We are on a 6wk trip around the world with two kids 9 and 10 and I can hand on heart say this was my favourite day of our trip. Marijan was possibly the best and most perfectly suited travel guide to any experience we have ever had. A veteran of the Croatian war of independence Marijan took us on a magical ride through the history of the former states of Yugoslavia and how each country arrived to where they are today. Our daughters were equally fascinated by his stories and descriptions and honestly Montenegro may be one of the greatest hidden gems for travellers in the world. Breath taking scenery like driving the Amalfi Coast, the walled cities of Kotor and Budva just take you to a different time and place. Marijan walked us into each of the walled cities and carefully walked us through the history. His patience and willingness to suggest things suitable for us was great. Convincing our girls to walk the halfway point to the church of the high walls of Kotor was a total highlight and Marijan reserving time so we could have a dip in Budva was incredible. I will never forget the day we spent together and going to the War Museum at Mt Srd the next day was so meaningful after his stories. Simply thank you

The tour company director advised us to go as early as we could to avoid crowds, because Montenegro doesn’t limit the number of cruise ships like Dubrovnik does. What great advice! We left at 7 a.m. Traffic was light-to-moderate, it was so much more relaxed than other crowded day trips we’ve taken, and the sights were beautiful. The history of the country is fascinating, and the views gorgeous. Our guide, Marijan, was so knowledgeable, friendly and caring. We can’t recommend him enough. It’s a long day, but worth it. Thank you, Marijan!

8 of us had a free day in Dubrovnik and decided to take a day trip to Montenegro. After a lot of research we decided to go with Dubrovnik Top Tours because of the price, ease of communicating with them to set up the tour and where their driver/tour guide would take us. We were so glad we went with them. First off, the driver, Boris Topalovic, was right on time to pick us up at our hotel. The van was very clean. Boris introduced himself and we immediately knew we were in for a very fun day with him. He is a character and had us laughing throughout the day. He was very knowledgeable about the entire Balkan region and really gave us a lot of history and culture of the differing countries in the region. He took us to all the gorgeous sites in Montenegro and recommended a great restaurant for lunch. He made sure we were comfortable in the van and at one stop, he dropped us off and then went looking for a place to park. When we were done, he ran to get the van so that we didn't have to walk a long distance to where he had to park. At the end of the day, we were running late and had dinner reservations at a restaurant so he called the restaurant for us and told them we were running late and he dropped us off at the restaurant.
I would highly recommend Dubrovnik Top Tours if you are planning a day trip. Hopefully Boris will be your driver/guide because of his knowledge of the region and his crazy sense of humor. He literally had all 8 of us in hysterics throughout the day. BTW, his English is excellent so no issue in understanding him and he is a very safe driver.

we went on a day trip to montenegro with Daf, it was an amazing experience. The drive there, the sight seeing, and the trip as a whole was unforgettable. He made sure we were able to see as much of the country as possible without rushing any of us along. He was pleasant, enjoyable and the best driver we could ask for! Not to mention takes great photos.

Our driver, Boris, was excellent, tailoring the day’s tour to our interests and needs. We enjoyed the beauty of Kotor Bay and the lovely countryside outside Dubrovnik on our return. We particularly appreciated his driving us through some of the villages damaged by the war and his description of people involved in the fighting. It was a delightful way to sample Montenegro.

We had a great day traveling from Dubrovnik to Montenegro with Boris. It's a full day but his energy and enthusiasm throughout made it incredibly enjoyable. He provided so much good background, gave terrific guidance on what to see and where to go, and yet was flexible throughout the day adjusting to what we wanted to see and do. His love of all things Croatia (especially Croatia football!) was contagious.
Boris seemed to know everyone we met whether it was at the border crossing, the parking at Perast, the shops in Kotor, or navigating with the restaurant for the perfect lunch table overlooking the Bay. We felt in great hands as he was so knowledgeable and gave insight into what to expect and perfect ideas for a wonderful day.
He was on time and waiting for us with water and a friendly smile first thing in the morning, so we knew we were in for a good day. Our first stop was Verige for photos and then on Perast for some exploring and a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks. Then on to the city of Kotor for a terrific lunch and afternoon of sightseeing. Lots of details taken care of in advance so the day was smoooth and hassle-free.
The communication with Dubrovnik Top Tours, and Ivana in particular, was excellent. She was so detailed and quick & timely with her responses, and accomadating - incredibly appreciative. Great day!

This was a wonderful experience! We were picked up at our hotel in Dubrovnik and spent the entire day visiting coastal Montenegro, including Perast, Kotor and Budva.
Our driver, MARIJAN SCAPEC, was amazing! He shared with us a great deal of history of both Croatia and Montenegro and skillfully and unhurriedly maximized our experience of seeing the most of costal Montenegro.
We would HIGHLY recommend this tour and MARIJAN.

After reading many reviews of tours to Montenegro, we chose this one. It was everything we hoped for! Marijan was the perfect host and driver. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. The day started with a conversation about Croatian history. My husband asked a great many questions and Marijan answered all of them. Marijan is very knowledgeable and very proud of his country and city of Dubrovnik. We chatted nonstop on our trip to Perast, Kotor and Budva.
Marijan knew the best ways to go to minimize traffic and wait times at the border. He is a very skilled driver. Very thoughtful and kind. The cities were beautiful and Marijan gave us the history of each one.
This day was wonderful in all ways and we would not hesitate to take another tour with this company. And we would want Marijan to be our guide!!!

Boris lived up to the stellar reviews we read on Trip Advisor! This day trip to the beautiful Bay of Kotor requires many hours in the car…but Boris’ depth of knowledge, coupled with his effervescent personality, makes it all enjoyable.

There are two of us. We would be willing to add a third person to our private tour to lower the cost. Is that possible if someone wants to join us after we have booked? What type of car is used?

Great people, very flexible and I don't think they care too much. They had very nice clean van when my wife and I went and could easily handle 3 in that vehicle. But they have various auto's so make sure you tell them a #.

Hello Ben, I think you would have to contact them directly to make sure they can do this. They were easy to get in contact with and answered quickly when we were corresponding with them. My belief is that they could easily accommodate you and tailor the tour around your interests. From our personal experience and from what I have read, they are very flexible and will do whatever you want. They may or may not be a wealth of knowledge on your specific interest, but they can get you to the type of things you want to see. The one thing you may want to be careful about if you have to get back to a cruise ship is the amount of time you need for border crossings. For us it was just a 10 or 15 minute slowdown, but I heard that at times the lines are more than an hour. I don't think October would be a problem, but you may want to ask them about that as well.
