Christmas & New Year, Yuletide festivities in Romania 🇷🇴 Fantastic trip and all thanks to George. I am still buzzing from the New Year party 🎉 it has to be one of the best I have ever had.
George really does take his job seriously while simultaneously providing safety and fun 😍
What a pleasure to have him as our guide, I really appreciate his humour, excellent communication skills, perfect English speaking and his discerning attitude.
I highly recommend this grand chap, nothing is too much trouble for him and his sense of humour and stance is impecable.
I felt 100% safe on the trip and I'll be back 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🥂

It was a fantastic 8 days in Romania , especially with our experienced, knowledgeable and attentive guide George . Well tailored tour and unique accommodations.
Good job George ! Not forgetting our driver Valie who is a great & safe driver throughout the 8 days .

We had a fabulous 8 day tour of Romania with George as our knowledgeable, funny, and outstanding guide. As a former journalist, he knows the history and culture of Romania and how to communicate its significance. His attention to detail, recommendations for restaurants, activities and the customized itinerary were over the top. He accommodated our every need from bottled water to restaurant reservations and had a wonderful itinerary fully planned. It was so stress free to know we didn't need to worry about a thing. He drove us all around the country in his beautiful van, knew all the best photo spots and is also a wonderful photographer. We especially enjoyed his willingness to speak about any subject that arose. His knowledge of history, culture, religion, and tradition made our tour both meaningful and memorable. He really works hard to plan the kind of trip you want and then carries it out beautifully. You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I along with our 17 year old son did the "8 Day Private Tour of Bucovina & Transylvania from Bucharest" and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.
First, George - the tour guide/driver/owner of the tour company - was himself among the highlights of the trip. He clearly exhibited a passion for customer service and his country. From the moment I discovered him online his communication was very responsive and very clear and this continued during the trip. Throughout the trip, he was humorous and a great conversationalist with impeccable English. His insight into the areas we visited were top-notch and his reflection on the history of his country was very insightful.
His vehicle was very clean (like new) and he constantly kept the windows cleaned for the drives! Additionally, during the tour he balanced the time well allowing for ample time of guided tour and private time for our family.
The tour itself was great. If you have never been to Romania (this was our first time there) I would encourage you to go. The country is naturally beautiful with rolling hills, mountains, plains and many untouched areas, but with plenty of historical sites. The uniqueness of the villages was a treat and if you get a chance stay in Viscri. Even Bucharest, which I had heard negative things about before the trip was nice. Its probably a great time to go as you can still see some of the scars of Communist rule interspersed with the great historical architecture and the renovation that is ongoing. Sibiu and Brasov were both wonderful historical cities but full of life...my wife and 17 year son were trying to convince me buy a place there so we could live there 3 months out of the year.
When I had told family and friends that I was going to Romania with my family the first response was usually...why? Or...is it safe? Or...isn't it dangerous being so close to the Ukraine? The answer to the first was the sheer amount of history you can see with the old Saxon Villages, the fortified churches, the painted churches, the fortress and the castles. As to safety concerns...I can honestly say that I have never felt safer on a trip in my life, even at night walking in the city streets! Plus the Romanian people we encountered were all very welcoming and pleasant.
The food may have been the biggest shock, but in a positive way. We never had a bad meal. Everything was fresh tasting and more diverse that we had expected.
Lastly, its an extremely inexpensive country to visit--not only due to the current exchange rate, but the country is, well, just inexpensive!
I definitely recommend Touring_Romania as a travel company choice and the County of Romania as a place to visit.

Thank you, Himbert ! Fantastic time spent together, indeed ! And, yes, Romania is a totally safe country ! It is understandable that some people are somehow afraid to come because of the war in Ukraine, but Romania is a NATO and EU strong country and there are no security problems here ! I wish people will understand this and come here again ! Romania is a great travel destination, less known, but once a traveler is here understands why Romania is a beautiful country to visit !

From the start, George was very responsive to all our inquiries. He even (unexpectedly) met us at the Burcharest airport and gave us a ride to the hotel. He also proved very flexible when we had to cancel a second country (due to COVID) and extend our time in Romania. He located another excellent guide to take over our extended tour, as his prior tour-commitments forced his early departure.
We were very comfortable in George’s van and impressed with his driving skills. The four of us benefitted from George’s knowledge and experience of living under Communist occupation of Romania, and we learned much from his explanation of the revolution that led to Romania’s independence in 1989, and the progress Romania is making as it transitions to a market economy.

My wife and I booked a trip with Touring Romania for August 2021. We initially booked our trip in March. Of course, with Covid, our plans changed. George reworked our itinerary and adjusted everything for our revised dates. The plans changed again. George revamped the program again.
Throughout the summer George continued to help us. Finally, after over 30 emails, we were ready to go. We had a 9-day private tour of Romania. George had arranged a wonderful personal trip for us. We couldn’t have done it without George, and I highly recommend Touring Romania.

We were a group of 3 who just returned from Romania with beautiful memories and experience of the country. It's our first visit and the entire tour was way above our expectation especially when we had Gelu and Vali as our professional private guide and superb driver.
George has informed us that he could not guide us but he was super patient in planning our itinerary. We could not really make up our minds on the places of interest but eventually George did a superb great job and we had a superb great time.Thank you very much George and we will surely be back again with you as our Guide next time.
Gelu was a our professional guide.He has extremely vast knowledge of Romania and the history. When we visited each city, he recommended restaurants with superb Traditional Romanian food. We really like them. Gelu is also very responsible, patient and polite. On the first night in Bucharest, he accompanied us to a supermarket which was just a few steps away from our apartment. He wanted to stay on with us but we told him we could handle on our own as it was late. He told us to apps him when we reach our apartment. Of course, we conveniently forgot while in the midst of packing our luggage. There were more than 5 missed calls from him.
We also like to specially thank and appreciate Gelu's help in looking for postal services. A big thank you Gelu and look forward to visiting your home in Brasov one day.
Our driver, Vali was a little shy in the beginning of our tour but has his fun side (Nu Nu Nu and eventually Da Da Da) He knows what we mean : ). He is a very safe driver. A big thank you Vali in managing our bulky luggages.
We came home with a deep understanding of the Romanian history and cultures, telling friends the beautiful and humble people we met and great experiences we had. We highly recommend using George's service.
We will be back again.

This is the second time with George and for sure not the last! This time we visited Maramures and Bucovina and it was absolutely amazing! George is a great guide with an amazing personality and he's very knowledgeable about the country's history and culture! I deffenitly recommend travelling with him!

Yes, Maramures and Bucovina are trully amazing places and I am so glad that you liked the simple life from there. Our traditional lunches at the local ladies and our visits to different families in Maramures were the highlights of our tour ! All my best !
