We had a great time on our day trip to Battambang! So good we wished we could stay in the region longer, a roller coaster of a day, from enjoyable bamboo train experiences, ( make sure you get on the front of the train ! ) , to the harrowing walk through the killing caves a stark reminder of the terrible past the resilient locals faced finishing in a secret spot away from the crowds enjoying the sunset and bat migration. Make sure you wear good walking shoes particularly for the sunset 2-3 minute scale of the mountain.
One of the biggest highlights was driving around the countryside visiting local farms and villages and watching them go about their daily lives, greeted with great big smiles.
Only potential build would be try to to squeeze in some dinner between the killing caves and sunset as by the time you get back into Siem Reap it will likely be around 9:30 so quite a long time between meals.
Our guide was patient, informative and drove us on his tuk tuks through local villages, local farms and shared an incredible story.

Do yourself a favor and book this tour. We were in Siem Reap and a driver picked us up at the hotel and drive us the 2.5 hours to meet our guides for the day. The driver was lovely and stays in Battambang for the day so you can leave stuff in the car if need be. One thing the trip does include waters and fruit but not u til you arrive in Battambang so you may want to take a water with for you the drive. Once there we met our Team for the day. We had Kim and Nani, who are brothers and we’re just absolutely wonderful. Kim is more gregarious and extroverted while Nani is quieter but we got to spend time with both and they are really wonderful people. The day started with an architectural tour of the city, then the bamboo train and you can do a little village shopping at the end of so inclined. Then we hiked up to see the Banan temple, then to the killing caves which is so sad but an important part of Khmer history. We did a side trip to feed the fish, see the large fruit bats and then the bat cave. All amazing. The lunch stop is a really great local place - it’s someone’s house with a little stall out front and the cooking was superb. We grabbed takeaway dinner from a place my aunt had read about in Battambang to have when we returned home which was also fantastic. Highly recommend this trip and I’m sure all the guides are great but we especially loved Kim and Nani.

We really wanted to go to Battambang but were worried about the long tour day, we shouldn’t have been! The day was jam packed with sight seeing (bamboo train, temples, sunset) history, and our tour guide Kim was an absolute delight. Kim was highly knowledgeable about the history of Battambang and Cambodia and also very funny. It’s a long day but an absolute highlight of the trip. Thank you Kim!

The tour was off to a slightly rocky start as I had updated my pick-up location on the Tripadvisor booking but the company didn’t see this. I had sent them a message via the platform with no reply. The phone number on Tripadvisor/Facebook didn’t work and the website led nowhere. The reception at my hotel finally reached someone at another number found on Google. The driver didn’t have my number so couldn’t call me either. Left Siem Reap with 40mins delay and decided to cut one of the afternoon activities so as not to have to rush.
Once we were underway, it was a really nice tour. The driver to Battambang was friendly and drove carefully. In Battambang the tour switches to a tuktuk and local guide Kim, who was very friendly, knew a lot of the history of the place and created opportunities to meet the locals. He offered to adapt activities depending on what I was up for (e.g. viewing the bat caves from a popular spot or going to a more secluded place that requires a bit of an uphill climb). It was a long day (got back to the hotel around 9pm), but I’m glad I added this to my schedule.

Our tour was spectacular! The tour guide Kim made the whole day a wonderful experience. He was knowledgable and informative about Cambodian history and culture, and also kind and considerate while we were climbing 365 stairs to the temple! The bamboo railway was fun, the Killing Cave and Golden Buddha were profound, and the bat cave our favorite of all. Amazing day!

We really enjoyed the day trip from Siem Reap to Battambang. Our guide Mr Kim was excellent - he was really knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the history and culture of Cambodia and Battambang.
We travelled as a group of 2 families with 4 kids on 2 tuk tuks and it was the best way to see Battambang. We visited a family that rear pigs and chicken, make their own rice wine, and they were just chilling in their hammocks under their house on stilts when we visited.
The highlight was the bamboo train - it was a great ride where we saw padi fields and cows working in the fields. We learnt a lot about the history of Cambodia at the killing caves, and saw the amazing bat caves and a beautiful sunset. All in a wonderful trip that catered to the whole family. We highly recommend it and thank you Mr Kim for making it a great experience for all of us!

The tour may seem long (I started in Siam Reap) however it goes very quickly. The tour started at my hotel at 7am and was driven to Battambang where i met the local tour guide and transferred to Tuk Tuk. In addition to what is listed as things you do during the day, my tour guide Mr Kim, also stopped along the way when he saw something interesting and asked if i would be interested in knowing more about also. As a result we stoped and talked to a lady preparing black sesame seeds (I had no idea how they were grown etc..i do now), stopped at a very local rice wine maker and i learnt how that is produced and spoke with a local seeding his rice fields. The little additional extras added to the day and showed me the tour was more then a robotic tour, my guide is rightly proud of his country and giving the customer the best possible experience. All the events listed were fun and glad i did them all. The day concluded with a drive home, and thank-you to my driver for his safe driving and conversation during the trip.
Highly recommended.

I went to Battambang with my wife today . She was enjoy a lots with bamboo train and sunset . I really strongly recommend this company to all tourists come to visit Cambodia.

While still fun, it's very much a ride at this point. Almost like a 1 attraction theme park. $5 gets you a 10 minute ride in a professionally built cart, then you get out and go back 10 minutes later.
The killing caves were fantastic and really revealing of the evil of Pol Pot and communism.

Dear Jason,
I agree with you 100% about the Banan Bamboo Train experience which is why we don't offer this on our tours of Battambang, ever!! I am assuming that you wanted to review that particular experience and instead, you found our full day tour that mentions the Bamboo Train as part of it... But in actual fact, the Bamboo Train that we use on this tour is the 'old Bamboo Train' which is a completely different experience and much more enjoyable.
Thanks for allowing me to highlight this, as your review above is absolutely the reason that I have created our experience not to include the Banan Bamboo Train!
