Fantastic hikes around Valbonë and Theth!
Please note, this is proper alpine hiking. A good level of fitness and agility is needed. There's a lot of altitude gain and some ascents are steep, but it's very much worth it.
Our guide, Ervin was terrific. He is full of local knowledge, and upon request was able to lead us on an additional 6km hike to see some of the bunkers near Theth, close to the border with Montenegro.
All accommodation and transport was sorted out, and was great quality. Our accommodation in Theth was in a renovated 19th century house, which was a very nice touch.
During one of the hikes, one of our members unfortunately suffered an injury. Choose Balkans were absolutely amazing and arranged alternative transport for her, so she could follow the group. Accidents will happen occasionally, and we could not have received more support from Choose Balkans.

I Just returned home from my 5 days hiking tour in the Albanian Alps. First and foremost, the tour guide Gerion was phenomenal. Geris knowledge, expertise, and passion for hiking was evident from the moment we met. The hiking trails were outstanding. Each day brought a new adventure, with breathtaking vistas, pristine landscapes, and diverse terrain. I can not thank enough our Guide Geri and Brikena and Sirma for a wonderful trip in Albania. I will be back soon 🏔️

This hiking tour was amazing! What I appreciate a lot more is the fact that the guide was very qualified and the staff of Choose Balkans took care of every single detail of this tour. I’m home and I can’t wait to experience other tours and discover beautiful Albania with these gems. Totally recommended!

Lifetime experience that we will remember for ever. Egli, Brikena, Sirma, Alban and the drivers were the the most helpful people we have every met and they arranged everything perfectly. Egli who became more than a hike guide, motivated us, helped in difficult parts and kept it light, cheerful and enjoyable throughout! We were a couple with two girls 15,10 and we felt safe and happy all the time. Egli is defiantly the best hiking guide,coach in Balkans.

We book this trip in the last minute and everything was well organised in details. Honestly beyond our expectations. Accommodations were we also stayed were also the best of the area and staff supperrrr !!!

We made the right choice with this company. Our holidays thanks to them become a wonderful memory for our family. Very good organisation, staff friendly and attentive to our needs. The ride through Komani Lake was breathtaking, the Valbona pass to Theth was a great experience. We have already recommended them to our close friends.

We did Four days tour of Valbona,Theth and Shkoder with Choose Balkans and it was one of the best experinces ever.
They were very proffesional since the first communication via email until the last day of the tour.
