Romy was an excellent facilitator. She did it in two languages and managed to maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm. It was fun and educational. Enjoyed the tea from cocoa husks!

The Choco Museo is a unique, interesting and fun experience! Our chef/ guide taught how to make chocolate in molds representative of Peru and a chocolate drink. We took some back to the US and our family and friends loved it! It was soo fun to hang out as a family and create delicious treats while learning all about the history of chocolate. Afterward, we were able to shop in their gift shop and in the Inka market where the museum is located. I highly recommend this experience!

So much fun! My husband and I booked the workshop during our trip to Lima. We had a great time learning about chocolate. We also made chocolate bars and took them home for our family to try! Our instructor was so kind and passionate about chocolate which made the workshop even better!
I highly recommend this workshop if you're in the area as it close to Parque Kennedy and Miraflores.

The workshop itself was very informative and interesting. We got to try different chocolate drinks throughout history and learn about how chocolate has evolved. You get to see the process of preparing cocoa and participate in the steps. You also do get to make your own chocolate bar to take home. The instructor was personable and made the workshop interesting. However, the workshop is held in an open air souvenir market, which is quite chilly in the winter and a bit distracting. Additionally, there was a complete lack of regard for sanitation and hygiene. There was no opportunity to wash hands before preparing the chocolate bars, the tools were touched with unclean hands and not washed before being used to handle chocolate. During our workshop, cocoa beans were being picked up from the ground and added back into the mixture for consumption. While the water was boiled, the cocoa itself was not boiled so this would not have killed any bacteria that may have been present. I asked for my chocolate bar mold to be washed and this was taken like a weird request. The cups used for drinking chocolate also did not seem to be new or freshly cleaned. Overall, the workshop was interesting but severely lacking in sanitation and would greatly benefit from better food safety practices before someone falls ill.

Fun workshop, learned about chocolate making and historical ways, got to experiment with process and make our own chocolate, and drinks…fun interactive afternoon!

A really fun way to spend our first afternoon in Lima! Gabriel was a great host, and it was great to grind our own chocolate to drink.

We had a great time at Bean to Bar Workshop! Romy was a great instructor, knowledgeable, patient, great sense of humor. I never realized how complex chocolate making is! We all left with our handmade chocolate bars, delicious!

I had a phenomenal time with my teacher Romy who taught me about all the stages of developing chocolate starting from the cacao tree. Throughout the class there were multiple stages of developing chocolate to drink that I got to help with first hand and it helped give me a deeper appreciation for all of the time that goes into a single bar. I would give my class an overall score of 10/10

Is it possible to have more attendees than 9? Our family of 13-14 would be interested in this as a group, or is that just too many participants? We could do this by family instead.
