Both the rickshaw ride and boat cruise was equally exhilarating. It's an experience not to be missed, filled with breathtaking scenery, natural wonders and friendly guides. Our guide Ashku made it all the more fun with his bubbly personality and his discotheque auto.

My tuk-tuk driver, Mansoor Manaf, was very friendly and informative, super helpful! I asked if he knew where an Ayurveda doctor was, kind of an unusual request, I imagine, and he placed a couple of calls and took me to two places--when the first doctor wasn't available for my lack-of-any-notice visit, he drove me to another, who was available. I appreciate his determination in getting me to my goal. Mr. Manaf drove back to pick me up right after the visit with no delay. Also, when I first arrived where all of the drivers were, I was slightly overwhelmed with the many drivers walking right up to me. I chose Mr. Manaf based on his friendly, non-overbearing demeanor. Travel tip for all passengers--be sure to have your video going on your camera to get some action videos of the lively street traffic in Cochin!

Unser Fahrer Sudhi hat uns einen wunderschönen Tag mit dieser Tour beschert. Er zeigte uns alle Sehenswürdigkeiten, wartete immer geduldig auf uns und ging auf alle unsere Wünsche und Fragen ein. Rundum ein super Tag mit einem super Fahrer. Vielen Dank Sudhi!

We had a wonderful tour in Kochi and really enjoyed the day. Shaheeer showed us the sights of Kochi together with his cousin. It was really great and we can highly recommend such a Tuk-Tuk tour.

We were arriving at Kochi by cruise ship, Costa Victoria, but only decided at the last minute what we would like to do. We contacted FORTKOCHI FTADA just the day before arriving, not even 24 hours notice, but the booking was confirmed quickly and easily and we received contact details quickly via whatsapp.
This is a tuktuk drivers association with 115 tuktuks so there is good availability, and they are very professional. Our driver was Sanoj - i cannot imagine better, and after several weeks of travelling in India and Asia, and experiencing many tuktuks, he was by far the best...knowledgable, flexible, perfect english spoken, polite and curteous.....and a safe driver in an almost brand new tuktuk.....very unusual!
Sanoj met us at the cruise terminal, with a nameboard. As you leave the ship and proceed to the terminal, he was by the barriers on the right side (where the buses for the tours wait) and not on the left where you see lots of other drivers and taxis touting for business, so it was a much easier and calmer way to meet.
He was charming and welcoming, and we soon were chatting about things we wanted to do, and things we didn't, and we had no problem changing the standard sight-seeing list. Nothing was a problem. Stop for an ATM or pharmacy, grab a drink, unscheduled stops for photos wherever we wanted. Sanoj came with us on several sight-seeing stops to explain some historical and cultural aspects. Other times he just waited for us, and was always parked very close by and watching out for us.
We had already decided on a restaurant for a good curry lunch after much research...."Rasoi", near St Francis Church. Rasoi turned out to be an excellent choice, very much recommended, great curry, big selection, very reasonable prices....under €20 ($25) for 3 people.
So 3 people for lunch?....thats because we enjoyed Sanoj's company so much we insisted he came with us for lunch (he was just going to wait outside for us otherwise)
Having done most sightseeing before lunch, we only had a couple of stops to make afterwards before a smooth return to the ship. We even dropped by to say hello to his family on the way back to the ship....we had kept him out for so much longer than planned I think they wondered where he was!
Overall we had Sanoj and the tuktuk for almost 7 hours, not the expected 4. At no time was there ever an issue, never suggested finishing early or having to pay more, everything was entirely done to suit us. We did of course pay him extra because of the time and he was worth every rupee/euro/dollar.
Sanoj took some photos for us, and also of us with his own phone and sent them via whatsapp before we could even ask. Real personal service, unbeatable.
So if you are planning to visit Kochi on a cruise ship from Costa, MSC, Celebrity, Regent, Silversea or any other, forget the bus tours or the tuktuks organised by the ship (more expensive, less time, no flexibility). Book with this organisation and have an experience like us. It has been one of our Indian highlights.
Sanoj and FORTKOCHI FTADA, it was a real pleasure, you will always remain in our contacts list and if we are ever lucky enough to come back, or know people coming to Kochi, we will be in touch immediately.
