If you’re looking for the most memorable experience with minimal effort researching tickets, trains, and transportation, you found the right link.
The entire experience was punctual, as advertised and personable. Our host Samuel was knowledgeable, caring, and a friend.
I booked this experience for my mother’s 54 birthday and she had a smile from ear to ear. The weather in August is perfect for the hike and when you have an amazing tour guide like Samuel, you end up with the best pictures, eat very well in town of Aguas Caliente, and skip the headaches of avoiding crowds in Machu Picchu. It is not the same to enter alone and not understand the history. I recommend Samuel for your tour.
Will be back again and try the 5 day hike. Thank you!

Nous étions un groupe de 10 à faire l’Inca Trail de deux jours et une nuit. Nous avions deux guides lors de la randonnée et un guide lors de la visite du Machu Picchu. Herbert, notre guide, était très gentil et amusant, il donnait des nombreuses explications intéressantes et parlait bien anglais. Le premier jour, nous avons fait la randonnée qui était très appréciable avec de magnifiques paysages et nous avons pu voir le Machu Picchu. Nous avons visité le Machu Picchu le deuxième jour.

This is a singular experience and perhaps the most beautiful hike I’ve ever been on. Our tour guide was Herbert. He was a wonderful guide and an even better guy. Pack light because the hike is extremely difficult, but worth it. Thank you!

Herbert was the nicest guide and incredibly knowledgeable. I truly enjoyed the hike and he made it as easy as possible. Book with this company because they truly take care of you and treat you like family.

My favorite part of this whole experience was seeing Machu Picchu. Having been prepared with water, sunscreen, bug repellent and proper footwear made our visit spectacular. Judith organized our day from beginning to end and everything went accordingly. Judith met us the night before and presented us with a souvenir snack bag that we greatly appreciated. Our tour team (Judith, Ephraim, Jenny, Jorge (tour guide) & Sam) were reliable, punctual, professional, & friendly. The team were knowledgeable about Machu Picchu, the history & culture the Inca's, and Cusco's modern day society. Everyone spoke English well. We highly recommend Machu Trail & Tierras Vivas-Cusco Region.

Nous avons fait un trek de 2 jours pour visiter le Machu Picchu avec l’agence tierras vivas. Ce fut une super expérience, nous étions un groupe de 10 et nous étions encadrés par 2 guides expérimentés. La randonnée est très sympa et safe !
Un grand merci au guide Herbert qui nous a appris plein de choses, qui a un très bon accent anglais et qui est toujours dans la bonne humeur et la blague ! Il a pris le temps de tout nous expliquer.

The tour was amazing! All plans were taken care as promised and the communication leading up to the trip was very good. Jennifer was our guide and she was very nice, so helpful, and knowledgeable about the history and native flora and fauna. Jennifer's english was so good.

To begin, I HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the breathtaking and fulfilling adventure to Machu Picchu, especially if you have the opportunity to be guided by Samuel. The day before the tour, Samuel came to our hotel in Cusco to brief us on what to expect, what to wear/bring, and all other logistics we needed to know. He also gave us all of the tickets we needed for the tour. Not only was he accurate with all that he told us, but he was also punctual, genuine, and kind.
Our driver picked us up from our hotel the first morning, at the exact specified time that we had been told (4:00am). We then got taken straight to Ollantaytambo where they provided us our box lunches for the day and where we took a train to the start of the Inca Trail. Samuel was there waiting for us to arrive. This is where we began the adventure.
I cannot put into words the magic you get to experience on this trail, but all I can say is that you will feel a sense of deep gratitude, joy, and awe. Samuel taught us so much about the Quechua people and all of the theories behind the ancient trail & ruins. He made us feel completely immersed into the ancient past, especially walking the same path that those special people once walked. Samuel also answered all of our many questions we had along the way, and taught us some words in the Quechua language! He was so knowledgeable, yet so gentle with his delivery. We felt so lucky to have him be our guide.
When we finally reached the ruins of Machu Picchu on Day 1, we all took a moment to soak it all in. Completely breathtaking. No words, just a heart filled with gratitude and wonder. Day 1’s trek was so rewarding, and we got to finish that day in Aguas Calientes over dinner and drinks.
On Day 2 we got to explore the inside (ruins) of Machu Picchu, and Samuel explained to us all of the theories behind specific rooms, walls, windows, areas, water, etc. It was so cool to visualize and imagine what once was. We finished the tour back down in Aguas Calientes over lunch.
If you are thinking about booking this tour, please just do it. You will not regret it. I am not an avid hiker nor am I normally an “outdoorsy” type of person. But this tour will be life changing for you, regardless if you are into the outdoors or not.
We went during mid-July, and the weather was perfect. It did get pretty warm once we got higher into the mountain, so be sure to wear layers that are easily removable. Bring sunscreen and bug spray for areas that have a lot of mosquitoes. Samuel advised us to do this and we are glad he did because we did not get bit even with many mosquitoes flying around us.
We could never thank Samuel enough for all that he did for us on this trip. He took care of us like his own friends, and we are forever grateful and blessed to have been on this tour with him. Definitely request him if you are able to!!❤️
