We were picked up in time by our fantastic Guide Alex. He speaks good English and chats with everyone. Also with our (adolescent) children. The gap itself is superb. You walk in a fantastic environment along waterfalls and over bridges. Put on good shoes, they can get a little wet. We were glad to be on time in the morning. It was still quiet and we were able to take beautiful pictures. When we returned it was already a lot busier. This tour with Active Travel is highly recommended.

We had a great experience. The hike was beautiful and smooth. The guide, Marian, and his helper were really kind and told us many useful things about the area, local people, etc. I would totally recommend booking this hike with Active Travel.

I absolutely recommend booking tours through Active Travel. The experience was very smooth from the very beginning when I walked into the office in Braşov, where they welcomed in right away and helped me find the tour I was looking for. During the actual tour, the pick up was very organized and the vehicle very comfortable for travel. Shout out to Alex who was our tour guide. He made the whole trip very easy and accessible. Great conversations throughout the hike (if that’s what you’d like) and lots of history was shared. The blend of nice group interaction along with enjoyment of quiet nature made this hike feel seamless. If you’re in Braşov and looking to book tours and experiences, Active Travel is the way to go.

I did the 7 ladders hike with Charlie, an amazing guide and a better human being. He is knowledgeable, friendly and his English is spot on. The hike itself isn't overly challenging but as far as nature, views and beauty go its a must see! I highly recommend!

While the walk was very nice — and since we went at 9 on a Tuesday, no other people — the best part was the history and information from our guide, Zsolt Bara. Local history as well as being able to provide hiking/wilderness informations, and information on other regions of Romania. Since both I and the other tour member were Austrian/German we learned some cool things about the German influence since the days of the empire. Also no one was eaten by bears, so very good! (Joke of course) This is especially good for someone who has not been in Romanian hiking before/wants a more involved trip out. Because you can hike anywhere in the world, but you can only get this kind of experience with local informations. Also nothing to be afraid of, these ladders, as long as you don’t have phobia of climbing.

Big Thank you! to our guide and dear friend, Marian @Active Travel for an amazing hike and experience. The 7 Ladders Canyon is wonderful. We continued through the woods all the way up to Piatra Mare hut and Piatra Mare peak. The views from there are fantastic. Hiking with Marian is always a pleasure. Strongly recommend!

We were in a small group with Dan as our guide, who spoke very good English. Great guy - very experienced and competent and also extremely personable. We really enjoyed the tour because it lasted around 5 hours and fit in well with our last day there. We were picked up and dropped off at the place of our choice - great service on top of that. We would book the tour again!
