Fascinating trip. Interesting tour, Tatiana took us to some must see sightseeings of Transnistria, then lunch at her place with her family (delicious traditional food and wonderful people), and answered all our questions. Would recommend. If you are interested in geopolitics and USSR history, this trip is a must.

We did this tour with Andrian, a lovely man that howed us all the hidden spot of Transinistria. He took us to an authentic soviet restaurant with typical food. He let us enjoyed the Ekaterina The Great Park by ourselves, which was very romantic. He took care of us, as no one spoke English there. A must to do tour if you want to know this country no country.

Tagesausflug für Fortgeschrittene. Nikolaus ist ein hervorragender Guide mit Studium in Geschichte.Ihm ist es gelungen trotz fehlender Vielzahl an üblichen touristischen Zielen eine sehr informative und interessante Tour zu leiten. Eben eine Tour für Fortgeschrittene mit sehr viel Information über das Leben in Transnistrien und derRepublil Moldau

Really great tour. Had an awesome time visiting Transnitria. Bender and Tiraspol are pretty amazing places and I would love to spend some extended time there someday if I get the chance.
Tour guide was helpful and very friendly. Had a great time exploring Transnistria with him. Highly recommend this tour for anybody.

Without doubt it's a unique experience to visit Transnistria and something that is well worth doing, however a mixed experience with this tour operator.
Pros
• Border entrance / exit is handled for you.
• Driven around the town of Bender as well as Tiraspol.
Cons
• The experience felt more like having a private driver than a tour guide. There was some brief historical information which was good but it was limited. I was told I could get out at certain points and have a wander. This was disappointing as not only is everything in Russian which I don't speak, but I saw other tourists being guided around and being told about the monuments and sights they were seeing. I wanted to check out a museum which I was told would be X amount but I didn't end up going in. Fortunately I didn't as it probably would have been all in Russian and see above.
• Knowledge / Preparation - I had the distinct feeling on this and the other tour that I did that the guide, Andrian, hadn't prepared in advance and was winging it. From being told that a building was the KGB building (but Wikipediaing it after and finding out it was the city hall) I wasn't confident I was being told correct information and it felt like the guide was being made up on the spot. The cost of the tour was comparable to other ones to Transnistria, but from subsequently reading reviews of those, I realised that I didn't get to see the full extent of places which was incredibly disappointing.
• Language ability - if you're a French speaker or possibly a US English speaker, your experience will be a lot different, as Andrian would speak at me but in part due to my UK accent, I didn't feel like I could communicate back and was told when I sat in the car that his English isn't great and later that he now understands about 60% of what I say. This is not what I was expecting for an expensive tour in relation to the cost of living in Moldova and it led to me not asking questions (and fully then relying on Wikipedia...).

Know that we are surprised by your reaction.
The tour was conducted taking into account all the elements listed, even more:
- paid access to the fortress
- help in buying souvenirs
- lunch paid by the guide
- coffee offered
Access to other museums is not included in the tour - but in the future we will come as a suggestion!
Transnistria is very big, and for a day you visit only the essentials.
Also in Transnistria not everything is called, for example "City Hall" fulfills its function.
We are sorry that the contact with the guide did not take place in the expected manner, and or you may have had higher expectations from him.
We take as a lesson through this comment, that even if most of our clients have a special work of the guide, it is sometimes true that not everyone can be satisfied with its performance. We are working on this at the moment, in order to avoid such experiences in the future.

We had Nicolai as our guide. Excellent day trip to Bender and Tiraspol. Border checkpoint was easy, interactions with locals via Nikolai translations were easy, and we got to experience the cities. Highly recommend.

Unser Guide Nicolai war sehr erfahren, freundlich, zuvorkommend und ein sehr guter Fahrer. Er konnte uns viele interessante Ecken zeigen und eine Menge dazu erzählen. Er ging jederzeit auf Fragen oder Wünsche ein, schaute nicht auf die Uhr uns ließ uns überall die Zeit, die wir benötigten. Eine tolle Exkursion, die man nur weiterempfehlen kann.

We booked the tour titled “Return to the USSR - Excursion in Transnistria”
Going to Transinitria was a time trip back to the USSR. Our guide was Gloria. She picked us up on time…was knowledgeable and shared her personal experiences of life during the USSR as well as life in free Moldova. There were a total of five people and the car was spacious and comfortable. Gloria showed us many beautiful natural and historically significant sights.
We also saw many communist-era monuments and gained insight into the mind-set of a people who prefer to live in an imagined glorious past rather than embracing a dynamic and uncertain present and future. If you’re interested in booking a tour that gives you a sense life behind the ‘Iron Curtain’ then consider booking this tour.

Hi, I am trying to book this tour for this Sunday Sept 12th, and to be picked up at our hotel Mon Ami Villa in Chisinau in the morning (or at the beginning of the tour).
However on the booking page, I am asked information about the airline, the flight number and the arrival time and these are mandatory fields to fill out.
How can I just book the tour to be picked up and dropped off at the same location (our hotel Mon Ami Villa in Chisinau).
