We had a lovely morning strolling through the city of Ciudad Vieja with our friendly, knowledge, wonderful guide, Alberto. We learned so much about the history of the city, plus we went at a comfortable pace that allowed us to visit and linger at the sites of most interest to us. I certainly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a feel for the area and all that it has to offer.

Alberto helped us see the city in a light we didn’t really expect. His tour was well structured and adjusted to our needs. His knowledge of the history of the city, as well as the Uruguayan nation is impressive. He left no question unanswered.

We met our tour guide only a few blocks from the cruise port. Alberto was friendly and personable. He was a great communicator and answered all our questions, weeks prior to the tour. He is fluent in English and Spanish. We were a party of 3 and experienced a wonderful leisurely walking tour. We explored the interesting architecture of the town. He provided historical content to both the old and modern buildings that we were viewing. He spoke about the current trends in Uruguay. During our cruise we had selected 3 tours and this one was our favorite.

I did the tour on 24.2.23. Joanna was excellent. Lots of valuable information. She knows her work.
Very approchable, every question had been answered successfully. Tour was in Spanish and Portuguese.

Alberto was a great guide. Lots of interesting info. He was a fountain of knowledge. It was a great introduction to the old city.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our private guided walking tour of this fascinating city. Alberto is a knowledgeable and very personable guide who speaks excellent English. We booked the tour online to coincide with our day in port during a cruise. Alberto provided us with clear directions to the meeting place near the cruise terminal and was waiting for us at the agreed time. Over the course of a couple of hours or so walking we visited all of the interesting locations learning about the history and culture of this fascinating city. He was happy to answer all of our questions and he gave us an insider's view of life in the city which is his home. Excellent value for money.

Alberto, la nostra guida, ha fatto un ottimo lavoro nello spiegare la storia di Montevideo e l'area portuale in particolare.
Il tour di 3 ore si è trasformato in 4 ore e mezza mentre ci concedevamo in compagnia alcune chicche.
Alberto ha risposto alle nostre numerose domande e le sue risposte erano approfondite e non c'era nulla che non sapesse.
Parla un inglese perfetto (è originario di New York) e ha un profilo basso.
Ha discusso dell'attuale situazione politica.
È stato molto divertente.
Il tour di 3 ore si è trasformato in 4 ore e mezza mentre ci concedevamo in compagnia alcune chicche.

A few months before our visit we booked an Old City half day tour with Alberto. We paid $50 total for the two of us via Paypal. Directions to the meeting point were clear and easy to follow, just about two blocks from the cruise port exit. Alberto was exactly on time. We had six people in our group (he said he limits groups to 10) and were able to hear his commentary throughout. We went through the Old City, a series of three public squares, and ended at the Plaza Independencia area with Teatro Solis and Palacio Salvo. Alberto was very knowledgeable about Montevideo's history and current goings-on. He grew up on Long Island in New York, so his English is perfect. We were very pleased with the experience.

I had the pleasure of being guided through the old city with Alberto. It's obvious he loves his city and his knowledge is comprehension and impressive. Having an history major at university adds An extra dimension of professionalism to his tour. i it's apparent that he has spent a great amount of time researching. He was full of interesting stories throughout the day. Throughout the tour he showed a phenomenal amount of enthusiasm and his professionalism.
His evening tour, la Belle Époque Watch one of the most interesting activities I have taken in a very long time. If one loves the architecture of this period, the intriguing and fascinating environment of a Bohemium-style dinner club (with delicious food, fascinating environment, excellent wine, and a tango presentation) Alberto has put together is a must
