I booked this tour to go specifically to the Museo del Sol, which I ultimately didn’t make it to. The Pululahua Reserve exceeded expectations. It would have been nice to hike a bit of the way down, but we weren’t given the opportunity. Our guide decided a different, more touristy museum down the road was better than Museo del Sol, so that’s where we went. I questioned the guide about the contents of Museo del Sol and the architecture, but was somewhat dismissed. We registered for the tour because of our interest in architecture and indigenous art! He mentioned the other museum had a guide that spoke my language, so I was left to assume that is why we DIDN’T go to the museum we signed up for.
To be fair, the other museum was entertaining, but not the experience we paid for. The guide stated in his opinion the chosen museum was better. But, if we wanted to go there we could have booked for that location. It feels a bit bold that the guide would presume to know our interests. I’m disappointed that a different decision was made for us.
