I rented surf boards during 5 months and I can say that the Pukana team is the best team you can find in Lima. Friendly, honest, helpful, useful. Always with the smile, it is impossible not to have a good moment with them. Many friend of mine took classes there and they improved quite quickly thanks to the good advices of the teachers.
Also went to several surf trips at a few hours from Lima and was really well-organised.
Big thanks especially to Javier and Lorenzo, los jefes de la playa !!

Such a great experience. Called up for hire of a board and wetsuit and was greeted with big smiles and loads of Stoke.
I didn’t require a lesson so just hired a wetsuit and board. There was a good selection of boards and Javier and the guys were quick to invite me for a session elsewhere. We drive to a spot down the road with pumping waves and good vibes in the water.
I had some quality surf shots taken that will definitely be going in the collection.
Many thanks Javier and crew, I felt like one of your surfing buddy’s and not a customer.
I highly recommend paying these guys a visit. 10/10

Amazing experience with Javier! They took us to a very I crowded break that was perfect for our skill levels and had the right surfboard for all levels. Afterwards, they took us to the best chicken restaurant I have ever been to. They are all very nice and great surfers.

These folks have surfing in their hearts and want to share their passion for the sport. Every time I have friends coming to Lima, I take them here. The staff is very professional, and you will fall in love with surfing and the Peruvian ocean after surfing with them. Gracias Pukana 🤙🏾

After spending 5 days touring Cusco through Machu Picchu, we made our way back to Lima to spend the rest of our vacation. And of the activities we enjoyed while in Peru was surfing. Being an experienced surfer from Hawaii, I was looking for a rental operation that would rent decent fiberglass performance surfboards and not the typical heavy/slow rental boards. Based on earlier reviews, I emailed Pukana Surf who promptly replied and readily accommodated my request for performance surfboards with one of Peru's top surfboard brands - Klimax. When I arrived, I was greeted by Javier who was looking out for my arrival since there are other competing rental outfits along the same shoreline. They have the most professional looking tent and large cargo truck as so they are in my opinion most legitimate. More so after renting the boards and asking them to give surf lessons to my Peruvian relatives. I would have taught them the same way back in Hawaii. There seem to be standard association rental rates that they had to abide by since the other tents had the same rate poster. Still very reasonable. And the quality and extras make Pukana the best deal. Getting to Playa Makaja can be a bit challenging however. Without knowing better, a 20 minute taxi ride from Montericco costed 50 soles. Should have been more like 20 soles. Pukana offers pickups and so it might be an better option if you have time to coordinate it. Aloha!
