We got picked up from Hotel Croatia in Cavtat for this fantastic day trip to Montenegro. We booked via our Jet2 rep and think it cost us roughly £46pp.
Our guide Barbara was very friendly and talked us through the history of the two countries along the way. We were lucky that our group was fairly small (probably around 14 folk or so) and that border crossings were a breeze.
Montenegro is a must visit country and it was good to get that insight as we drove into Kotor.
Shoutout to our driver who had to navigate some tricky streets due to horrendous parking by locals.

Really interesting tour with the perfect tour guide. A local guy with perfect English, Daniel gave us an incredible insight into Balkans history. Mario, the bus driver, negotiated the windy roads with real expertise and gave confidence to all on board on what was quite an exhilarating route!
Interesting sights, excellent commentary on the journey, humour when the immigration queues were quite long and Daniel went out of his way to make the tour interesting and enjoyable for our whole party including the youngest members who might otherwise have been less interested in the historical tour and sights. Thank you Daniel and Mario for an excellent tour

Nice tour to Montenegro, well organised tour, beautiful sites, border crossing can take some time with a big tour, lots of passports etc, but on the whole, well worth it.

Kotor is a lovely beautiful town narrow streets great atmosphere and great views from the walls. You also get to see amazing scenic views into the bay which is well worth the trip!
The tour guide was pleasant very knowledgeable. But we was leaving budva at 3:45pm we was walking to the bus literally in the car park 30m away from the bus and as I looked down at my phone it was 3:46 and the bus starts pulling out to leave. Luckily they saw us and stopped. The excuse was, “I’ve just realised, as I counted that you was missing” but he was sat down so I’m not sure what to believe if they saw us and stopped or he did actually count and therefore the bus stopped. But the bus shouldn’t even start moving until everyone is back! In kotor we didn’t leave the bus station bang on the time and some people got back 2/3 mins late!
Budva we found cheap and nasty, and ruined by ugly bars and ugly high apartments and hotels on the beach front! And beaches packed out! On the other hand the old town was pleasant but it’s tiny so not lots to do or see.
I would advise Perast over Budva! Looked a much nicer town driving past unfortunately we wasn’t able to stop there on our particular trip.

Um passeio encantador muito por culpa do nosso guia (Dejam), falando Português q.b. este Croata foi-nos descrevendo não só a beleza da região como também a sua História, não só a antiga como também a mais recente.
Passamos de uma beleza "ainda" não contagiada pelo turismo do lado Croata, para uma busca de aproveitamento das belezas naturais que a costa adriática de Monte Negro já demonstra.
A par das zonas históricas (Kotor) surgem já locais apontados para o turismo (Budva).
A Baía de Kotor é um grande bilhete postal dum espelho de água cercado pelos Montes Negros (que por acaso até são bem verdes). Quanto à cidade apesar de ser pequena é digna de se visitar desde do porto até à parte antiga no interior das muralhas. Para alcançarmos a porta de entrada teremos de passar pelo mercado bem tipico a região.
Brudva já é um aglomerado de Hoteis e construções modernas onde a parte velha da cidade já desapareceu absorvida pelo crescimento da oferta tristica.

Siamo andate fino a Kotor in auto, durante un soggiorno a Dubrovnik, in Croazia, da cui dista 90 km circa, di cui gli ultimi 30 bellissimi, quasi tutti a raso sul mare. Abbiamo incontrato un po' di file al confine con il Montenegro (obbligatorio per entrare il foglio verde dell'assicurazione dell'auto IN ORIGINALE!), ma la strada che circumnaviga il fiordo in un'insenatura del quale si trova Kotor è davvero suggestiva. Tra l'altro, andando, ci si può fermare anche a Perast, altro delizioso piccolo borgo sulla costa, da cui partono i battelli per le due bellissime isolette della Signora dello Scarpello e di San Giorgio. Kotor è una piccola Dubrovnik, che si visita comodamente e piacevolmente in un paio d'ore. Forse anche vedere il fiordo da una nave è bello, ma il tour costava troppo per le nostre tasche (75 euro) e poi non ti dà la libertà di fermarti dove vuoi, anche a farti un bagno su una spiaggia lungo la strada. Peggio ancora il bus, che costa uguale e fa lo stesso tragitto dell'auto, senza la possibilità di scegliere soste e visite lungo il percorso. Inoltre dura 10 ore, mentre noi abbiamo fatto tutta la visita in mezza giornata, partendo la mattina presto.

The bus was clean and comfortable. The pick up system worked well. The guide was informative and pleasant. Kotor Bay is beautiful and the old town interesting. Found Budva cheap and nasty.

We visited Montenegro from Dubrovnik with our teenager and 11 year old. We were picked up from a nearby main bus stop, a 5 minute walk away which wasn't too far. Daniella was our guide and she couldn't have been nicer. She knows so much about Montenegro and readily gave us any information we asked for.
Kotor is a beautiful city, the bay around the area is so picturesque. Budvha was also lovely, but Kotor definitely was more my cup of tea.
The bus was very well air conditioned and comfortable. The only slight down side to the day was that it took us over 2 hours to get back into Croatia. They do warn of this when booking, but at the end of a 14+ hour day it was a little frustrating, especially as my phone had ran out of battery and I didn't have a book with me. It was definitely still worth doing, however I would suggest taking something to amuse yourself in case you do get stuck for a while.

About a 30 minute drive over the border to the harbour where we picked up or cruiser. Despite what your rep tells you do need to take your passport. Once over the border you stop at a small shopping mall - they take Euros in Montenegro. The cruise was very good and included a 3 course meal and wine. There was a 20 minute stop for sea bathing. You have an hour’s stop at Kotor which is a pretty walled town in a fjord like setting with plenty of restaurants, bars & shops. We paid £65 and thought this was very reasonable.

Picked up from the hotel Croatia on time as scheduled.
Border crossed by 9am and reached Kotor by 11.30 (after a guided tour of the bay and a stop in perast) had until 2pm in Kotor. (Beautiful)
Then onto Budvah.... both Kotor and Budvah very historical with small enclaves, narrow alleyways, shops and restaurants etc.
Shared the Border Crossing (our coach) with Jon Bon Jovi (he had flown into Montonegro then he boarded his yacht in Cavtat) so was a great expereince.
40 mins on the border enroute home however nothing to panic over, still back in Hotel Croatia by 7.05pm.
An excellent day

Yes but there is so much history and fascinating places in Kotor itself - I think going swimming after coming from Dubrovnik would be a total waste of your time and you would miss the charms of Kotor
