Our guide, Ray, was full of fascinating facts about the Bishnoi people’s culture and history. Besides that, he was extremely kind too! Because it is a private tour, we never felt rushed and could visit the places he brought us at our own pace.

The tour was very different from a normal tours. It was a very interesting experience. Salawas durry udyog was one of the most excellent experiences - learning and watching the weaving experience is something I have never done before. The food served in the house of one of the villagers is home cooked organic food which tastes lovely and is a must do. It is a part of jodhpur which most people do not know of. Ray is an excellent guide who provides you some good recommendations.

One of the best guide-driver we got in jodhpur. He is really good in explaining and also showed us places where it was trully beautiful. Khejara village salawas and different places. And amazing food. True to profession and amazing day with Ray ! Thankkkyou

Really interesting look at a different side of Indian culture and traditions. An authentic look at how people live in the country away from the cities. My guide Ray was very knowledgable and passionate and really enhanced the experience. I would very much recommend him to others.

Although the day started out very early, our driver Ray welcomed us with masala chai before heading out of the city. We visited four villages and learned about their unique histories and handcrafts. My favourite one was visiting with Sambu and his beautiful family in Salawas who are weavers by trade. They make 'durry' which are carefully woven by camel and coconut yarn or cotton yarn. The families live in a cooperative collective and weave durry as their livelihood. The cost of the durry is approximately £8,000 and the rupees are shared with all of the families. It's a very unique and beautiful art piece for your home with an even more meaningful story behind it. Highly recommended this tour and supporting these smaller communities in rural India.

We were taken to four different towns around Jodhpur and each was unique and interesting to see. The highlights included an opium ceremony and a trip to a durry (rug) weaving family's home, where 49 families work in a cooperative together in the village of Salawas. Sambu's hospitality was fantastic and the Durrys shown we're beautiful.
I also enjoyed the pottery making, where we used a manual wheel to sculpt local clay.

We went on the "village tour" with Ray, a wonderful driver and guide. He met us on time and his car was air conditioned and clean. The tour was very interesting and Ray was kind and informative. We warmly recommend! r

We had only seen the urban side of India so this excursion into the country side was
a unique experience. Our guide/driver Ray was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He was very accommodating and never rushed us. The pottery factory was note what one would expect --but the chance to try your hand at making a bowl was an
added bonus. The trip to the textile was a home industry and very interesting. We enjoyed watching the ladies make our typical Marwar meal--it was delicious.
I would recommend this tour if you have a free half day--be prepared to have an eye opening experience. and a bit of jarring ride as the some of the roads can hardly be called that.
