The chance to see the countryside between these two cities was excellent. Our driver was helpful and careful. THe temple itself was interesting and worth seeing, but doesn't match some of the other excellent places we visited in Rajasthan. We totally agreed that our driver, BIttu, was EXCELLENT

I travelled from Jodhpur to Udaipur with a stop at Ranakpur.
Bittu the driver was super! Great driving skills, very friendly and knowledgeable.
It was a fun day trip.
Highly recommended!

We wanted to visit the Ranakpur temple and heard that Udaipur is very nice. We got our driver Bittü who was excellent. He was punctual and was super nice to pick us up at our hotel in Jodhpur. We had a very comfortable ride and he was fine with us spending a lot of time and Ranakpur temple. We even got a "safari" on the way as we saw a couple of crocodiles and peacocks. He was very knowledgable about the whole route. That he is booked for already the next weeks how wanted Bittü is. He also gave uas some good recommendations for food in Udaipur which we are going to try out.

I wanted to get from Jodhpurto Udaipur with a stop to visit Ranakpur.
Bittu from Udaipur, Rajasthan was my driver for the day. He drove very well, speaks good English and made my day very enjoyable. As a solo traveller I felt very safe all day.

Travelled from Jodphur to udaipur with Bittu. Bittu is a very friendly and talkative guide, and tries to make you feel at ease. Ranakbur temple is impressive and worth a stop off on the journey.

We spent the day with Shankar, really nice driver that explained us a lot of things about India and the culture.
Really nice road from Jodhpur to Udaipur where we stopped at Ranakpur temple, which is amazing !
He provided us chai tea and bottle of water. At the end, he invited us at his home, really interesting !
Only thing I am disappointed of, is that we were supposed to go also to Kumbalgarh Fort but we didnt have time. Maybe the agency should start the day earlier as it takes time to reach the site, or tell at the begining its not possible. Not really fair to assure you that you can do both and finally not.
We were given back 500rp for this.

Is it possible to do this in the other direction ie Udaipur to Jodhpur? Planning a trip for 2019 also would it be possible to go via Kumbhalgarh instead of Ranakpur? Many thanks.

Kumbalgarh is closer to Udaipur
Ranakpur is in close proximity to Kumbalgarh
I would recommend you start early morning from Udaipur and go to Kumbalgarh then Ranakpur.
Leave Ranayby about 3.30 pm to reach Jodhpur by around 7 pm.
Relax and dine.....
Enjoy the majestic trip
