This is a truly amazing experience. You can see the bears in their natural habitat and up close.
As a positive part, it is the good organization of the company and professionalism of the guide.
As a negative part is obviously the feeding of the bear, as we interfere a little in its behavior. But this tour in question is done in the most respectful way possible, because there is no direct contact with the animal since the sighting is done from a hide. The idea of feeding them is so that they do not go down to the cities as it would pose a danger to them and to us.
One thing that would improve would be the number of participants because the hide is small and there are two rows of chairs, and those in the back do not have the same views as those in front.

Guide was knowledgeable and well prepared (with bear spray in case when needed), tour was good, managed to see few foxes and a brown bear.

OK, so there was only one bear and a lot of silent waiting. However, one bear is better than none and you cannot order wild nature to display itself as if it were Netflix. There were quite a few foxes as well, which was very cool. And funnily enough a young bear who came to feed was scared of a fox who was clearly enjoying his commanding presence even if a bear could snap its head off with one bite.
Robert the guide was very passionate about bears and made the experience worthwhile.

Had a bit of a difficult time getting there (late arrivals and traffic). Did see three bear. Blind is quite crowded and our driver was our guide - no ranger

We had a fantastic trip with Alex our guide who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Clear instructions about where to meet. Despite a minor glitch with transport at the beginning of our trip, Alex made the bear watching experience incredibly interesting, sharing facts and stories about the bears. There was a group of 10 of us and we spent a couple of hours in the hide and saw 2 bears - an adult make and a young male. Alex had also brought binoculars with him so we could observe the bears more closely. An awesome trip and one we would 100% recommend. Thanks so much Active Travel and Alex.

Great trip, very knowledgeable and helpful guide and we would definitely recommend! Bears were the main reason for our trip to Romania so we were very pleased to see 2 bears who were around for almost the entire time!

It is a good opportunity to see bears in their natural environment. We could see three bears, one female and two young. The Guide gave us some information about the bears on the trip, and accompanied us to the hide with an anti-bear spray as a safety measure. We miss more information about animal biology and customs.

Of course any review will be influenced by seeing bears or not and…
…we did!
Tiberio was our guide and was both hugely knowledgeable as well as giving a sense of calm as, of course, we were hoping to meet wild bears. We reached the hide and were very lucky as within ten minutes a male bear came into sight and must have stayed around for about 15-20 minutes (total guess as we were so absorbed). We were also visited by a pair of adolescent foxes.
A fantastic evening and one we will always remember. Thank you!

It is a unique experience, fully recommended, they have a lot of knowledge about bears and the whole ecosystem of the region, they explain everything very detailed and Pro, Alain was an excellent Guide, we could see in his habitat: bears, foxes and an eagle, Congratulations!

I believe sightings are more likely between May and the end of October. They are wild so a sighting is not guaranteed.

I was curious about making a booking for two. We are not professional, but would like to bring photography equipment. I was just wondering how close the hide is to the bears, and how many people go in the hides?

I think the maximum is 8 for this tour. We were only 4. They do have a few hides but the one we were in was about 75 to 100 yards from the bears. We saw 5 bears
Just to mention the hides have glass windows which do not open so you will taking photos through the glass. Ours came out quite well though.
