We walked the Great Lakes with Liyakat in September 2022. The experience was fantastic in any way possible. Liyakat and his crew took care of us and the kids (ages 9, 13, 15) and were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive throughout the trek. That includes taking care of our needs, of accommodation, food (3 meals a day), interaction with locals and introduction to Kashmir culture and people. We warmly recommend talking to Kashmir Treks (+919906421796, available on WhatApp too) if you're planning a trek in Kashmir. Our experience was truly fabulous.

Kashmir Treks exceeded all expectations! The entire team was focused on the welfare and caretaking of each group member. The guides Liyakat and Ali quickly assessed the capabilities of each hiker in our party and provided the encouragement and assistance each need for the multi-day trek. We all made it in style! Not to be overlooked was the food: Mustafa and his crew provided outstanding fare throughout the week. Especially surprising was a mountain top Kahwa accompanied by Kashmiri-style bread! I'd recommend Kashmir Treks to anyone!

Last year in September, we hiked Great Lakes a private trip with Kashmir Treks after reaching out to them and appeared to be professional and helpful in every question we asked Mehr responded on time and the information was clear.
Mehr personally helped me choose 8 days Great Lakes based on our interest we wanted to take it easy which it helped us finish in a better shape. The booking confirmation was a smooth and easy process. They also followed the standards for the no. of horses and guides. The equipment they provided was very comfortable and in good condition .
Their checklist for gears was appropriate, professional and very useful. The cook Mustafa was just mind-blowing. The guides were very knowledgable, helping and fun-loving. They served hygienic and healthy Kashmiri delicacies on the mountains and the jungles. They had clearly communicated the tipping standards for everyone good thing is you can give the tip directly to the team.
I was so impressed with the way the team helped me with all the arrangements for the trip from the local flight connects to hotel to the trip, was exactly the way it was promised. I genuinely thank them for making our adventure trip in India a wonderful experience. I would rate the experience as beyond expect.

We did 8 day Great Lakes trek with the Kashmir Treks and absolutely loved our experience with them. We were a group of 12 and had 6 people supporting us, that included porters, cook, guides.
We were amazed every day how hard our team worked every day to ensure we were comfortable, fed, and supported along the way.
Our food was amazing and felt very gourmet. We truly felt like we were treated like royalty from day one. Our guides and the rest of the team checked on us each night to ensure we were feeling good, they kept the pace comfortable for us. On the mountain passes, they made sure we were safe and went above and beyond to get us to the top. For sure Kashmir Treks is a wonderful company, the price is fair, and the treatment is top-notch.
They also have the best warm, looking tents at the camp more than other companies, the sleeping bags provided were so warm even at 3800m. we truly felt like we were part of the family.
Liyakat for days with endless questions, and he did a good job to answer all our questions. He is a real professional; he's been nothing but friendly, accommodating, and attentive — an absolute pleasure to chat with him.
I will never forget the team effort they made especially on the 6th rainy day (night) on the way to the pass, where I literally lost all strength and gave up so many times. They comforted me, lifted me up, gave me food and clothes and even took care of my daypack, to make sure I keep moving. I will keep the good memories in my heart forever.

We booked the trek at Kashmir Treks in July 22 and then followed the trail up to the mountains. It was a customised family trek with our 11 yr and 8 yr kids. A good introduction to hill walking. Both our kids managed fine. The weather was clear and the views are stunning. You get a tremendous view of so many hills. We then went down the other side of the trail and walked back to the Naranag through the Gangabal Lake. Overall it was a great experience, the guide Ali was excellent managing the trail and taking care of everything. He really did a very good job. I strongly recommend Kashmir Treks.

A brilliant walking experience in Kashmir.
The weather was outstanding which nicely added a bonus, but the tour could not have been better run by Mehraj. A wealth of knowledge of not only flora and fauna, but also history of the area. Expected the meals to be basic and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and portion sizes.
Was nice not having to rush to get to the campsite, which allowed a number of stops along the way at some stunning vistas. As expected, the Great Lakes was breathtaking, with vast meadows, fresh streams, high rise mountains along the way.
If you're thinking of booking, stop thinking, sign up Kashmir Treks. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic experience doing the Great Lakes adventure. Everyone involved, especially the Kashmir Treks team, were amazing. Nothing beats a day of trekking and zip lining, followed by a wild camp in the woods! Would definitely use KT again.

This trek is a walk through paradise. The arrangements by Kashmir Treks were fabulous. The entire team - Ali (guide), Amjad (cook), Ashraf and Feyaaz (horsemen), Irshad and Parvez (helpers) and Mehraj Mir (organizer) took great care of us. They were helpful, accessible, kept us well fed, and made sure of our every comfort and safety. The age range in our small group was 9.5 - 67 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the hike and completed it safe and sound. The equipment (tent, sleeping bags, walking sticks) provided was top quality, the food simple, wholesome and fresh, the company friendly and approachable. We had two kids on the trek - 9 and 15 - and they did just fine. This hike is totally fine to do with kids if you think yours can handle the outdoors and the hard sections. We hired a riding horse as backup but the kids didn't ride on it much. It was great to detox from technology for a week (limited connectivity first 2 days and then directly on the last day and only via postpaid Jio/BSNL SIMs). We played cards, cricket, sketched, wrote, chased chicken and sheep in our free time! We will go on future hikes with Kashmir Treks and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone planning a bespoke trek in a magnificent Himalayas.

My husband and I spent 1 week in Kashmir and took the Great Lakes. We saw amazing mountain scenery of the Himalayas. Our guides were fun, organized and knowledgeable. We had about 10 people in our group from various countries and of various ages. Everyone got along and that added to the exceptional experience. The highlights of the trip were the breathtaking scenery and the hikes (sometimes challenging). The accommodations, food, travel and before trip communication were all top notch. I highly recommend Kashmir Treks!

Ali from Kashmir Treks has given us the best time in Kashmir. Our trip on the Gangabal Lake trail was simply fantastic. Nature, the plants, the mountains... everything was just wonderful. We even saw marmots. So many spreads around the meadow. For us, it was really fun to watch them. It's really worth walking the Gangabal trail. You will not be disappointed. And we highly recommend the work of Kashmir Treks.
