The tour went ahead despite Ecuador Hop not having enough people to fill a bus due to the country's current situation. They end up collaborating with another big tour operator in Quito (Quito Tour Bus) to do the tour which I think is good. With regards tour itself I have nothing to fault. The alternative transport provided was comfortable, always on time, the tour guides were competent and, perhaps the most relevant aspect, I never felt unsafe at any point.
The only thing I didn't appreciate is a somewhat lack of transparency from Ecuador Hop when it comes to do the booking online. I believe it's safe to say they know beforehand it's unlikely they will have enough people to fill a big bus. So I think it would be fair to have a banner on the website saying "Due to current situation your tour may be adjusted and other operators may be used". In the end it didn't make any difference (you could even argue it was better because we got a private tour on day 2), but I'd like to know that before committing and paying 350$.

Memorable experience! Did a 3 day banos tour from Quito this past July. Due to a last minute change, we had our itinerary slightly altered to join another group (which was understandable given the low levels of tourism currently due to the pandemic). We spent a day at Quilotoa which was a beautiful volcano with a beautiful view. We did not hike down to the bottom but it certainly looked challenging for those in the group that did! Afterwards our bus of about 8 people transferred us over to a small car to contnue onto Banos. Our guide in Banos, Angel, was excellent! He spoke english well, took us on a hike to a waterfall, had some stopovers including a cable car tour. We certainly had an action packed day because we also went ziplining and rock climbing! We felt safe and well taken care of during the whole process. Had a nice view above Banos at Casa Arbol where we rode on the swing and got some great pictures. Transport was taken care of us back to Quito (and for us to the airport since we were leaving that day). Communication was good with the logistics team in spite of the change in itinerary. Highly recommend this tour as it was a nice adventure filled getaway to a beautiful mountain town.

Fizemos o tour de 3 dias e 2 noites, e vale muito a pena. Somente durante o tour, descobrimos que ficaríamos no hotel com quarto compartilhado. Mas, logo no início do tour, o guia já providencia o quarto privativo. Ficamos no hotel Chimenea e pagamos uma diferença de U$ 30 por um quarto triplo. E houve uma contradição: no roteiro estava previsto a ida para o Parque San Martin Adventure na parte da tarde do 2° dia, porém ele só foi realizado na manhã do 3° dia. Ficou corrido, pois havíamos avisado que não retornaríamos para Quito, e pegaríamos um ônibus para Guayaquil às 12:30hs. Mas deu tudo certo.

Booked this all inclusive tour from Quito to Banos and return with ecuador hop.
All the guides were helpful and knowledgable. Buses were clean and always on time, good drivers. The excursions included were a lot of fun. Option to upgrade your hostel room. A great way to get around Ecuador.

Como comentario para mejorar sería definir mejor, digo en itinerio escrito, los horarios de las actividades y el lugar de encuentro. It was one of the most incredible experiences I had in my life, Ecuador is a wonderful country, it received me with a lot, history, typical food and different tourist places, I made a very wise decision when I chose the Ecuador HOP company, they are organized, punctual, Professionals and guides did an excellent job, solving all my questions

I booked this trip at my hostel (community hostel- which btw is a great hostel) and I got Diego for my trip to baños for 2 days. I took his what's up number and he took care of me. Not only he was great for the tours included in the trip, when I was at baños AND I wanted to do some activities, all I did was txt him what I wanted and he got it done for me. Safe trip, always on time for pickup and the tours were great. I highly recommend this company!
