We went on two wonderful villages hikes: Magura-Bran-Magura and Magura, Pestera, Sirnea, Ciocanu and they felt like going back in time.The landscape is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing and the hikes are easy. Our guide, Marian knows the history of the area, the people and has plenty of stories to tell. Marian is professional, friendly and we love to hike with him. Warmly recommend!

My goal was to hike and get a feel for the local culture, I think this trip succeeded in this. The hike was very doable and the trip ended with a lunch at a local place with some regional specialities. Bought some sheep cheese to take back home! Would recommend this trip!

We started from Holbav, a little village close to Brașov, with a hike through a huge snow, partly through the forest. Above, an amazing view over a part of Poiana Mărului commune, houses scattered on the countless hills, like in a fairy tale! Marian and Charlie, true professionals, passionate about mountains and human interaction, made our day a really special one! I wholeheartedly recommend for an unforgettable experience, in one of the countless wonders of Transylvania!

A ótima experiência começou há no Brasil, quando Marian, o proprietário da Active Travel foi incansável em me auxiliar com todos os detalhes de nosso day tour privado à Peles Castel, Bran Castel e Fortaleza de Rasnov
Pontualemnte, Carl, nosso querido guia, nos buscou em nosso Hotel em Brasov para um dia inesquecível, com muita cultura, histórias, comidas típicas e simpatia!
Nosso day tour começou no Castelo das Peles, no qual chegamos cedo, exatamente no momento em que o o local tem menos turistas. Passeamos pelo jardim belíssimo, tiramos muitas fotos e entramos, sem enfrentar nenhuma fila. Carl nos contou detalhes do Castelo, informações que não teríamos se não tivéssemos contratado o day tour. Tivemos acesso a todos os andares desse Castelo, que pata nós é um dos mais lindos e conservados da Europa (e nos conhecemos MUITOS castelos!). Na saída, Carl nos levou ao café do Castelo e fez questão de nos oferecer o doc e típico dessa região da Romênia.
Continuando o passeio, Carl dirigiu (muito bem!) Até Bran e mais uma vez fomos surpreendidos pelo ótimo serviço do seu tour, com acesso sem filas, muitas histórias desse Castelo imperdível e ao final, nos levou a uma feira típica pata experimentarmos comidas maravilhosas dessa região da Romênia.
Ainda conseguimos conhecer a Fortaleza de Rasnov,cujo acesso é feito por um trenzinho e lá soubemos de mais histórias e vimos um por do sol inesquecível!
Carl ainda nos levou até um parador para vermos as neves eternas, pois vibtamos que amamos neve!
Durante todo o passeio Carl foi contextualizando os locais e suas histórias.
Ao final do dia, nos cobduzoi até nosso Hotel, em Sighisoara
Foi um dia incrível, com MUITAS histórias, vistas incríveis, lugares que estão registrados na nossas memória e no nosso coração!

My son and I were fortunate enough to book Active Travel for a private tour. Best decision ever because we truly did get to see the best of the Transylvania region, castles, palaces, fortresses, etc. They fulfilled all of their promises and provided lovely hotel accommodations in the center of Brasov. We can’t praise our tour guide, Tudor, enough. His knowledge, love of history, pride and enthusiasm for our cultural discovery made this trip unforgettable. We had so much fun with him and laughed so much that it felt like he was another family member. We really appreciated that each time we arrived at a very busy place, Tudor was able to do his magic and get us right in with no wait. It is very apparent that he loves what he does and does not consider it a job, very special in a young person.
Just when we thought our tour could not get any better, Tudor invited us to his family house. Here we were given the tour of his farm and his family fed us with their own livestock and homemade brandy. They were so gracious and hospitable to us and we could see that this fine young man came from such a beautiful loving family. We came away from this trip loving the people of Romania and already discussing our wish to return. Thanks Tudor for making this vacation so wonderful!
Just when we thought our tour could not get any better, Tudor invited us to his family house. Here we were given the tour of his farm and his family fed us with their own livestock and homemade brandy. They were so gracious and hospitable to us and we could see that this fine young man came from such a beautiful loving family. For those looking for an AMAZING adventure, using a travel company, book through Active Travel. From the start, working with Marian, the owner of Active Travel was easy. I told him what I was interested in seeing in Romania, as well as asking him for suggestions and Marian came up with a phenomenal itinerary!! It was nice to be picked up and dropped off at the airport. My guide was Mihai.. He was EXCEPTIONAL!! He showed me many beautiful castles and churches, as well as taking me on some breathtaking hikes. Mihai was very knowledgeable and organized. He was also very kind and friendly. One would be very fortunate to have him as a guide. I also enjoyed viewing the brown bears in their natural element. I would definitely suggest going to see the bears.
