Colombia is a great place to visit, but having a tour guide like Rodolfo made our experience 10 times better. He is extremely knowledgeable as well as fluent in a English and Spanish which is extremely rare in Colombia. His recommendations as well as attention to detail is what makes me recommend you requesting him. He made sure that we were not overcharged for anything as well as we felt safe during every experience. I highly recommend using him. A1 customer service.

We had an amazing time island hopping through the Rosario Islands. We had the opportunity to visit different parts of the islands while having a grand time. I can honestly say our trip would not have been as great had we have the best tour guide I’ve ever experienced In life. Rudolpho was AMAZING!!!!! He was very informative, engaging and well knowledgeable. I will definitely be using This is Cartagena again and I’ll be requesting Rudolpho.

Mejor excursion que e tomado Lorena fue expectacular con todos los detalles que le pide (estabamos celebrando nuestro anniversario) JP el Guia fue super, los muchachos del bote fueron super atento no nos falto nada. La pasamos super bien!!!!

We had an amazing day with Rodolfo! He needs us at our hotel and we had a quick drive from the San Diego neighborhood to the dock. Rodolfo made sure to stop at an ATM before to make sure we had cash! We stopped for a dip in la piscina (as long as u want) then head to a beach just off a home of Pablo Escobar, if u dive about 10 feet you get a great view of a crashed plane), then we did some snorkeling by Isla grande. We then did the beach party in cholon, definitely opt for the cabanas/huts in the water. There you can drink with beverages you brought or get some with lunch. Last we stopped in playa Blanca for a free swim/ walk on the beach. Overall it was an amazing trip and completely worth it!

Working with This is Cartagena for our trip was the smartest thing we could have done. We went to Colombia for a bachelorette party with 13 women and they went above and beyond to plan the PERFECT weekend for us and make sure everything was easy for us. We went island hopping on a private 42 foot speedboat on Saturday and it was the best day of the trip. We took a private van to the dock and easily were able to find our boat which was equipped with a captain a mate and a host from This is Cartagena who helped us translate with locals and made sure everything was perfect for us. He helped us get massages on the beach, a full lobster lunch spread, rent a banana boat and order all the drinks we needed. It couldn't have been better. I would HIGHLY recommend This is Cartagena for all of your activities and your entire weekend and would definitely suggest getting a private boat and island hopping at Rosario Island- it was a once in a lifetime experience.

I wanted to rent a speedboat for me and my friends. TIC was the greatest choice I could've made. It was absolutely amazing. I didn't have to worry about any details. Everything was smooth and cool. The Islands are beautiful, crew was very professional and the TIC staff was very reliable. Thank you so much, guys!

If you're considering a private boat rental, chances are that money is NOT tight. However, you're paying the bill, so know what the cultural norm is prior to booking with TI Cartagena (or any other tour provider) and ASK THESE QUESTIONS to manage expectations.
1. LUNCH FOR YOUR CAPTAIN AND CREW? When you lunch during your excursion, you will find that you have been billed for meals provided to the captain and crew. This "hidden cost" SHOULD be made clear before you book, rather than sprung upon you as you return to the boat to spend the rest of the day with your captain and crew.
2. DRINKS FOR YOUR CAPTAIN AND CREW? When you leave the boat to dine on shore, don't be surprised that your stash of drinks is lighter when you return to the boat. This cannot be easily undone or negotiated, when your party discovers the drinks didn't go as far as expected on your vacation charter.
3. HOURS LOST IN TRANSIT? Depending on where you go, you will spend 1/3 of your outing ferrying on the water, rather than on the beach or dining on shore. (Rule of thumb is that 45 minutes with current is 75 minutes coming back.
4. CONTROL YOUR SCHEDULE. Don't SOLELY rely on your guide or captain to guide your experience, otherwise you will pull up to the same reef as the other 8 boats that left port with you at 9AM (remember, they do this everyday with another batch of tourists) ... There are many snorkeling sites, so take control of this critical decision (and ask for options).
5. MODIFY YOUR SCHEDULE FOR THE WEATHER. As others note, wave conditions will impact your day, so be flexible and minimize the lengthy rides in those 6-ft swells. (The overpriced beach club that requires 40 minutes of additional travel time is not a must-have experience).
TI, generally, tries to do a good job, but it's your money and your memory. Be CLEAR and FIRM with them to ensure they know what you need and create that memorable outing.
