay fishing village. Provided plenty of interesting comments about the region. Knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient, it was a lovely afternoon!

6 of us spent a splendid day with Michael, the German Pirate. He picked us up from our hotel in Santiago and drove us to San Antonio via Valparaiso, Vina Del Mar, and William Cole Vineyard. It was a wonderful day and we felt very safe on his tour. His tour covered the highlights of Valparaiso and the murals. We rode a cable car down the hill, sat by the ocean and had a snack, and then sat outside at a beautiful vineyard drinking some very good wine. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and guide!

Our tour with Michael was fantastic and one of the highlights of our trip to Chile
Anyone visiting Valparaiso, especially, first timers, should sign up for his tour. He is pasdionate and highly knowledgeable about the city’s history and will make sure you see the best of the city and appreciate how it came into existence and the changes that have influenced its growth and current situation.
On our tour, we passed larger organized groups who appeared to linger almost too long at certain sites trying to digest the plethora of historical information imparted by their guides……information tjat Michael was able to explain succinctly whilst moving is on to new locales. In the end, after 3-4 hours, including a coffee break at a neighborhood cafe, we felt very satisfied and happy for the tour he gave. We highly recommend!

Die Tour mit Michael durch Valparaiso war perfekt: kurzweilig, interessant und abwechslungsreich. Michael kennt gefühlt Jeden und weiß zu jedem Haus, jedem Hügel und jeder Gasse die bzw. eine Geschichte.
Dazu punktet er mit Witz und Anekdoten, nimmt sich für alle Fragen viel Zeit, gibt auch umfangreiches Zusatzwissen (bei Bedarf!) und wir waren sogar mit ihm noch in einem hübschen Café (Café Zeit) ein Abschlussbierchen trinken.
Wir hatten eine wirklich schöne und spannende Zeit mit dem "german pirate" als Stadtführer und möchten nochmal Danke dafür sagen!
Dazu punktet er mit Witz und Anekdoten, nimmt sich für alle Fragen viel Zeit, gibt auch umfangreiches Zusatzwissen (bei Bedarf!) und wir waren sogar mit ihm noch in einem hübschen Café (Café Zeit) ein Abschlussbierchen trinken.

Michael was an excellent tour guide. He was prompt, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him for any touring in Chile. We used him for Valparaiso and the vineyards.

trotz der zur Zeit schwierigen Situation mit Protesten und Unruhen haben wir unser Reiseprogramm nicht geändert und begannen unsere 4-wöchige Chile-Reise in Valparaiso. Die Stadtführung mit Michael, "the german Pirat", war ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art. Perfektes Insiderwissen spannend vermittelt ließ den Tag wie im Flug vergehen. Danke !

Wir haben mit 4 Personen, nach einer Kreuzfahrt, mit Michael ein Tagestour in Valparaiso gemacht. Aufgrund der momentanen Unruhen waren wir etwas zögerlich -aber Michael hat uns mit viel Fingerspitzengefühl diese tolle Stadt in all ihren Facetten gezeigt. Wir haben super Insider-Einblicke bekommen und einen unvergesslichen Tag in Valparaiso und Viná Mar verbracht.
Sehr empfehlenswert war auch der zuverlässige Fahrservice von Evaristo!
Wünschen Euch weiterhin viel Erfolg und hoffentlich bald wieder ruhigere Zeiten in Chile.

10 Tage Valparaiso - Abholung vom Flughafen in Santiago vom Piraten Bruno - durch das Casablanca Tal nach Valpo, zu "unserem" Cerro La Loma: von nun an zeigt uns Bruno scheibchenweise Valpo! Mit Witz und viel Geschichts- und Fachkenntnis erleben und erlaufen wir uns mit ihm diese traumhafte, bunte und so andere Stadt! Der Cerro Alegre mit den vielen Künstlern, der "Plan" in der Unterstadt; Hotels und Banken aus glorreichen Weltumseglungszeiten sind immer noch aktuell - zu allen haben die "Piraten" mit uns Zutritt: traditionelle Bars und Restaurants strahlen ihren Charm aus - in manchen könnten echte Piraten und "Kollegen" von Michael und Bruno vor mehr ais 100 Jahren gegessen, getrunken, gerauft und geliebt haben. Brennen die Füße führt uns Bruno in einen der Ascensores, die Aufzüge, die uns das Treppensteigen ersparen!
Brunos "Piratenkenntnisse"leiten uns in versteckte Winkel mit aufregenden Kleinigkeiten und sensationellen Ausblicken! Er erklärt uns viele der politisch motivierten Murals - die einfach nur "Schönen", sind zum Betrachten da, mit seinen eigenen Gedanken dazu!
Die Rast oder der Absacker wird in der altehrwürdigen Bar La Playa genommen. Trinkt mit ihm dort ein Cerveza oder einen Pisco Sour und schaut euch ausgiebig um! Lasst euch zu einer Hafenrundfahrt führen, mit unvergesslichem Ausblick von See aus auf das Amphietheater Valparaiso! Wenn ihr Glück habt, liegt der Stolz der chilenischen Marine und der Botschafter von Chile, die Esmeralda am Pier! Besucht unbedingt mit ihm die "Subida Ecuador" -

Michael did a tour for us from Valparaiso to Santiago. It was an amazing day! We saw some sights in Valparaiso, a beautiful Pacific beach before having lunch in a gorgeous fishing town. The food was excellent and with Michael’s extensive knowledge we got there at just the right time for a seafront table. Michael also showed us some local areas with gave us a feel for how people lived. We then headed to a couple of vineyards where we had a few different wines without paying the tasting prices. The best part of the tour is that it’s all completely tailor made and personalised so at all points we had choices on what we wanted to do. We would highly recommend this as a tour and a way to really see some more of Chile.

Even though our flight had arrived early Michael was waiting for us at the Santiago airport for our tour/transfer to Valparaiso. We drove through the beautiful Casa Blanca Valley and stopped at 3 different wineries and a fabulous wine and local produce store. The country side was magnificent. We then headed to a sleepy little fishing village on the coast were we had a delightful lunch overlooking the ocean. Michael then dropped us off at our hotel in Valparaiso.
The following day Michael's colleague/friend Oliver met us for a day long walking tour of Valparaiso. Over the ensuing 7 and a half hours Oliver took us on a well paced stroll through the streets of this fascinating town. What Oliver didn't know about Valparaiso wasn't worth knowing and everywhere we went we bumped in to people that he knew.
What sets Michael and Oliver's tour apart from the usual windscreen tour is their remarkable ability to impart knowledge not only about the thing you are looking at, but also the culture, educational system, health system, history and the culture of Chile more broadly. This is all done in a most entertaining, casual and interactive way. We learned more about Chile and its people in these 2 days than we learned from all of our previous research and the other week that we spent in the country combined.
An added bonus was that we learned how to confidently use the local public transport system, especially the bus system, which we exploited the following day. Michael and Oliver also informed us of a far easier way to transfer to our hotel in Santiago which we did with great ease. Thanks you Michael and Oliver for the best tour that we have ever experienced!
