We did the 2 day inka trail with my best friend. Herbert was our guide and he did an excellent job of keeping the right pace on the trail, explaining things or keeping us entertained. Also acted as our photographer 😂 We had a great time, thanks so much!

Jesús Vargas was our english-speaking guide on our 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with the Tierras Vivas agency. His knowledge and passion about the history of these sites gave us a wonderful trip. Jesús is very helpful and nice, we strongly recommend booking with them!

The 2 day hike to Machu Picchu was amazing with Reuben as our guide! He was patient with us during the trek and allowed all of us to create the walking pace. Reuben was able to tell us so much about the history of Machu Picchu on our second day of the tour while exploring the south side of Machu Picchu. Would highly recommend Reuben for this tour or any others (the lake or rainbow mountain). If I come back to do the 4 or 10 day trek to Machu Picchu I would specifically ask for Reuben to be my guide!

Plinio was very kind, helpful, patient and informative on our trek. Plenty of opportunities to take pictures or to rest when needed. I felt very safe and it was the most magical journey through the mountains. The 2 day trek was the perfect amount of hiking for me, and the whole trip was very well organized from start to finish.

We had an amazing experience. Our guides Nico and Pepe were really accommodating and helped us get the most out of this trip. They did not only help us with the logistics, but most importantly they answered all our questions and helped us appreciate the culture and the history of the Incas. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes both nature and history.

The 5 stars refer only to the tour guide. He was great. The agency and communication with the agency as well as the information regarding the tour in advance were not very good. I would give the agency a maximum of 3 stars. The trek on the first day was very nice, but you should not underestimate the Inca trail. It is a one-day hike and the first four hours are mainly uphill. Our experience with the tour guide Pliny was good, he was very friendly and polite. We had a problem with the accommodation in Aguas Calientes, but the agency and the tour guide tried very hard and got us another accommodation in no time, which we were very happy about. Regarding the tour in the Machu Picchu ruins, I would recommend that you book another tour if you are really interested in all the details and historical data. We were only there about 1 1/2 hours in the morning of the second day. The tour guide left us alone to explore the last three posts ourselves and take pictures in peace. That was very nice, but we were almost kicked out by a ranger because it seems forbidden to leave the tourists alone until you have looked at all the posts together. In addition, we would have liked more historical information about the ruins, which is almost impossible in the short time. It is also important to note that depending on the tour, you can visit a different part of the ruins and never visit the whole excavation site.

The trek was very nice. We crossed all major Inca points from kilometer 104.
Our Guide Pliny knew all the names of the plants and the history of the places. The trek was at a good pace but always pleasant.
On the second day we had a visit to Machu Picchu. The visit was perhaps too quick for our taste (1h30) and we would have preferred more cultural and history information about the citadel.
We had a problem at the hotel after the first day and both Pamela of Tierras Vivas and Pliny solved it in record time by finding an alternative structure.
Our Guide Pliny knew all the names of the plants and the history of the places. The trek was at a good pace but always pleasant.

Our amazing tour guide Carlos Tisock led us on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. He was attentive and very knowledgeable of the area. Will be recommending Inca Trail Machu to our friends and family!
