We had an amazing time with Naresh & his brother showing us how to create an authentic piece of Indian art, they are both very highly skilled individuals & great teachers. I would recommend this to anyone who loves art or wants to try something different.

This was a lovely find in Udaipur's old city downtown. It was in the bazaar close to the Leela Palace's back gate.
Jitu was a lovely host. We were there initially to purchase some Artwork but we ended up receiving an impromptu art class, where Jitu taught us the process by which these beautiful pieces of art are created. It was really fun and informative!
Jitu is incredibly knowledgeable and hails from a long line of local artists. His father, brother and uncle are all involved in the same art field and their artwork are up for sale in the shop.
Highly recommended visit!
Warning: Go alone and do not go with the local touts. They will ask for a commission from the vendors and ultimately you will be getting a bad deal because the prices have to be inflated to accommodate for these commissions. Often time, they will just follow you to the shop even though you were heading there independently and inform the proprietor that they had brought you there.

I Know Jeetu for a long Time now and you Can definitly go to his place ! You will find a good person to spend a great moment talking, laughing and learning how to paint in a traditionnal way. Don't think and go meet him !

Die Miniaturmalklasse war für uns eine willkommene Abwechslung zum indischen Trubel. Wir verbrachten ein paar nette Stunden mit unserem Lehrer, der uns vieles erzählte und sogar sein mitgebrachtes Mittagessen mit uns teilte. Die Arbeiten der Miniaturkünstler bei Pacific Art sind von hoher Qualität und man wird nicht sehr gepusht, etwas zu kaufen. Für alle, die etwas meditatives machen wollen, für alle, die Geduldig sind, ist das eine gute Erfahrung! Danke

We really enjoyed our experience with Jeetu at Pacific Art, we did an art class and learned all about the tradition and techniques of miniature painting. Jeetu is a great teacher and also really good to chat to about India and life. We also bought a set of paints and some art pieces from the shop, which are lovely- and we can now appreciate the skill it takes to create one, having tried it ourselves! Jeetu was also kind enough to invite us to share lunch with him, he was very kind and genuine. Would wholeheartedly recommend to other travellers.

My time with Naresh and Jeetu at pacific Art was the highlight of my time in Udaipur :) Jeetu was very patient during the lesson and worked closely to help me learn the skills. It was mesmerising watching him demonstrate. I will treasure my hand painted peacock forever.
Naresh and Jeetu told me all about their family business. Each generation has taught the next. They kindly showed me their collection and work by elder master artists, including a huge and endlessly detailed painting which was hidden away in another building. I understand that business can be hard because Udaipur market is dominated by businessmen who pose as artists! So I feel pleased to have met true artists :)
As a solo female I felt at ease with these two gentlemen. We ended up having an amusing day together as they helped me plan other aspects of my trip, introduced me to other locals, and even shared their home made tiffintin lunch with me which was very kind.
Thank you to Naresh and Jeetu for a lovely memorable day. I highly
recommend meeting these two and learning the art of miniature painting :)

Learning an art form from traditional artisans is always enriching and fulfilling. In this experience here at Pacific art Udaipur conducted by Mr Jithu (Jithendra)and his elder brother Mr Naresh both belongs to fourth generation of age old royal tradition of Miniature art ,gives you in-depth sight into the art form in its olden glory and its present status with them and fellow artists. Workshop was very hands on with all the details. Ended up buying treasure in loads .
Finding the place bit difficult though as its in behind Pichola lake, Ambrai ghat. if you are able to reach Amet Haveli Heritage hotel from there its just a walking distance to the shop.
Must visit place if you are art believer and worshipper. Had privileges of sharing delicious home food with entire three course meal with the as I popped in during lunch hour. Naresh bhai helped us for a nice quick lake boat ride as well during our visit.
Finding the place bit difficult though as its in behind Pichola lake, Ambrai ghat. if you are able to reach Amet Haveli Heritage hotel from there its just a walking distance to the shop.
