It was a speedboat with 3 large outboard engines. It was very fast, covering the 60 miles between the two islands in 1.5 hours from harbor to harbor (plus time traversing the harbors at a comfortable speed), but the bench seating was uncomfortable at best, noisy, and rough, as the boat literally flew through the swells. It was very fast though, so the ordeal was over relatively quickly. I understood why some prefer to pay 8x the boat transfer price to fly in a small plane.

Dear passenger in Galapagos this is the best and unique transportation to travel between island, we understand your point but we offer the best transoortation, additional all the boats in this kind of ferries are the same .
